rear shock 35.000 euro's ( thats development costs included ) and i've heard the whole bike 300.000 (again development costs incl.)
big difference is the weight of the bike (+- 65 kg) and the power ( 300 cc and very trick injection ignition ) and suspension
but the stock 4rt is a nice bike to ride not as capable like the 2 stroke stuff but more than capable for 90% of trials riders

watch out for Nictou ( the son)
kind regards bob

really great event good sections and close together so you could see them all without walking miles
poor observing in some sections but most observers where doing a great job just the catering was a bit of a disaster
and they should have put a big screen on the central place so one could follow the scores
i hope there is a round in france next year again
-
i also fitted bosch super plus yttrium plugs +8
-
higher compression
and bigger flywheel
-
i had a 2007
it didn't start good eater
changed the 28mm kehin for a 24mm oko and it was perfect

hi
i was in the same situation, in 2010 i was riding a sherco 320 and went for a 250 Gas Gas
its the right bike for me i couldn't control the power of the big sherco and tried a 300 raga and it was clearly not a bike for me
a mate who has ridden Gas Gas 300's for years had a go on it and ended up ordering a 250 (he is an expert rider but the 300 was to fierce)
have a go on the 250 and 300 and see for your self
kind regards bob
-
the Gas Gas is lighter and more powerful but the beta is a bit easier to ride for novice riders build quality is good i have a 2010 250 and didn't had to do anything other than change the oil and air filter and cleaning the bike
-
Hey,
i broke the black plastic cage that holds the fan on the radiator on my Gas Gas can i order this part or do i need to order a new radiator ?
kind regards bob
-
and it is a lot cheaper than the neb clutch and no need for special axles in the gearbox
-
best to change the camchain when you take the top of the engine just to be sure
-
Pete Kirby's clutch and hpi ignition
-
hey,
i did just that
the clutch is superb and belt drive works perfect just bolt on and forget
ignition same thing it takes 20 min to fit and works well
kind regards bob
-
hey a good twinshock is a nice bike to ride and easy to live with
the are well build and you dont loose money on them like on modern bikes
best ones and a lot of spares
yamaha ty
honda tlr
fantic
best regards bob
-
i once collected a tlr 200 from the uk to belgium in the back of my passat no problem just took the front forks out but front wheel would have been enough
-
what you need is a tlr 200 (red white blue) they have alloy wheels and a 35 mm front fork the reflex has steel wheels and a 32 mm fork
a yamaha ty 175 is a good bike and will be cheaper
-
from 2011 Gas Gas has a better frame more stable and a bit more grip,
a Gas Gas is a reliable bike now (the first pro had some problems) it just needs more care than a montesa
check bolts, change gearbox oil and airfilter in time and keep it clean and no problem
the are competition ready for the highest level others aren't ( rear shock of a sherco is rubbish)
no needs for tuning parts its all on there.
be careful with 300 and 280's they are very powerful and not so forgiving

Hey,
i find the Gas Gas the lightest bike and the easiest to hop and fire up steps
it isn't the easiest bike to ride but i think its the best you can get for the better rider (mine is a 2010 the 2011 on are more stable)
i had a 4 rt and a 4stroke sherco before and the power delivery on a 250 Gas Gas is a lot smoother and it grips very good and it has the best suspension of them all
i have no experience on a ossa so can't comment on that.
best regards bob
-
hey
if u are running fast between sections put it on sun or the bike could overheat (not enough pre ignition)
the difference is not that great at low revs but on high revs there is a difference i only use sun setting on my bike but thats a 250
best regards

easter weekend classic clubman in aywaille
really nice trial

hello,
i had an 2007 320 and they get really hot, i had a few burnmarks on my arms from the exhaust
i can a 24 mm oko carb and my bike was a first kick starter hot or cold
i took the automatic decompresser out so no more strange noise it needed a firm kick but it was working fine
they are great bikes and you can make them grip better by increasing the flywheelweight (not a simple job but i can give you the phone number of someone who does it for you)
enjoy the bike and change engine oil frequently

trick james or cub for those who like 4strokes (me )
bsa can go very well but it is not easy to build one that's really good and they are heavier than a cub or a james

Hello,
my bsa jumps out of 1st gear, it has been running for 5 trials since opening the engine without problems.
now suddenly it jumps out of first gear what could be wrong?
2nd gear seems to be fine 3th and 4th too.
when i run around in low revs it seems to be fine but when i go uphill and give it some throttle it jumps in neutral
it doesnt make scary noises just clik and out of gear.
anyone can give me some hints where to start? i need the bike next weekend for a trial so i have to work fast.
anny help apreciated!
best regards bob

my bsa has a B40 road engine with wd gearbox cluster and a low compression piston (7/1)
it runs on a digital electronic ignition set to be quite soft but it revs well the bike grips really good
i find the bike a bit to soft sometimes, i'm thinking to try a B50 cylinder and piston on a B40 crankshaft (around 390cc) and maybe alter the compression a bit to 8.5/1
i run a 24 mm mikuni carb
best regards bob
-
hey Charlie,
the bike sure looks good but what is special on the engine?
are there things to change on a C15 (mine is a b40) to turn them into a better trials engine ?
best regards bob
