B*gger was convinced this was on the 9th February.
Can't ride this weekend.
-
Snap. Always used ATF Dexron III never had a problem in 11 years of GG ownership
-
Defo Challoner and most probably Gubian.
-
Anyone know when the calendar is announced?

Think most people would know my answer to this as I've been massively anti no-stop.
However, simplest way to gauge if its magically worked........
Is there magically more riders riding in WTC events - pro, junior and youth levels?
Is there magically more riders riding in BTC events - pro, expert and youth levels?
Is there magically more riders attending centre trials each week?
Have the importers magically sold a load more bikes as a result of no-stop?
Without looking at or investigating any of these I'd confidently say a big fat NO to all the above.
Taking out the 'it's harder to observe' argument - it is
Taking out the 'it's harder to lay an event argument - it is
The pure basics of the (unneeded) change was to make trials more accessible and attract more riders...
Yea if I was unsure about what to do I'd love to take up a sport where there is huge internal unrest and massively inconsistent scoring...
-
Surely you'd only buy a bike that you ride well?
Regardless of looks, (perceived) quality, cost etc you'd first and foremost buy the bike that best suited you and your budget.
If it was only reliability then I guess everyone would have a Mont.
If it was warranty / aftercare service everyone would have a Beta or Ossa and NO ONE would own a Gas Gas
Based on this it's a pity there isn't a pinned post called -
No more 'what bike is best threads : ride every make in your budget and buy the one I you feel most comfortable on'
-
Cheers guys.
Hadn't thought of TdN actually so not a bad shout Andy - load nearer and always looks a very relaxed, chilled out atmosphere.
Can't believe the spanish take it seriously.. They've pretty much won when they arrive : )
Anyone going to TdN??
-
Has anyone been here before to spectate?? If so how was it and would you recommend going?
I'm thinking of driving down with Adam at end of August but not sure on accessibility of venue etc etc.
I've been to a French WTC round before and it was amazing - practically took over the whole village for the week.
I missed Penrith as I was away this weekend but luckily my wife and dad took Adam so he still went and loved it... Now I'm wanting to go again and Isola 2000 is last round this year so needs to be there.
Anyone else going this year?
Thanks

I am going to be selling my Gas Gas long range fuel tank on TC classifieds.
I know it fits the 2002-2008 Gas Gas Pro's as this is what I have previously used it for.
Does anybody know if it will also fit the new style frame Gas Gas pro's?
Don't want to advertise incorrectly and p*ss someone off : )
-
Fraser so long as its the new style frame then it's at least 2011.
2009 / 2010 had different frame
2011 / 2012 / 2013 have a different frame with an extra section of triangular frame at the front of the airbox

Just had this issue myself.
Transporter or Vito. I chose a Vito Sport Dualiner
For me it came down to what it's going to be used for
90% of the time for me it will be my family car 10% have bikes etc in.
comparing the Vito to a Transporter in that situation a 100% no brainer - Vito ALL day long.
In the Transporter you know you are driving a van,in the Vito it is a lot more civilised and comfortable.
From a bike carrying perspective the Transporter wins as the bikes go straight in no problems whereas in the Vito I need to roll the rear seats forward (10 second job)
MPG wise I couldn't tell much difference between the Vito Sport or Transporter Sportline when I drove them but the Vito was showing 40mpg on drive home from collecting it.
Only had Vito a couple of days but love it.

I'd guess that's about right.
Last years factory rep was about the same price - maybe a touch more.
This years TR280i is around £5600 list price so with all the bells and whistles (that Termigoni is a work of art) on the Factory bike £6600 is about right.
-
As he's not ridden to Scott or the 6 days I'd take an educated guess at 0
: )
-
I think my maths is right here and that with tonight's victory Toni Bou has now toppled Dougie Lampkin in terms of world championship titles and now has 13 world championships under his belt.
7 indoor (x-trial) titles : 2007-2013
6 outdoor titles : 2007-2012
He also shows little sign of being caught by any of today's riders and unless tomorrow's stars make a very quick leap I can't see him being challenged for another 5 years (another 9 championships)
I think its fair to say he is now without doubt the greatest trials rider ever.
Can he be caught by anyone in the next few years??
-
So based on the views of an observer -
they made an attempt to be no stop : so how would you score that??? how would next observer score that??? = inconsistency.
a momentary feet up stop is neither here or there : so its not no stop is it??? = whats the point of having no stop if observers are saying this??
Sorry, this will just lead to mass confusion, more arguements, more delays and so on.
EPIC FAIL FIM

Like the look of those bendy plates but how do you attach to the bike?
-
I posted earlier but it ain't here...
Anyway, am looking at getting a number plate for the bike.
Found the one I will get but does anyone know where you can buy the stick on letters / numbers for them??
Thanks
-
Are you in the UK? If so check with Gas Gas UK who can tell you what year / engine bike you should have based on frame number etc.
If not UK the relevant GG importer for that country will be able to do the same.
It is possible the 300 was to powerful etc for previous owner - have you contacted them? - and they changed the engine out for a 250cc.
-
It's obviously personal opinion and taste but you could make a poor choice by buying a bike based in how you think it looks.
A 315R is a good bike bike and the quality is very good based on HRC input / quality control etc. the Montesa will be the heaviest and probably the most expensive for parts / repairs etc.
Like most bikes that age (newest 315R you'll get will be edging towards 9 years old) they'll be a lot of well used dogs out there.
Not looked recently but I would imagine your budget would get you a very nice 2007 (maybe 2008) Gas Gas / Beta / Sherco or Scorpa (Yamaha engined) all of which make a great bike to start on.
Best bet as is ALWAYS the case with the 'what bike is best' or 'what bike shall I get' questions is to get yourself to a trial / training ground speak to people and maybe see if you can ride a bike or 2.
Only then will you be able to make a good judgement.
All the bikes have known niggles/faults etc but a well maintained bike will serve you well whatever you get.
Good luck
-
That is proper weird.
I'd set the trial to record at 13:10 yesterday. It said X-Trial, recorded X-Trial but was actually karting...
Now set for Thursday. Second time lucky
-
Are there some silly people out the or are insurance companies just a touch mental?
Rang Carol Nash today for a renewal quote on my bike.
Extra years no claims, nothing changed on policy etc price gone from
-
Motor vehicles are not covered under home insurance.
I had the argument with a home insurer a few years ago.
They'll cover a mountain bike worth £6,7,8000 that just stands in the garage and is so easily stoken but won't cover a £500 trials bike that is locked and chained to the ground etc.
You can get laid up insurance based on frame number etc but from my experience - albeit a few years ago - it was a LOT easier and cheaper to register, tax and insure your trials bike.
-
ATF is fine make sure its Dexron III though
-
Yes thanks for this Andy, saw the dates earlier. Demo a good move IMO and makes the long trek North worthwhile now.
