  1. yes i agree with last post looks like yamaha xt250 top end
  2. it must be worth that, look at specks it has a frame mounted kill switch
  3. it sounds like main bearings to me.allowing the main seals to suck in gearbox oil.
  4. i saw that on telly.good to see you up and about, take it steady, try getting your mates to join you doing trials can be great fun.
  5. it has the cb125s from about 1973 head
  6. go in the deep end nene valley got trial this sunday duck end near cranford 10.30.check out web site,i dont know how to link it.
  7. i fell in love with those wheels on the mechatecno,i took loads of photos when they came to uk world trial, was it in wales?i wanted to make some for my tl125 at the time,i was thinking of useing rear wheel from a honda 125 twin but i was stuck with front wheel to match, then they got banned what a shame.
  8. thats neat,a bloke called andre baldet lived in northampton im sure he died last year ran a motorcycle shop in northampton as a publicity stunt in the 1960s went up snowdon on a scooter im not sure which one vespa or lambretta.
  9. do not try to adjust float height, people do this and bugger bike up,sounds like it needs a filter on petrol pipe
  10. no stopping for quick stop,i observe sometimes this will make marking a lot easier,a lot of riders have a stop for a second so i have allways let them get away with it,the only way to make trials no stop is to take the clutch lever of bikes as they enter section, then we could limit each bike to a qaurter of throttle, then make all riders use old tyres with max 2mm tread, then all bikes to be 50 years old with no mods.that will stop people coming to trials.well done acu in at last doing the right thing.when i used to ride reguarly 10 years ago we had good entries with 2009 rules.with preasant rules entries gone done, if we get 30 riders at moment we think it a good entry.
  11. dont bother.frame very heavy, engine no power.i used to have one i bought a fraser frame put in motorsport engine rode once took engine out again put motorsport back together again and sold it.i then had good idea i put engine out of standard 250 rs twin port taking out balancer weights and rode for 2 years in trials,i even found a genuine factory rtl 250 alloy petrol tank.i sold it to a bloke not far away from me,he wanted it for green laneing,i met him again few years later he put on larger tank, and threw away rtl tank down tip.what would tank be worth on ebay now.
  12. i doubt the spark plug is problem unless it melted and fell apart.if you mean cylinder head is damaged it would be broken a piston ring normaly that damaged the head, the chances are there is damage to barrel.
  13. i think the engine is based on sr125.if so try taking the right hand cover of then clutch .you will see the selector drum and gear change arm,you should be able to work out what s wrong.i would say the bolt holding drum on is loose or fell of.
  14. i would love it, bit over priced.
  15. .did you oil plates when putting together.drum is loose thats normal.if you mean from cold when first starting with new clutch it makes noise and it was ok before then poss plates wrong way round.or oil filter not tight.
  16. mine has oil tank that is filled up front of petrol tank in frame, when i bought it it still had indicators and lights.that lot soon got taken of,also oil pump on engine,so perhaps honda also made a trials version like the 240 and 250 and 260,i have ridden them all,my favorite is the 240 then the 200.the 250 and 260 were far to powerfull for me they kept spinning the back wheel to much.the 200 is perfect as a starter bike nice and soft power delivery, when it comes to a big uphill it will bog a bit unless you do airbox mod,it wont spoil the bike at lower revs.
  17. i prefer picture 3,i reckon its got a xl125 petrol tank, would make it ideal for the scott.
  18. i got a tlm200 i have heard of r type.these bikes are made for trail riding.but make very reliable trials bike ideal for basic clubman riding.you wont need any spares as they never go wrong.things like brake shoes are same as tlr250. sprockets availble no problem rear wheel same as tlr250,engine parts like clutch same as mtx 200.i used to have tlm240 and rode every weekend for many years and never had head of.mudgaurd front normal pattern type but rear very hard to get i have modified pattern one to fit.air filter needs throwing away cut out webing inside and take off rubber top,and fit a rtl250 airfilter but they are getting to hard to get now a chap in japan has box loads of them, but he dont understand english,so for the moment im using montesa 314r air filter with home made simple cage out of coat hanger wire, this really helps to get the engine revving out gives a lot more power,i did the same with my tlm240.
  19. sounds like master cylinder problem.you could try using one from another bike,if that gets pressure up your old master needs new seal kit.fairly cheap and easy to do.
  20. i know a bloke with one they are very slow 0-60 possibly the slowest car on the road.and mpg the worst van he has ever had.speed dont bother me much but mpg important to me.so i stopped looking for one,i was offered a serana for
  21. i would say if its flooding dont ever touch float height adjustment, thats not the reason its flooding, too many people go down this route and mess the bike up,i have been working on bikes for 30 years and never have i had to touch float height.the chances are a speck of dirt on needle or seat 99% of the time.try putting a inline filter on fuel pipe.
  22. earth out the wire going to coil, not the green one
  23. cant help with lift dont forget nene valley mcc,we run great trials.
  24. for some reason its running weak, maybe simple blocked pilot jet thats the very small one you see after taking of float chamber,or you have run out of petrol,or the worst bit crank seals leaking if you have odd smell and smokey exhaust its the clutch side,if not its the mag side, this is just a guide.
