  1. Hi petermac/mattv6 is your PTB still sorted with these mods or has the problem returned etc.
  2. 51501-nn4-003 if it helps
  3. Presume same as 4rt so maybe try Honda direct. See what part number is on 4rt web site and google.
  4. Cant speak for any other centre or club but all this information is available during our AGM's and normally published. Have you asked for this during your club meeting or centre board meeting. I know as a group of riders and also clubs we vote on the entry fee for the coming year based on these facts - is that the same in your club/centre. I don't think you can compare 1 country against another on just one variable - need to take total annual cost into account - ie licence fee etc. We pay a £10 registration fee per year for ACU - the rest is a pay per play levy. Also what fringe benefits are you comparing with - ie Insurance cover etc Cover for officials, expenses for observers etc All these add up. I'm sure in your business you would compare quotes based upon the same set of specifications other wise its meaningless.
  5. I know somebody who had theirs welded but not successful. Mine lasted me a few years and was still good - maybe change the screw once a year. I found marking out / C of C duties made mine worse as lots of stop starting, starting from cool etc. In a normal club trial you maybe only start it 20 times. Traditional nationals also not so good as 40 sections to walk and start up from. If you can drill the a pilot hole before the piece break off and even counter bore it so the head of the screw is supported by the original metal is best
  6. so what is your suggestion
  7. are they tech forks or Showa? Showa strip down is in the manual I think which is available PDF if you search forums. I had a good tip from Munch at M sport for tech fork info as the tech web site has full strip down info etc
  8. I had this on my 09 and bought one on ebay with same problem . File of the offending stop, drill and tap and put an M5 (I think) cap head screw in as a stop. If the cap looks like it is wearing replace with a new one.
  9. Clubs are not making huge profits, most probably breaking even, people are do things voluntary so as I see it we are where we are. That's just what it costs unless you think somebody is getting rich on the back of trials entry fees (if there is I've not seen them) or you think the sport is being run incompetently but its mostly by volunteers so hard to be too critical to those that give their time for free. Looking back into the past has no bearing on todays cost - Tel Esso that a gallon of fuel only used to a % of you hourly rate and see if they give you some discount. Seems just a post to wind people up which has been most effective

    Changing 4Rt Oil

you need to put some mesh on the vent holes in the mudguard. No need for metal cage on aftermarket filters.
  11. Scotts only a one dayer . Needs to be 6 to get it bedded in and softened up proper even with the Sunt Meister on board.. He passed me top of kinlochleven in SSDT 08 day 1 I think - I'm sure he thought he was doing the scott. I had to check to make sure I wasn't still in bottom

    Changing 4Rt Oil

the flange on the metal cage is supposed to slide inside the rubber lip of the foam filter not on top or underneath. Try it and see

    Changing 4Rt Oil

PPs Make sure you oil the o ring around the filter cover and makes sure you push it in firmly before fitting the bolt. Should feel it click into its seated position. First one I did for my brother many years ago the plate wasn't all the way in which meant the spigot was at an angle which meant the outside cover would not line up on the dowels. With the magnets pulling the casing around it was difficult to pin point what was wrong

    Changing 4Rt Oil

I tend to go oil every 6 weeks ish and filter every other. Good quality 4t oil. If you google it the workshop manual is about on PDF and tells you all you need to know about the bike. Puts a Haynes manual to shame. Engine and gearbox are separate. The engine is easy to please the clutch/gearbox not so and many hours on TC about gear box oil are available. In short would suggest genuine elf oil or ATF , Some of the recent oils seem to get good reviews though. The oil filter is straight forward apart from the fact you think it will never come out and then it does!!!! New one seems to drop straight in. Put bike on its side after draining oil and poor new oil in before refitting casing -much quicker. Bash plate will need removing, loosening. Oil gasket on rebuild and will last many changes. PS dump standard air filter and buy after market with no metal cage -will save many hours of frustration over the coming years god luck and welcome to the clan. Glad you are getting in the swing of the 4rts
  18. If you have the standard breather system still connected and bike has been upside down - check air box for oil as this is where it eventually gets dumped. may be saturated air filter or oil in Throttle body.??
  19. anyway does anybody else think he looks like Ed Sheeran. PS He's a pop star for any non Montesa riders who have to spend all week in the garage repairing/fettling
  20. I can understand why the entry filled so quickly. Thought it was a brilliantly run event. As a rider I would also like to thank all those above who made it possible
  21. post 2009 bikes steer better, not sure if this was due to longer shock but all suspension parts etc appear the same so would suggest would fit a 2005
  22. No where better but its still a drag!! Normally a 7 o'clock start and a 12 hour day for me. But at least people appreciate the efforts we go to in our own time to make sure trials continue.!!!!! Sorry Just woke up - must of been dreaming
  23. I have been to several meetings and always been enjoyable and productive. Trouble with a democracy - which is what it is - is that a compromise is always necessary for things to work. The output should not then been seen as people not being listened to. I think in general the current format works with rules etc currently in place so its a long way to go just to nod and come home.
  24. Errrmmmm Think weight reduction program has gone a bit far
