Ha Ha Ha sorry i'm not lauging with you i'm lauging at you. The oil bit was there was a lot of un- burnt fuel so you get black oil. I took the exhust off to see if there was aything wrong there but I go the oil all over my hands. I have never opeded the engine, the only parts i take off are the back wheel, airbox and the carb and thats about it. I have a kiehin and found it way better than the dellerto. It gives you much more power when you open the throttle up, it makes the bike jumper which i like. The only way to find out if you like it is to find a bike with a kiehin on it and have a go on it and see what you think. Gavin

Right have said my stator might be going so i have to take off the left hand side cover off the engine. But my question is can i brake the seal ( you know the metal cover and the a seal that goes all the way round and the the engine block). So if i take the cover off can i re-use it, will i be ok if i put the cover back on with the same seal, or will i have to get a new seal. Gavin

I've taken the carb to bits and even the pilot jet out there is no dirt at all in the carb any more. What else could it be. Gavin

[/u]Ok i knwo but i'm in the middle of fixing my bike REV`er stop posting up stupid things my bike it not working ok not your bike so say out of this topic unless you have anything usfull to say!!!!!!! Anyway back to the bike I have gone over the carb again and there was a small bit of dirt i missed. The bike is running a bit better now that i have done that. But the bike does seem to cut out at low revs also when you blip the trottle there is about a second to half a second delay before the power kicks in. Gavin the bike starts fine by the way Haven said it may be the stator switch the spark might be very weak. So do you think it is worth getting some ones stator switch so see if it is.

Right Boys, Girls and bear bellie men I was talking to the company i deal with and they say it could be my (stator switch) it may by be that the spark my be weak so could it. Gavin No i is not parked against a walk, The rudder bits are fine, and i have give it a good blast opened it right up but still no good.

Chris that does not help me at all. I have just put a new spark pulg in because the other one was oily. The new one made a bit of a difference but the oil And smoke coming from the exhust is not really. Gavin So i still need help

Right i'm thinks of a swap of bike in 2005 and am looking at Sherco. The only point that puts me off buying a Sherco is it's frame. The Montesa has a solid, strong frame but to me the Sherco looks to have a week frame around where the shock and where the back mud guard sites. Gavin Can you give me your view on you Sherco frames

I was looking a sherco and was wonder. My Montesa has holes in the brake discs to clean the mud and rubbish that get caught up in the brake pads. The Sherco has just got flat discs and was think this might affect the proformance of the brakes. Could you tell me if this is a problem and could you get discs with them slots in them. Gavin

I ride a 2001 Montesa cota 315R. Easy bike to work at in general. Gavin

Sherco-dude just go for it 5 gear flat out (well thats what i would do). Gavin If you get stuck drag it out like i have done many times

Same all i have to do is take the tank off and take the slide out of the carb and can get carb off in about 1 minute. Or you can leave the tank on and take the carb out and pull the trottle cable through if you want so all you have to do is losen the clips and thats it Gavin

What thats nearlly a meter deep are you sure!!!!! When there there is deep mud in frond of me get the bike up to speed in 4 and lift the front wheel just before it and then keep the revs going nice and smooth. Try and not spin the back wheel and that will lose you grip and then you get stuck. Gavin

Soap on hot water thats what i use gets all that oily stuff out. After you have washed it leave it to dry and then when you put it back in your bike add some air filter oil. Gavin
