  1. Hi everyone, Recently bought an old TXT some people have helped me identify in another post. I've fully stripped it now and pulled the cases apart. Mega help from someone on youtube who stitched all the Jim Snell videos into one 2 hour information goldmine. The only thing left I'm struggling with is removing the crankshaft. I've pulled the cases and removed everything else. It looks like its a special tool but I can't find mention of it anywhere online. Photo attached but I'm assuming the innter gear is threaded and needs some kind of splined tool to sit in the two inserts on the gear. Is that right? Anyone else done it before and have an idea or link to a tool I could use? Thanks
  2. Thanks I think I figured out why it wouldnt reach. The reed intake is from a standard model. The Kehin carb model has a metal piece and then a longer rubber which has effectively moved the whole carb closer to the airbox so it fits now and the bottom of the carb isnt rubbing on the frame. Seems like this bike has been mashed together with a standard model at some point.
  3. Yes thanks. It was the first thing I ordered. Its been sat in a barn for ages. Think the lad use to potter round his yard on it. Didn't really know how to ride it to be honest so I'm assuming he bought it like that.
  4. Hi everyone, I've bought a cheap trials bike for getting into trials and also wanted to learn a bit about getting on the spanners as I've never really dare touch stuff on my enduro bike beyond very basic maintenance. I was hoping stuff would be easier to fix compared to my modern enduro bike (way too many electrics and parts for me to understand lol). Anyway, I bought a GasGas 300 TXT 2005. However now I have it home it looks like a mixture of bikes (doh - i'll probably do more research next time). To be fair I don't think the seller really knew either. It appears to have a Raga frame (I've checked the Vin which confirms this) and engine casings but the rear end looks like a standard txt. From what I can tell the Raga had a magnesium colured swingarm which mine doesn't. Also the rear shock is Sachs not Ohlins which I think the Raga had. Given the bike is a mixture I was hoping someone could identify the forks for me so I can get the correct bushings and seals for a service? There also appears to be something weird going on with the carb intake. Its almost like they have attached an extra piece of rubber on the airbox to make it join the carb. Could this be to do with the fact it has a different rear end? The carb is literally rubbing the engine case which surely can;t be right either.. I've been looking online and parts seem hard to come by. Do more modern parts tend to fit these older models? What other year parts can I typically look at which should fit? Appreciate thats a bit of a info dump. Any help is much appreciated
