well said the WTC is irrelevant to Trials as a sport we participate in most weekends. The WTC can do what the hell it wants it's what happens at Club and Centre trials that really matters. Most riders never even mention the BTC never mind the WTC and couldn't name last years top 3 if asked cos they don't really give a toss about the WTC or BTC for that matter just what they ride.

Plus you can get parts for the Bultaco but will struggle for the Montesa.
-
Read Cabestany's comments. Gave me a headache trying to follow it. Can anybody translate into proper English. That was like trying to read a post by Bondy.

We do get , unfortunately not this good an entry, riders who habitually "miss" sections which surprise surprise usually are the ones with tricky rocks or slimy stream sections then you see them doing the section 3 times when it's become more of a main road. Personally I think it's blatant cheating but unless someone protests I cant do much about it as if nobody does protest then the conclusion is everybody is happy about it happening. still think it's wrong though and I have had a quiet word with people about their behaviour from time to time.
Anyway great turnout for the club and credit due where it is most certainly deserved as they do put on good and popular trials.

What a difference a month makes ? Last months trial it was touch and go if we could run or not due to snow and after a lot of shovelling the trial went ahead. This month we were blessed with almost perfect conditions with bright sunshine and dry grippy rocks the order of the day.
A good turn out of 50 odd riders were treated to 4 laps of 10 sections comprising of rocks, sandy climbs and the odd stream section thrown in for good measure. All that this very popular venue is renowned for.
Best ride of the day must go to Ian Margetts who piloted his Fantic to record a superb faultless performance on the Expert route to easily win the category. Truly a masterclass performance leaving local ace Robert Carson on his Yamaha trailing in second place losing 11 marks although the fight for second and third was close because Mark Hallows, Majesty, ran him close finally taking third on 12 marks.
Roberts dad Peter riding his springer Bantam for a change took the honours in the Classic Expert class with a winning score of 6.
Classic Expert Twinshock was fought nip and tuck with Peter Kearsley, Honda, eventually coming out the victor over Tony Sprinks on his Bultaco with Peter losing 51 to Tonys 59.
The Intermediate classes are seeing a revival in popularity of late and Dave Pattison cruised to a win on his Bultaco in the Twinshock category for a very credible loss of just 7 ahead of Andrew Slack and Chris Riley both Fantic mounted tieing on 13 marks with Andrew taking the tie decider on most cleans. Well fought guys.
Classic Intermediate Twinshock was a more clear cut affair with all top three places taken by Honda riders. Sean Wickstead having the best result losing just 3 marks all on section 5 a tricky climb over tree roots and rock steps. John Morley followed in second on 9 and a very unlucky Pete Elvidge who had three fives to record a total loss of 15 marks. How different the scores could have been but congratulations to Sean on a great ride on the day.
Clubman British Bike was an interesting competition with three Classic riders on three Classic bikes. All three of these riders are competing for honours in the over 60’s Championship as well as the Clubman Championship. At the age of 73 Arthur Thomkinson on his Greeves complete with leading link forks came out on top with a loss of 43 from Dave Pickering on his Francis Barnett who lost 56 and with Ray Critchlow also well into his 70’s taking third on 66 marks. Great performance guys I take my hat off to all of you.
Finally we come to Clubman Twinshock and Mick Naden, Yamaha, had the best score of 26 marks from Championship contender Kev Rivington also Yamaha mounted on 38 marks with Paul Smedley coming in third on 40 marks lost. Another closely fought battle which is great to see.
Well lets just hope the fantastic support we have received this year continues especially at our next trial which is at Dudwood Farm on Sunday 26th May start 11.00 am.
See you there

FWIW one for the first video but very very borderline but would have given him the benefit of the doubt but most certainly a resounding 5 for the second vid blatant disregard for the idea of no stop.

As the title says this Sunday sees Peak Classic Trials Club hold round 3 of their Club Championship at Bracken rocks near Holloway, Derbyshire DE4 5AS. Start time 11.00 am.
There will be classes for British bikes, Pre85 Twinshocks and Pre95 air cooled monos.
Expert, Classic Expert, Intermediate, Classic Intermediate and Clubman routes
The PB Trialsport van will also be in attendance for your trials consumables and accessories.
So come along 4 laps of 10 sections for a great Sunday out in the Derbyshire Peak District.

