  1. Cheers for that everybody. I am now going to weld my pegs as low and as far back as i can while still keeping the whole of the welds on the stong flat plate section of the frame as i am a big six footer! Best to get the position right with good advice before i spray the frame> John.
  2. Hi I am rebuilding a bultaco sherpa 250 with a view to having a go at twinshocking so am keeping it as original as possible but fitting it with practical bits as well. My question is i have just got some weld on big footrests from Dave Renhams to fit before i respray the frame and want to know if they should be fitted in the same position as the original puny items or is there a modification that would benefit the bike and me?ie upwards or backwards slightly? Thankyou in advance. John.
  3. cheers for that. i didnt think that the side panels and air box were right for it but they are in a lot better condition than the right bits i have so i think they will be staying on it. cheers again john
  4. can anyone tell me what the correct colour is to spray a 250 frame with 198a prefix and alloy bash bash plate and big air box sidepanels?silver wih red or blue tank or white with blue tank? cheers john
  5. Hi big John i have just had a look at my bike and the air box door is right hand side and shaped sort of taper style(3"down to 2")with a metal bracket on the back of the door and one on the outside of the air box on the left hand side. does this sound right to you for a bike with frame number jb-19902803. cheers for your replies john
  6. Cheers for that. i have looked at the carb i have and it is an amal with a bore measured at 30mm and a banjo type fitting on the float bowl where the fuel goes in. has anyone any idea if this is off any sort type of bulto at all and also whether the air box is right for my 78 350 as it is the type with the rubber mounted onto the filter and a little triangle door on the right hand side. sorry so many questions but im new to this game cheers
  7. Hi Can anyone tell me if the carb on my 78 350 should be an Amal with a flat plate choke lever and if it is should the gap between the airbox and carb be very small? Cheers
