  1. What are the good parts in a Marxist ???? I guess I won't have to work any more, and just reduce my standard of living to the lowest common denominator, maybe I can get to be one of the "more equal"ones.
  2. I have a spare some where, I can only remember fouling maybe 4 plugs in the last 10+ years, two of those were the new split fire, which fouled within 5 minutes in my Banshee. I can't say I don't change one on occasion 2-3 yrs maybe, always wonder why after
  3. I've run some here in the States,no changes except to add an aux. fuel tank to the front forks. I only run the more technical ones, ie. slower speeds. The hardest part ,if you want to be competitive, will be riding hard standing up VS. the horizontal ride, for over 2 hrs. "I have just returned from honeymoon where I spent an entire 2 weeks horizontal therefore I am no where near the required fitness level for such an event....." Still a little weak in the knees you'll need them strong for a HS race.
  4. Try turning the bars more to correct balance instead of useing your legs, it takes some practice but you won't over correct as much , looking good
  5. Got back late monday nite ,great trip, 7 ended up going , rode about 50-60 miles per day ,started about 7:30am rode until 7:30 or 8:30pm each day. beautiful scenery good trails , would have liked to have some more difficult ones, there are several areas of very large rocks to climb on, some good smaller ones by camp, got 2 new converts to trials , both came back wanting to buy a trials bike. BTW never cleaned the sparkies , still look clean!!
  6. Thanks for the info, we had RYP ship them out to Co. ,we'll pick them up when we get there, found some "sparky's" for the non trials bikes at a MC dealer where we'll get our permits. Sooooooo if everything fits we'll be good to go. I think I'll throw in my butane torch "just in case" for cleaning, I can't imagine they would need cleaning that soon , but better than trying to clean with a stick
  7. Thanks for the info, I've seen them on some bikes in some videos and wondered what they were now I know We ride mostly in Mo, some in Ok, Ark. never been checked/needed one before.
  8. Getting ready to leave on Thurs for Colorado to do some riding, just learned we have to have US forest service approved exhaust..... Whats the deal with that ? How do you guys ride there , does every body get new exhaust????? None of the 8 bikes we,re taking are "approved" , none of the 4 others in my garage are either ,all but 3 are the stock exhaust. Any tips ??????????
  9. I think we were snowmobiling up there seveal years ago . great place , kinda hard to tell what it would be like for trials with all that snow cover
  10. We are heading for Co. next thur.7th -11th. We will be riding in the Rampart Range area below Denver, actually staying in Sedalia ,I think?? Any one ride/live in that area ? any tips would be nice. Any one from central Mo. want to go? we may have room for 1 in truck, would have room for several bikes in trailer. We have 4 definate going ,1 is already there ,maybe 3 more(that will be a little crowded) if they can decide???? If anybody would like we could meet out there for some riding that would be great.
  11. OUCH I just had an incident several days ago that renewed my reasons for wearing all the gear I do. I was practicing on a hill about 100' in length , 50 degree slope with 3 ledges about 2'high +/- just far enough apart so that as soon as the rear tire is on top of 1 the front tire contacts the base of the next. Just as I reach the top ledge with the rear tire, I'm not sure what happened but I think a rock kicked the rear out sideways , and the bike go's down instantly, my heel somehow gets caught on the top of the ledge and I fall backwards off the ledge ,landing flat on my back and began somersaulting backwards down the hill , I managed to grab a small tree on the third go around to stop my tumble. After figuring out which way was up I assesed the damage .......... none , despite several back flops down a rock strewn hill Ilive to ride anouther day
  12. I would like that format pretty good, it seems , to me any way, that I could ride 1 class higher in many sections but there's always a few lines in that class there's no way I would try .So I ride the easier class Any 1 else suffer from "I'm not as good a rider as I think I am"
  13. Unfortunately they won't give up, it will come back when there are other issuses to help cover it up , or when they think the voter turnout for our side will be low.
