  1. No critism on any party but I personally don't like having an alternative route marked in the middle of another route. I always try and have riders all going through the same gates or on a completly diferent set of gates but this does take time and effort and even a compromise on the section to do this. Only mark out trial a year and spend a few months doing! I guess this is just one of the many problems of multi routes. PS is the imaginary line between flags still in ACU handbook or has it also gone by the wayside
  2. I had wear in the plain end of the push in bush bolts or wear in the bush id. Tapped them out M10 (I think) and then used cap heads to bolt the sprocket staight into the bush. The circlp stops it coming off so no risk. Fitted alloy sprocket as well. Best of luck
  3. Had a play with twinshocks a few years ago and luv it. Still riding modern as well but find the old stuff really good fun and a real good craic. Hope you enjoy
  4. Brill Stuff stop/no stop. Limit rear suspension to 4" and see what happens. Nice to see some of these childhood heroes out and about again as shown in another recent psot

    2012 improvement?

On my 5th year on 4rts and love the fuel injection and quality of the bike. Ossa definately catches my eye as an engineer and the significant benefits of EFI. I have to confess I haven't ridden an Ossa but watched with interest. If history has any say in the matter then if still going strong after 3 years then definately worth a look. Currently I would say if you want one then have one but possibly still a risk. If you have seen local riders results significantly improve when switching to an Ossa then you have to weigh up results against risk of investment. They do howver when new look and sound to go well. Best you spend as much time as possible trying every alternative before you part with your cash.
  6. I think if you are good enough you dont't need to ask. In principal technique is throttle control, clutch control, balance and a bit of back brake!!!!
  7. Think you can buy perforated tube for motcross silencers if you don't fancy drilling a million holes
  8. If you want to save money in the long run buy a compressor or spare rear wheel. Then manage your good, part worn and well worn tyres to suit what you, the weather and venue are doing. Had 1 new IRc and 1 new Xlite this year and still both in ok condition and have ridden 3 S3s, 10 Normandales, 2 Welsh champs numerous centre hard, evening and esay trials and a fair few practice sessions.
  9. If I recall it should locate either end onto snall spigots on end caps. Also seem to think it was S shaped but can't be certain. Have a look at some of the previuos post and see if you can get a pdf of assembly drawing
  10. Suprising how many new bike blurbs start with the phrase new graphics. All marketing hype year on year to make you think you want a new bike or maybe you need to replace a year old bike that has worn out!!!!
  11. If they can't get up a grassy bank even if it is a 4rt then no great loss. Simple throttle control and body weight - simples!!! Red or white wine. Just enjoyed red so you probaly hate that and had white.
  12. Them inner tube things nearly worked apart from getting holes in that required them having to be taken out of the tyre and have patches glued on rather than dog turds a tubless tyre that takes 2 mins.
  13. Had IRC on 4rt rim this year and no problems lossing air. Did have it come off the rim tho without puncturing first, but maybe just running too low a pressure. Regardless of loosing air don't find them as good as a michelin anyway
  14. Shame best mod between std and Repsol. Would get std 2012 bike and buy a PTB with savings
  15. should have tried a 4rt instead -may still be riding trials
  16. Fit genuine Honda chain -bout
  17. Dabster - I think the thought is no stop would reduce severity or at least remove some of the do or die stuff which is only possible when an inch perfect line can be achieved. However your probably right in thinking that it ain't going to magically generate any more top quality riders or provide significant more sponsorship money to allow riders to travel round the country or world. If Bou and co rode no stop they would still be in a class of their own. Likewise in Britain James/Michael and co would still be able to master sections we lesser mortals could only dream of. It does though appear to work at S3 level etc where tough sections can be ridden by club-men yet take marks off the top boys. I guess time will tell
  18. Run a nice soft map and maybe down a tooth on the front and I see no drawbacks but I'm biased. Will be a bit heavier than GasGas but very good suspension and build quality. Post 2009 bikes are better if looking for second hand.
  19. Have a quick search through recent forums - think similar post was put up not so long ago. However probably bent selector shaft or damaged fork. I think clutch cover off and have a look to see whats happening. Best of luckhttp://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/38319-4rt-gearchange-problem/
  20. Anybody have accurate weight figures for say the latest gasgas frame compared to a evo frame for example. Ignoring swing arm and suspension etc. Might be a cost/compactness issue rather than weight?
  21. I think the Sains map is quiet heavy on fuel hence dark plug. Probably only way to get a true reading is to hold throttle open at 1/4 revs for a min or so and then hit kill button. However I have run std plug on Sains map for several years and now a slightly modified softer Sains map and bike runs fine and plugs last for as long as I want to leave them in. Therefore would say if bike runs well and to your liking and is not using oil don't worry about the plug colour. Just rely on the fact the clever Japs have got it right- I do.
  22. The switch to ally frame trials bikes seems to of been reversed recently with round section tubular steel frames ala gasgas/ossa being the new trend. Are these latest steel frames lighter than ally or comparable weight but being more compact allow for a neater overall package. (or is it cost against weight saving) Inquisitive engineer in me asking the question
  23. Given me lots of support and help also. Top man!!
  24. For a replacement std part would suggest MSport (Munch) Sandifords or Pidcocks. Original Honda/Montesa parts are surprisingly sensibly priced.