Locally I would try Entex springs on Glaisdale drive in Nottingham but you may have a supplier more local?
-
How much experience of air cooled trials engines do you have ? just asking as they and especially TY's are a bit mechanically noisy anyway. Have you ridden listened to another one for comparison as it might just be "normal"

Cant you see it's peoples frustration with the apparent lack of action and support from those that we were brought up to believe were there to protect us that prompts the responses? OK they are arguably better than nothing however it cant just be dogma that makes so many disillusioned in those that year on year cost us community charge payers more and more whilst all the other contributors to that charge have not, in my area anyway, increased their % by one penny for the last three years. I live barely 2 miles as the crow flies from Derbyshire Police HQ and all I ever see is Police cars and vans driving round oh yes and that bloody helicopter 24/7 but do you actually see them doing anything else ? Have you ever been on the end of a positive result of you contacting the Police ? Possible some of you would say yes but I cant think of one instance I sincerely wish I could. THATS why so many have chosen to voice their frustration via TC in this thread. If you take anything from the comments then it's a plea for some action from plod that we who pay for them can feel money well spent about and one of those dear to the hearts of most of right thinking citizen's is the eradication of ar5eholes like these who are parasites on the back of hard working people. There's enough parasites in this welfare state as it is.
-
Err AND ?
Thanks for posting that Mick

OK assuming all jets vents etc are clear and that the jetting slide etc is correct is it on "electronic" ignition or points? if points swap the condenser as it's surprising how often these let you down and don't just assume that if it's a new one it's ok.
-
Ah but as was found out in Road Racing there are production bikes and "production bikes". Best way is for the Fim to allocate a bike purchased at random from a local dealer without ANY prior notification at each round to be given to the rider an hour prior to the start and all components to be marked and if ANY are changed the instant disqualification. Either that or the good old US idea of anybody can buy the bike at the end of the comp for silly money.
-
My point exactly. Not anti police, they are all we have after all, however they are NOT a deterrent neither are the courts so what is left? well perhaps we should make it easier for the thieving *******s? After reading some of the above it might be construed that if I have my bike nicked it is always my fault no matter what precautions I took because if they managed to nick it then it must be my fault.IS THIS THE LEVEL TO WHICH WE HAVE SUNKEN TO? Why should I have to take any precautions to secure MY yes MY NOT THEIR POSSESIONS. God what with this and the welfare gravy train, which most if not ALL of these scumbags also enjoy, no wonder this country is fu*ked.
I hope that everybody who have had and will have their prize possessions stolen get them returned in perfect condition along with a letter of apology from those misunderstood little mites.
-
That's also the problem !! People see a crime in progress and just watch or walk on by. Crime has become endemic in our society and a way of life on most estates which are nothing more than open prisons. Thank god I managed to escape from an estate that on face value looked "nice" till after dark. Now I've moved to where I thought would be a nice area and the next village down, full of council housing yes basically an estate, has the plodcopter hovering overhead almost every night. As I said crime is endemic in society now.
-
You know that even with this evidence Plod wont be bothered as too much trouble. Shame it didn't show the reg number of the van but then again that would probably be a cloned plate."Will they get what they deserve" No they wont !! If by some quirk of fate plod happens to fall over them and they get arrested all they will get is a slapped wrist and be released to carry on as the magistrates know the prisons are already full to bursting point so are being encouraged NOT to award jail sentences.
Only way they will ever get what they deserve is if somebody finds out who they are and they get a "visit" from "some boys". At least the Saudis would make it a bit harder for them to sign to get their welfare wages each fortnight.
Sick of the way this country has gone.
-
As said numerous times before who cares what happens at the WTC BTC whatever? It's what happens at the next Club trial that has a massive effect of whether the sport thrives or suffers a long and protracted death. Those are the riders that matter. Experts don't buy anything they expect to be given stuff all the time that the rest of us directly or indirectly have to subsidise and pay for.
-
have you tried the west route ?
-
it has been discussed at great length.
-
If it wasn't so far i'd bite his hand off that's very cheap.
-
Finally remembered it's an x pro throttle body. If you google x pro throttle theres a video of them on there. Think that it was also discussed on here a while back but whenever I use the search thingy on here I can never get it to work
-
-
I've thrown the box away now but they are quite common over here. Cost was I think £24.99 don't know what that is in dollars or what the shipping would be but i'll try and remember who makes them.
-
Always gets confusing because at my Club the "easy" route is the Clubman route. We decided to call it the Clubman route because the term easy is relative and people felt it was derogatory to say they wanted to ride the easy route even though it was most definitely the correct route for them. Whatever trials is about you against the course and somebody has to come last. The only way is up from there though and what better incentive to improve? Keep your feet up and as long as you are enjoying yourself then that's what really matters
-
If you just want to keep to std then I prefer slow but I currently have a billet alloy throttle tube fitted to my Domino throttle that starts slow and from about 1/3rd throttle is machined to medium response which I feel is a great compromise for my riding style.