  14. Here's what a buddy of mine did when the EPA came to investagate his business for producing to much dust , he basicly cleans grain , his business is located way out in the country on a gravel/dirt road, when they showed up he had prerranged to have about 10 employees to drive back and forth on the road as fast as they could, thus creating so much dust from the road, which is owned by the state, that they couldn't see any of the minute amount of dust created by cleaning the grain they quickly decided there was no problem since the "state" was creating much more dust than he
  15. Here's one I recently experianced when I got my concealed carry permit After 8 hrs of classrom instruction ,50 rounds on shooting range ,10 rounds on target in under 1 minute ,passing a FBI background check ,showing birth certificate, being OK'ed by the local sherriff, finger printed to make sure I was who I said I was. I had to go to the DMV to get the conceal carry ID card, all the prevoius approval/paperwork wasn't enough they had to see an original/official copy of a birth certificate, of course that's the 1 thing I didn't bring along, and being it would take an hour to drive home to pick it up ,and that the DMV it only open from 9:17 to 10:48,(not really but seems that way)they said I could pick one up at the local Gov. office for $5.00. ,OK finally the Gov. is doing something right, So I walk in ,ask for a birth cert. "sure what name do you want"says the lady. No ID no ?? asked except what name do you want? I could have gotten anybody's all I had to do was give a name
  16. I can't imagine what it would be like to have to go to those extremes to protect your stuff , most guys I know don't even lock their doors. I'm thinking we need some more gun control laws to help us get to that point of safety and security
  17. I agree 100% with michealmoore, I'll restate what I said earlier , When looking through the results of some club events I was amaised at the # of DNF 's . How can you get a DNF in trials? After attending several I think I found out why, it was the lack of protective gear. There were several very mild crashes, and because(in my estimation)the guy landed on a rock or hit his elbow on one, ect. they quit, maybe it was just their ego that got bruised. No one that I saw DNF had equip. problems it was somthing else. How about looking at it this way if your riding ability is so bad that 1-2 Db quiter helmet,or not being able to tilt your head up another 2 degrees to see the hilltop ,or the extra 1/10 millimeter thickness glove over works your clutch finger, and makes you crash maybe you should drop down a level Thats about as absurd as thinking a little extra protection will do the same I doubt that there are very many of us riding at the level that any of these things would change their total score by 1 point , I know it won't mine
  18. In returning to trials after a 20+ yr absence , I see a lot of potential for growth ,here's what happened in my little world. I bought a used Gas-Gas ,Feb 07, my brother ,who ownes a MC/ATV repair shop, became a Sherco/Scorpa dealer and has sold 3 new bikes, my son who, "doesen't like to ride MC",(he's ATV all the way), bought 1 after riding mine, I have 3 friends who have bought bikes ,4 more who are planning to buy in the next month or so, also a group of 3 Enduro/HS guys went together and bought 1 ,after 1 of them rode mine at a poker run.I know 4 others who are very interested, I am also looking into buying some adjacent land to allow riders a place to ride, but that don't seem to pay very good, guess I need a Gov. grant Currently I am the only 1 who competes.
  19. The tips on hydration are great, when we go to ride in the desert(3 day trips) we usally start drinking extra water 2 days before, it's amaising how much it helps on not getting as thirsty, tired,or sore. Try it some time you'll be suprised. we have 1 guy who won't do it and he can't get enough to drink,he can't eat because of being too full of water, can't ride hard because of "water belly"
  20. It should be able to be fixed fairly easy, although most times they are sent off to be repaired(vulconized)sp.? With the low pressure we run I would try a patch first,or maybe a tube
  21. Yea, prison seems to have worked real good
  22. Same here, I,m not saying it can't be done, I've "engineered" some pretty amazing stuff to keep from walking Don't know how it is other places, but over here ,you have watch which which brands of ether you buy, some don't/won't atomize properly, (Darn methheads)
  23. I do that quite reguarly with ether, always use a "fuse line" ,clip on air chuck ,remote air shut off/on
  24. Great idea, I'll use it to tell how much gas I have left, as we go on some pretty long rides and I'm always wondering if I got enough to get back. As for saving weight I'm all for it, just don't be like my buddy , he spent about $2500.00 to lighten his quad 15# but he was probably 40-50# over weight He didn't appreciate me pointing that out
