  1. my bike died and doesn't start anymore, i checked the sparkplug and it still gives a spark but not a very bright one, it looks a bit black to so mayby to rich? i got a extra set of jets whit my bike. what should the jetting be its an 250 and it has an delorto carb 26 mm? i live in Belgium nearly sea level, when it was running it was great, started first kick and idles nice no flat spots so mayby just a faulty plug or jetting to rich? maybe mix screw not right? i didn't change anything yet. best regards bob
  2. ok tnx i was getting worried, its my first gasgas and i like it a lot, had a 4rt and a sherco 320 before so i'm a bit uncomfortable at start but it improves fast the bike is very light and im still using to much force when riding best regards bob
  3. Hey my gasgas 250 pro (3 days old) makes a ratteling noise when i pull the clutcht leaver in it stops is this normal for a gasgas or is there a problem? best regards bob
  4. so not a problem then? mine works fine just the noise what oil do you use in the gearbox? best regards bob
  5. hey my bike makes a clattering noise when in neutral or when running on flat ground on idle speed when i use the clutch or accelerate the noise stops is this normal the bike is 2 days old best regards bob
  6. Hey, i just got a new bike gasgas 2010 250, what should i check/change before riding? i had a little ride yesterday and the front caliper came loose, should i check all bolts? i also want to remove the lights and display, any tips here? is there a diagram how the wires should go when all non essential bits are removed? should i grease the bearings or is this done in the factory? what oil/fuel ratio to be used? (i'm used to 4stroke so i have no idea but 2% seems a lot to me) best regards bob
  7. I have this on my 250 it helps to keep the kickstart in 1 piece they are not strong enough! best regards bob
  8. yep thats why decompressers are used, and to make life easier for kickstarts, shafts and so on but if you start your bike like you should there are no problems, if you start jumping on the kickstart then it will not last long best regards bob
  9. Hey, i'm running my bike without the decompressor and it works fine. no more rattle at low revs and starts very good. it needs a good prod but it works ok best regards bob
  10. can i just fit one of these or do i have to balance the engine after fitting this?
  11. Thats normal, you get used to it no prob. best regards bob
  12. is it a 250 ? a friend of me has an 260cc those are proper hrc bikes very rare best regards bob
  13. if you are used to a high reving bike it will not be a problem, i could not cope whit it (ride a sherco 320) i stall 125' s all the time and find them very low on power in low revs but great fun at high revs, but i guess its just what you are used to. best regards bob
  14. hey, you could consider an 26 mm oko flatslide they are great cabs and very cheap, a 28 mm on a 125 makes it go very good in high revs but you loose bottom end no problem if you ride a high level but if you ride a lot on lower revs you will feel the difference. best regards
  15. hey I think to that riding twinshock to makes you a beter rider, even on a modern bike we have some events here that are modern but not to much hopping just floing sections on hils and i usually beat the riders that only ride modern style where as in the modern style events i struggle a bit more. but here modern trials are moastly in in the winter and the nice oldtimer trials are in spring and summer so thats perfect for me best regards bob
  16. hey, on my bike when i have trouble starting its 9 times out of 10 the spark plug it still seems to work fine ( nice spark if you check it) but the bike will not run i cant help on the carb side mine has an oko 24 mm and it works great. best regards bob
  17. Hey i have a Bsa B40 GD now but i would like my bike to be a bit more nervous and powerfull. the bike has a standard piston for now but i would like to know if there if a piston available that gives higher compression (from a road version of the b40?) and can i just change my piston ( it has a flat surface) for a high compression piston or do i have to balance the flywheel and do other stuff to my engine? best regards bob
  18. Hey, you are not doing something wrong, you are learning. trials is not easy and you do need to practice a lot but it will go better soon try to get some advice from better riders and learn the basics first. you will see its a lot of fun best regards bob
  19. hey, i'm one of the lucky guys riding twinshock (honda tlr and bsa b40) and modern bikes, i like the twinshock bikes more than modern bikes. My honda is 100% reliable and i have nearly no work on this bike, just change the oil every 4 events and clean the air filter. brakes are very good and i clean them only when needed (after a very wet and muddy trial). i ofter ride modern trials on the honda and i get better results on my honda in very slippery conditions. Later twinshocks are very reliable and capable of doing things most modern riders can only dream of and they keep there value. modern bikes are great fun to and they are easier to start on but stay away from the big cc bikes (sherco 290, 320, gasgas 300, 280, ...) to my idea one of the best newcomer bikes is the little scorpa 175 4 stroke. best regards bob
  20. hey, they are the best pants you can get on a hot day i use them for 3 years now best regards
  21. hey, i find not being allowed to walk the sections on the day a stupid rule on the level these boys ride you need to know 100% what you are doing and what is coming next or people will get hurt. The 1 min for a section is no longer trials riding, trials was never about speed best regards bob
  22. hey, a 200 carb will work fine i think the are the same carbs (22mm keihins) or is yours a 24mm? my 250 runs perfect on a 22mm carb. best regards bob
  23. hey, clean you float needle that will cure your problem and fit a good fuel filter best regards
  24. hey, i use a stock steel tank and the hose is not blocked the bike works great but only 1 trial a year i have those problems, i clean the cooling fins after each section becorse i know the 250 doesn't like it when the engine gets to hot regards bob
  25. some spainards had those on their bikes last weekend in Aywaille, they seemed to work good, those bikes where very trick an ossa a montesa and a bultaco best regards bob
