  1. I remember the pundits saying that the 4RT would require a new piston every 20 hours
  2. For the type of riding you have described the Mont is better than the Sherco 4T. Can't beat Mont's Fuel Injection. Here is one For Sale in Vancouver 2007 Monty
  3. Mont 4RT is the bike you need. They don't overheat. Best bike for the trail. Most reliable for those long BC mountain rides. Totally flogable.
  4. a loose exhaust flange (at the cylinder) can cause a backfire
  5. I don't mean that he got screwed by Xispa, but rather that he got screwed when the French government prevented him from selling them. Didn't know that he could sell one model.
  6. Don't let a Catalan hear you say that! It's a language. Sherco is a French company. S.A.R.L Anyone that has visited the "Factory" in Spain/Cataluna soon realises that this is not the main Factory. It is a small "trials only" assembly facility. Many parts are sourced in Spain so it could classify as "Made in Spain". French or Spanish? Who cares? It's a good company. They have come a long way in a short time. Good on them. Andreu Codina is long gone from Sherco. Prato got screwed in the Xispa deal. It was clever marketing to let people think that it was a Spanish trials bike, which could be argued. Just like the use of Bultaco brand name in the early years was clever marketing. Paxau and his comp shop are Catalan. So R&D does happen there as well.
  7. By the time that happens, Raga will be a grandfather!
  8. Just calmly inform the miserable git that according to the club bylaws that anyone that complains must automatically serve as organizer of the next event.
  9. Idle must be set at 1800 + RPM. Use an electronic tachometer. If that fails then, try kicking it with the throttle just a wee bit open.
  10. Christian Rayer on an early Yam prototype?
  11. So Royal Enfield of India have done a Fuel Injected Trials bike before Beta, Sherco, Yamaha/Scorpa and Gas Gas... if they ever release a 4T.
  12. the only proper way is to cut it open and re-pack it with fresh material. the best way is to lighlty grind the seams and cut the ends, clean, re-pack and re-weld. you will notice a marked performance increase....much smoother power
  13. ....any weight savings will be offset by the spares and spanners that you will have to carry in you bum bag. .....also your skills will suffer because you will have less time to practise due to increased maintenence schedule.
  14. The bracket is the culprit. It's crap and causes all the probs. It needs a stronger stop and it needs to be reinforced. The stand itself is ok.
  15. I don't see the waste. I seems as though they put it to very good use.
  16. Raga failed to win a single Indoor round this year. How many years since that has happened? Also of interest, all five Indoor rounds were won by four strokes.
  17. That sounds like the format that El Trial de Espana has used for years.

    Elf Htx 740

ELF HTX 740 may cost more but it is well worth it. It will last 2 to 3 times longer than any oil, making it cost effective. Changing it too often is a waste of money. Also the 4RT clutch loves it. PJ1 Clutch Tuner, for example, costs less but has has a much shorter life.
  19. Loctite makes a gasket removal spray. Makes the job easier.
  20. try Southwest Montesa
  21. Beautiful Bike. Nice work. How does she ride?
  22. Sorry Lads it looks bad for the US market. Strange how beef seems to affect trials? It happened here with F&M. As far a I know the Monty is a EU product and would be included in this. I am afraid that a couple of Honda decals won't do it. Every trials manufacturer is EU registered. What you need is to get Obama on a 4RT!
