Finally finished the rebuild project of my 200 pro, been out for a test run this morning and its still awsome, just looks better.
-
Eddie how did you register your 200?
-
Try simply bearings on the net, very good service and easy to find what you want.
-
Think they are different too, I got one off Steve Goode Motorcycles, I sent him my crank and it come back all done.
-
Ive got the same a 125 pro with a 200 barrel, Im pretty sure (but may be wrong!) there never was a 200 pro manufactured by fantic they were just converted.
They are great little bikes, im sure you will like it, if not it will sell easy.
-
Can you post a pic of the exhaust? Are you sure it hasnt got a 156 barrell on it?
-
Yes they can be welded by someone who can weld aluminium not a problem, I know people in the North Wales area if you around their.
-
Fiberglass tanks can be sealed with a Caswell Kit very good, sealed my fantic one perfect. I think they do a kit for aluminum tanks if hole isnt too big but probably best get it welded, it should weld okay for someone who is good with a tig.
-
Bill Pye - Frankfield Motors
Steve Goode Motorcycles
Bob Wright motorcycles
Try any of the above
-
I know racks have been around for years and I have used one many times, but most towbars are limited in there down force weight less than what your bike will weight. It is tow bar for pulling not sitting 70kg on, check what the spec says on your towbar, Ive justed fitted a towbar to my van and the down force was 65kg max.
-
I think you decided wisely, Plenty of people on here will direct you down the right route for the carb, whats wrong with the exhaust? Carbs do wear out but personally the original exhaust will be the best, burn it out to make sure its clean, then if required mod an alloy MX silencer.

A 240 is a 212cc have a look on the centre casings above the front sprocket thats where engine number and cc is stamped, the red round disc on the other side (clutch cover) should give a FM 450, FM 237 or something like that
-
Excellent trial on Sunday, 1 lap 40 sections around a forest run by the Llanfylin club, only a few entries left, and more mid wales than north! other than that have a look on the cheshire and north wales web site (cnwtrials)
-
Phone is probably at the bottom of the pile of cub parts! Best hope he hasnt started on your fork legs as well !!
-
Yes steering angle pulled in but not a lot, less than 2mm taken out of bottom of headstock
-
Just a few more test rides and ill strip down to powder coat etc.
-
I think they should have all of them bits, they should be the same forks
-
Im with Hewson on this, dont think they did make an actual 200 pro.
Mine is a FM237 stamped 124.4 on cases but been fitted with 156cc barrel, Frame difference is no loop under flywheel cover (right) as can be seen on picture above, the 240 does have a protection loop as flywheel cover is wider.
Personnaly they are the best twinshock out there.
-
Its a long time since I rode a bultaco but it wasnt a patch on the fantic, but bultacos have been modified a lot making them better these days.
There is a classic trial at Llangollen this weekend, my old 200 will probably be there, dont think I will make it. (if your still in North Wales)
-
If you can do a bit of fabricating yourself, get an alloy can off ebay from a mx bike, 125 or 250cc then adapt your wes pipe inlet to fit the mx can. They work really well ive even used a carbon fibre one that was good.
-
Only my opinion but the 200 is most fun! lighter, lively and will go anywhere a 240 wil go. Im 6ft 4 and 85kg my forward kick 200 goes everywhere I point it, I would put it on the top of my bike list and I must have 20+
-
More than half the riders out their are over cc'd with their bike, a 200cc would be ample, you just might have to wait a while till they make one, try a 200 evo, I think you will be suprised
-
Ive always found changing the clutch for a CR 250 think 1989 works wonders for clutch drag and putoline light gear or ATF, Changing oil wont get the old oil off the friction plates, that will be soacked in by now.
-
Does the clutch engage when the engine is running?
-
Hi Pat, I take it you have the information about my Dads Bulto off my brother when you bought it. Sadly I dont have any photos but I will ask my mum next time I see her. I would be interested in seeing any photos you have or recieve.
