  1. Ive heard thru the grapevine pro class entries of Aaron,Smage,Webb,Wineland, r. Young,Chavez does anyone know if this is correct or if there is any additions to the list. I saw Kempkes (last years winner) at a show nearby a couple of weeks ago and he said he had another show to do that weekend.
  2. do you mean most dependable or cheapest to operate there can be a difference?
  3. i also heard several other names rumored for the pro class does any one know for sure? i think it was like 126 riders last year, great riding area and with gas currently at least for a short time anyhow a little cheaper this event should be worthy of a good road trip for those who live a distance off.
  4. what about the west coast youth nationals last year i couldnt find any results on any website will it be the same this year?
  5. once again dan is the man with the plan. I think i understand the new structure if i do it will make the experienced youths more challenged and most importantly those whose level is not there yet a better avenue of competition. 2 years ago homer first event ever was at the youth nationals the 2nd day the winner had 1 pt he had 50 something. This year the event needed some rain to be a bit more challenging we had a great time all 3 times plan for next year ithink for the whole week looks like it will be a shorter week that weill make it possible. besides the camp i have to choose between thanksgiving and hopefully world round next year with national. I sure envy alan b and brian just an hour or 2 or3 away.
  6. My girls who dont ride had a blast want us to go to the whole week next year which ill probly not have the time or money for. Lane thats the best post youve ever had pretty it sums up a great week.
  7. spinner, glad to see you made it in. We rolled in at 2:30 last night. I too enjoyed visiting with alan and hanna. Brian, Katy already ripped her rear fender on the amigo another homer in the making????? plus a crash with sarah on katys old 50. Les, i cant imagine how you keep up. congatiulations to the Mizell boys and impressive bunch all the way around not just riding ability. I got to speak a little with Lane he's not such a bad guy after all??? Daniel seemed real prepared to ride, what a nail biter. Steve thanks for all the last minute preps on the bike i think everybody in missouri is going to want to upgrade their clutch spring. yes the ttc done a wonderful job I am sorry i complained about the event being too easy if we had got the usual rain it would have been a different story. I think Homer having to ride under pressure like that really helped him. Homer was out practicing for next year today real determined however fire crackers ,video games ,basketball ect. may win over some before the years out at least the girl thing isn't occuping his time too much yet. Brenda has turned into a real trials mom informed me we had to go to world round again next year if it is at ttc again. I know i have left several out thanks to everybody we had a great time and can't wait till next year.
  8. sting 32 They go by the age as of jan 1 2006 which i think in your case would be 11 however the 11 year olds still ride line 2 which would be fairly simimular to the amatuer class at the central regionals (maybee just a small bit harder) not any more dangerous possibly a little more technical. He could ride exhibition line 3 not be eligible for trophies. line 3 seems to me to be equal to central regional novice. Its a fantastic place to ride riding in the afternoon and plenty of other things for kids to do a real family atmosphere. And as in any trials event ive been to a fun bunch to hang out with. If you go look me up ill be in cabin 3 ??? i think. ariving friday morning
  9. should be ariving late thursday or early friday
  10. why did i start?. started in 77 read about trials bikes in dirt bike magaines there were several articles back then. saw a used ossa mar at a dealership and traded a rm125 for it. rode for less than a year got busy milking cows and basicly quit for 26 years why did i start again? thought it might be fun for my 9 yr old son was also joined soon by my 24 year old son. Why do i continue? can answer in one word addicted What can we do to get more people riding? I dont know about the rest of the U.S. but its happening here even without a club we have grown from 20 riders when we started 3 years ago to 40 now (springfield Mo) gaining 5 or 6 in last 2-3 months. almost every one of them former woods riders or former trials riders getting back to the sport. just my opinion but if everyone would spend a little time on their local enduro harescrambles forum talking about trials the results would be surprizing.
  11. im going to have too join in here im by no means as knowlegable about trials in general as many of the people on this forum. i dont really have much to say that brian r and alan b hasnt already said. common sense tells me that added regulations isnt the answer, if i understand previous post now in europe a youth is not even allowed to ride bigger than a 125 for insurance reasons. If 2 stroke are outlawed in europe are we going to outlaw them here. I have a 12 year old on a 280 the reason so if we have a bike down when were riding at home we can trade off plus i really cant afford to trade up every year. I/we have no visions of him becoming a world champ rider just having fun. as ive stated before if he happens to beat a better rider who is ridding a 125 isnt more competion what the 125 rider with visions of europe needs. seems to me the reason we arent competitive is because of distance to travel for events. i bet if you took all the US riders and grouped them in a small area like spain. and took all the spanish riders and scattered them across the US it wouldnt be long and things would equal out. more people riding trials here in the US will produce the competitive riders we need. This topic started out on a positive note about a famous bycycle getting a trials bike and what pr it might bring to trials here in the US and has kinda ended up trashing natc and trials in general here in the US. If we spent as much time practicing with our youth and promoting trials as we do talking about some magic regulation i think we would make more progress.
  12. I noticed kempkes wast listed anyone know whether hes riding any nationals. Last fall in oklahoma he edged out a couple of the riders listed in the poll

    Xispa?

I found these intersting also http://www.osetbikes.com/ anybody know about them
  14. 140 bikes per year in austrailia and canada anyone know how many in us and how many in europe. is the us declining or growing over last 5-10 years?
  15. alan, your last comment seems to me to be right on the money. Im confused about all this 125 talk anyway. Would this include the youth nationals? Some of us have only the time or money for one national or maybe the youth nationals. If one of these less serious youth has a unfair advantage with a 200 or full size bike and pushes a 125 bound for europe rider wouldnt that be more competion and a good thing.
  16. since ive already got him on a 200 i hate to switch back to 125 does anyone know whether 06 200 has more power than 05 200 or any differences other than forks. also i think the 06 125 has big forks also any problems there. I can get a good deal on a 04 used (but not a lot) ive heard 05 has more power improved rear shock compared to 04. Im probly over analizing this purchase but plan on him keeping it a good while.
  17. planning on replacing my 11 year old sons 03 200 pro with either low houred 04 200 pro new left over 05 200 pro or new 06 200 pro. Is there much advantadge to 05 06. The way i understand it the 06 has 40mm marz forks without aluminum tubes my son weighs 90 lbs. The old forks are a little lighter however i have had fork seal problems with them. Any one had any experiences performance wise with 03 compared to 04 05 06. btw The 03 has been a very dependable bike replacing only the fork seals and a few broken levers.
  18. spinner tell josh, Homer and i convey congrats on state series and 2nd place almost first central regionals. We know all about those dreadful 5s Homer got a couple of them that dropped him 8 places in the Oklahoma event. Homer likes riding intermediate becuse theres less pressure for one thing. i think i want him riding amatuer also so he can overcome the pressure. Sure wanted to attend last weekend but had work issues we may not get a chance to ride another event untill youth nats. Guess the both of you will be riding same lines (at regional events anyhow). Should be a lot of fun. I need to practice practice practice maybe next year i can ride in the afternoon with you all. if not i can mind for homer i guess. btw How did dabs a lot do?
