hi, i was getting quotes for a New 04 at
  3. Hi guys, me and my dad are planning on going to try and see some indoor rounds next year instead of a holiday!! can anyone give me dates and venues for the 2005 Indoors or a link to a site that i can print them of from? if anyone could i would greatly apprectiate it. Cheers Chris
  4. Bigfoot, It was my dad who suggested going over to get it. he suggested that we take a tent, stove and clothes in the car. saving on hotel bills and all we nedd to buy is food and drink. The car is brand new so not much wear and tear to worry about and we are taking a bike rack across to save on trailer fees. He was just wondering if it would be cheaper to buy the bike from the factory, he is not really bothered about all the other costs as it would just be like a holiday for us, seeing parts of the world we have never seen before, im not sure if i could stand going in the car for like 4days straight! Im not sure about it yet i was just asking if anyone could help me buy telling me if it possible to get the bike from the factory? Thanks guys Chris

  6. No Way, Kinlochleven has far better sections and much more spectacular sections than anywhere else in Britain. it is perfect for the British Round and i hope that it gets held up here. REV`er
  7. Hi guys, my dad has only just suggested this to me and i am still considering what i should do I was planning on getting a 2004 Beta next week, but my dad asked me if i would want the 05 model, he then asked me a real wacky question.. he said "how bout you wait until october holidays then ill get a towbar on the car and we will drive across to the factory in Spain and get the bike from there" at first i was liking the idea but now i realised that Beta is made in Italy. but does anyone know if there are any factories in Spain that sell brand new Betas and if it would be cheaper going over in the car to pick it up? any advise real soon would be great thanks Cheers guys Chris

Hi guys, im getting my new 2004 Beta 250 next week, i am getting it brand new so im wandering how do i break the bike in, ive been told that you ride it for 5-8hours then change the gearbox oil, is that all there is to it? does anyone have a plan that i could print of and follow so i break my bike in properly, thanks in advance Chris
  11. Hi guys, is anyone making the trip to fersit for this years Grace dignan event? i will be observing at it again this year because i will only have had my new bike for a few days and i dont want to wreck it at my first trial, i will take the bike with me to muck about on though. i highly recommend that anyone who can make it that they do actually go, last year there was lots of compliments to the organiser and moslty everyone there enjoyed there day. The lap is quite long, last year it was 2 laps of about 20 odd sections i think!!! Once again try to make it guys, a great day to be enjoyed by all, hope to see you there. Chris

ok sorry Andy, forgot about that!! ill start again then, Hey Pete, take it that you got the 2004 Beta, did you get it in 250 or 270?? do you think that i should wait until the 2005 Beta is out to get my new one or should i just go for a 2004 just now? also do you think that i sjould go for another 250 or go for the 270 model? are you going to the Grace Dignan Memorial Trial this year? if so could i get a shot of your bike there? cheers chris, p.s. once my new bike arrives i will be getting right back into trials again, because recently i have let my riding slip away because my bike has been out of action, but it would be great to get out practicing with you when you are down from college! Cheers

    Info Needed

Hey pete, ive heard that its only the 270`s that go aswell, i think a new 2005 Beta 250 would be good, if the stator goes youll have the warranty to get it fixed, it is supposedly just a bad batch in the production line, thing is they dont know which ones are the dodgy ones, get a new one with the bike just incase. gd luck with it all Chris
  16. hi guys, i would say that the Montesa is a bombproof bike, very reliable and loads of power, the gas gas is a really light bike with plenty power on all models, the gas gas however requires more maintenance, if u r a mechanic/know what u r doin with bikes then the gas gas is a really good bike to have but if not the i would reccomend the Montesa, i am planning a 2004 Montesa in about a Months time.. cheers chris

    Rev 3 Electrics

Phone John Lampkin Imports, he will help you out, and get you a Stator sorted out if it is the electrics you will need a new stator, my bike had that, so did every Beta that retired from the SSDT tihis Year - nightmare, the 2002 had a bad batch of Stators on them and your lads could be one of them, i know a guy who bought Tom Sagars bike and his Stator went aswell, so give Lampkin a phone, tell him whats up! cheers Chris

    Gary Mac

Good effort Gary, i agree with pete, there are alot more trials this year, and if you ride the way you did with a broken hand you`ll be on great form this Year when you are back to full strength, so look foward to the future and wait until 2005, when you will beat em all!! Cheers Chris Keep up the good work Gaz
  19. good Pic!! Anyone know where that is? good to see Perce with his feet-up REV`er p.s who finished first out of team WOFTAM??
  20. Thanks Guys i think that it could just be a problem that only a few experience!! So far i know that Montesa have gone to 4t for 2005 and so have Scorpa, i spoke to Lampkin and he said that Beta are going for a 2005 4t but will produce the 2t aswell as the 4t, not sure about Sherco or Gas Gas, Some probs. from the SSDT that have being coming towards me - 3 Shercos` broke down yesterday, 2 Gas Gas basically fell apart and about 5 or 6 Beta have Stator Plate problems, not to Good Cheers REV`er
  21. Hi guys, i have been given the ultimate incentive for my exams, if i pass them all my dad buys me a brand new 2005 bike of my choice and a trailer to go with it, im looking into a Sherco, but my fear is that the old man goes all out, buys me the bike and the main bearings go!!! if i bought the bike brand new and asked the company to fit new bearings in it before the bike is even trialed how much do you reckon it would cost??? Is there anything else i would need to watch out for on them??? Cheers Guys Chris
  22. The Fersit sections are 1 mile from the car park it will take you approx. 15-20mins to get up to the sections Well worth the hike REV`er
  23. Wonderboy wot are u talking about, i had a shot on a 280 and a 300, i would have to say that i preferred the 280, it grips on the moors very well indeed and has good gearing also it is really light in order to flick about in oreder to regain grip!! I know a guy who had a 280 pro, and he had a shot of a 300 to see if he would buy it or if he was gonna get another 280 - he is an expert rider for the club and has been Scottish champion, he said the 300 just loses grip and is far to powerful, he flipped it several times on hill climbs if he out it above 1/2 throttle - not good i think you would be better with a 2004 280 pro REV`er

    Query?

Nice phrase, Boofont The 2002 model was the one with airbox probs. but supposedly was fixed in 2003?? I have heard by some people that the 2001 gasser was the best gas gas model ever made!! I hear what you are saying when people swear by them, i know a guy that buys one every year and has still not had a problem yet I supose it just depends on who you buy it off!

    Query?

Gavin i dont think somehow that the average clubman brings a gasser to the SSDT just because he can flick it about, theres something else to it!! Bikespace- I did not label them the worst bike i simply meant that is the vibe that i get off other people i talk to. I think the 03 250 gasser looks really good and so also does the 01 250 gasser, would anyone say any different?? Cheers Chris
