  1. Thanks for the replies. I might just leave as is. I'll check the bolts on the mounts etc to see if that helps with vibration. It's hard to justify spending lots of money on a 2012 bike. It's not like I'm out every weekend on an expert route. It's a white route once a month dotted with practice at home in the week. I do like the bike tho. Very reliable starter etc. we'll see. Time is a factor too as I guess it's a reasonable strip down to replace that bush behind the clutch basket
  2. Hi Had a look at my clutch tonight as it is terribly rattly which I know these bikes are known for it. I found these 2 chips on the idler gear would they have any effect on the noise? I guess the bart gear looks a bit tasty too, although it kicks up on 2nd kick from cold and 1st kick when warm. The clutch basket and plates all look sound. I was worried the clutch basket would be worn out but it looks good. The only other thing I have noticed is the bush/bearing on the shaft going to the gearbox has some play in it. I've tried to attach a video but it won't upload for some reason. It all seems to work ok but I get quite a bit of vibration through the bars too. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks
  3. Thanks for the reply, I'll have another attempt at the weekend. Cheers 👍
  4. Hi, just looking for some inspiration. Took my back wheel off to replace the wheel bearings and noticed the swing arm linkage bearings are absolutely shot and some play in the main bushes too. I've sorted the dog bones out no problem, however the 2 roller bearings in the main arm that the long linkage bolt goes through will just not budge nor will the bushings in the end of the arms. Can someone tell me if there is a step inside the casting or can both bearings and bushes be pushed out from the same side? I've tried a little heat with a warm air gun but no success at the moment. Obviously I don't want to damage anything but just looking for a bit of info Thanks
  5. Wow. Some top information there. It's got the casing spacer so I'm assuming a flywheel weight has been fitted. I'll have a play with it, looks like my gearing is a bit out from where it should be. After all said and done it could just be my inexperience. Thanks for the top information 👍
  6. Yes I've been thinking that myself. I'm just re bushing the swinging arm, dog bones and fitting new wheel bearings and then I'll have another play with it. We do go to Mansfield mauns practice day I might ask someone there to have a ride on it. 👍
  7. Had road bikes in the past but new to trials apart from riding my boys sherco 125 around the field. I'll check for the casing spacer. His seems to ride really smooth in 1st gear and low revs. I've not looked at his gearing to see how that's set up. I'm just working may way through this bike. Took the back wheel off last night to sort the rear wheel bearings and shook the swing arm and the dog bone bushes are shot. The front sprocket is well worn too. So I'll get it back together and have a play. At the moment it just feels like when you are in the wrong gear in your car and you get that juddering. Did my first trial at the weekend and felt like I was just on the clutch the whole time I was trying to go slow. I mean that could be normal, I don't know as I'm a complete beginner🤷😂
  8. Hi. I'm new to trials and have got a gas gas txt racing 225. I'm finding that at low revs and in 1st gear the bike sometimes feels jerky, almost as if I was in too high a gear. Just wondering if anyone knows what could be causing this. I notice the chain could do with tensioning, could that cause it or is the gearing all wrong? It's got 9/48 sprockets. I've fitted a slow throttle too but find it very responsive despite the slow throttle. Any ideas/help appreciated. Cheers
