hey
my sherco's frontbrake doesnt work well in wet or muddy conditions anyone knows what to do?
are there different breaking pads who work better in the wet?
bike is a 2007 4stroke

hey,
you should use the engine power when hopping, use your clutch when you hop,
when you get this technic you can hop the front and rear on an ariel so weight is no problem
i ride my honda tlr like this in modern trials and it works fine it weighs 90 kg but hopping it without clutch is very heavy work
check how good riders in your area use the clutch when they hop the bike, timing is very important

hey,
the spitback problem on 4 strokes is mainly related to carburation, air filter, and exhaust.
my honda tlr had the same problem but a new carb and proper setup solved this problem, also using the stock exhaust, on the wes exhaust my bike didn't run good.
my sherco 4stroke is perfect, no spitback perfect starting again thanks to a new carb and good setup
my b40 runs on a amal (new one) and never had this problem
i guess bikes who have a spitback problem have a carburator thats used or set up incorrect (assuming the ignition is ok and valve clearance is ok)
after 20 years a carb is just worn, a new needle and jets will not solve the problem.

Hey,
i'm looking for a used sherco exhaust for the 4 stroke.
my bike has the racing exhaust and its a bit loud, i'm looking for a 2005 4 stroke exhaust (same as the low noise version)

hey
i have the same thing on my 4stroke clutch is quite on/off
would the trick with 4 springs iso 6 work on the 320?
is there a master cilinder with smaller piston then what sherco uses?

hey
mine is not so gently in low revs (2007 seems to be more agressive )
anyone who knows what changed from 2007 to 2008 the 2008 seems softer (and less noisy, 2007 has the racing exhaust)
the bike would benifit from a bigger flywheel but its fun to ride and works wel.

hey,
i ride an 2007 320 sherco and i like it a lot.
it is not the easiest bike to ride but its a lot of fun.
the bike feels light and nimble and is very powerfull
clutch is a bit on off and rear suspention is not super
my bike starts in 2 kicks hot or cold no problems and i didn't had any problem so far

hey,
i use a good quality 4 stroke racing oil (synthetic) sae 10-40W and change it often

hey
i had a go on the cotswold bsa and its one of the best bikes i've tried so far together with the cotswold majesty/chinese honda.
i guess no fantic or honda would come close to the way these bikes go. but idd you are right the rider is more important than the machine in trials.

hey,
the spares are not bad but cylinder and piston are very rare and overbore is not an option, a lot of the parts are the same on the tlr 200/250 also wheels and forks from tlm250 are similar. If the engine is in good condition no probl. they last long if oil is changed regulary.

-
hey,
spares are easy to find for the Yam not so sure for the kt

hey
i always ride irc on my honda tlr, for older riding style they are the best i've tried so far.
they work verry good in cold wet end muddy conditions. They are not verry good in hot conditions on rocks (to supple and not verry stable) on my modern bike i use them in winter and X11 in summer.

hey,
are those the all the trials?
no more Aywaille or Austria/Itally?
Do you need to ride all the trials or is ther a system like 4 out of 5 results count?

hey,
i guess the swm rides a bit like a bultaco, i rode a bultaco (1978 325) and now ride a tlr 250.
On the hard route a bultaco is not the easiest bike to ride, the honda goes a lot better for me.
but it all depends on the event and the riding style the honda is better for people who ride modern style in tight events
i found my honda 100% reliable and like it a lot but i understand that many people don't like them
the clutch is not good and overheats fast and the engine is verry peppy
i like the way a fantic 300 rides to the 240 seems to small for me (footpegs verry high on that bike)
regards bob
ps anyone knows how wel a ccm 350 rides?
-
tnx for that info!
any adress where i can get a joining link?
regards bob
-
hey
if you have the workbook of the tlr you just order the parts (partsnr in the book) any honda dealer can orther them;
if you don't have the book just ask the number of the piece you need, i have the book and will look it up for you

hey
I guess some of the trick pre 65 bikes are a lot beter than any stock twinshock bike,
i rode a very trick bsa this summer and its a lot better than a honda tlr or a fantic 300;
i also tested a cotswold 4 stroke and i dont think any stock T shok even comes close tho that
if you talk about stock bikes i guess a mayesty or a fantic would be the best option
(not for me i stick to my 4 stroke bikes)

Looks nice,
i didn't know building a trick cup was that easy you can just buy the right stuff and fit it or is that not the case?.
anyone knowing a web site where they sell trick bsa parts? (high top gear, good trials clutch, 400 cc kit, frame,...)
would it be possible to put a B40 in a cup frame?
regards bob
-
Hey,
what size of sprockets should be on the primary drive of a b 40 for trials use (it's the wd gearbox)?
on my bsa the chain is verry loose and the chain tensioner is fully in so i guess the chain is to long or the sprocket is to small?
can you get the chains in different sizes? or can you just take a link out the chain?
regards bob
-
hey
are those racing cdi's progamable?
would they fit on a honda tlr250?
so i could change the advance curve the stock cdi has (full advance comes to quick for trials use)
