Ah, thanks π..
A new friend of mine..Andrew,a member on here was kind enough to bring a few of his bikes up to ride.
My nephew and son rode his gas gas. 250 , and a gasgas 270, while Andrew rode his Montesa four stroke. I played a little bit. Then screwed up my knee.. figgers.
He also has a Yamaha ty250 .. but we didn't ride it.
But I liked it's looks..
Andrew was a super nice guy!!
I did get to ride his Montesa around my yard and barn. Wow! Awesome machine!! But. I've realized, my age and weight.. and limitations.. I'll mostly just plunk around in my woods. And yes, I need some type of seat..
Just something to catch myself, if my knee's give out ..
Realized..yes ,,I'm old and stiff..
So.. I think a classic old skool twin shock, will do me just fine.. probably be more Abel than I'll ever be.
Huge thanks to Andrew.

There might be the possibility, of a trade deal coming up...
I'll wind up with a TY175 ..
74' model I believe..
I like the looks of the twin shock classics, and those tiny little seats..
Give this fat man a place to rest. Ha.
Just saw a picture of a TY with modern forks and a disk brake.
Yes.. watching the classic trials videos on YouTube..
Those bikes are really neat.
-
That is simply beautiful β€οΈ
-
That..is just awesome π
-
Darn it.. now I want a TRS with electric start.....
-
Heck ? After watching the you tube review ..on trial tube..
Danny..says it's a very good bike.
Well... Just found out that the TRS also can be ordered with electric start.
-
Now I have to look up what a Drayton is..
Amazing how much I don't know....
-
Never mind me.. a lot Google Fu .. found out on my own..
AWESOME little bikes.
-
Until I found this site..
Never heard of a TRS..
Why you guys love em so much ?

Called the gas gas dealer in Missouri..
Super nice guy.. asking about parts availability..
He said they had lots of parts old stock..
Looking like I'll be able to keep it going.
Thanks guys

As far as mechanical abilities.. I'm not terrible.. I did replace the roller bearings in my hay baler..
But I'm also not good at it either..
I can get it done. But my son is a mercury marine mechanic.. hes good at itπ.

I will definitely be looking forward to meeting up with you.

Wonder if you would like to come up here and ride on my farm ? I'd feed ya!!
-
Interesting.. everything about trials.. bikes and the people , are interesting.
Some of these older twin shock bikes are as old as me.. how in the world do you guys find parts to keep them going ?
Just wondering about? Say I found an older gas gas ? (1999) A 270 to be exact.. will I be able to get parts ? Someone told me it would be difficult.. but, then I see these old classics restored..
They are beautiful π what's strange to me is... Why do I have an opinion? I know what looks/ style of bike I like.
I like the looks of the gas gas bikes..
We'll, truthfully.. they all look basically the same to me. Maybe it's because I like to say "Gas Gas" ..?? How dumb is that ?
We both know , you and I ..
That all I'll ever do is putt putt around the woods and my yard
Maybe I'll learn a few things. And get better..hope so.?

Clinton Missouri.. north of Springfield.
Hey thanks. I'd be interested in meeting up with you sometime.
Yes I'd also be interested about your bike. You'd have to tell me all about it. I know nothing about them.
Thank you !

Hello lowside ! Thanks for the reply.
Yes. I'll keep looking, hopefully something will pop up this summer.
I do have land. Woods and timber.
Old dry creek bed. I've rode motorcycle for many years. But my bikes got to big and heavy for me. Sold them lotta years ago.
Got an old Honda four wheeler to plunk around on , here on the farm.
I'll try to find a group or club . And go see what it's all about.
Thank you.

Hello from West central Missouri.
Older guy..I'm 62 years old.
Retired , and on fixed income. Social security. Been saving up for the last few years. Saved up 1500.00$
Been wanting a bike to ride. I do have a large yard here on the old farm.
Then I see a video of a trials bike.
I like the go slow part.
But anyhoo.. there's not much to pick from around here. Got on the web. Asking about a used bike.. 125cc ? Nothing. But I was absolutely shocked to find out what a new trials bike costs. Ten thousand dollars.. that completely blows me out of the water. So I've signed up on here.. hopefully someone not to far away, might have an older used bike. How in the world? And why do they cost so much ? (Edit)... Well.. big Charles motorsports in saint Louis has some new bikes . 6500.00 ..
Ouch.. just now reading more of the posts on here. Seems like most of you guys are overseas..
Way more trials bikes over there I guess.
Anyhow, I'm enjoying this site. Reading and trying to learn something.
But it looking like trials isn't affordable here in the states.
But ? All is not lost.. I do have an old Honda CM 91 super cub 90.. it's a 1969 model. I've seen the guys in the old days, put huge rear sprocket on it. And use it as a trail bike . Ah ?? Dunno.. give it a shot I guess.
-
I wish I could get into trials.
I'm old and on social security.
Fixed income..
But I do have 1500.00 saved up over the last three years.
Sure would like to find a good 125 for sale in the Midwest.
