  1. Same as above, but I spray chain on both sides with degreaser, then pressure wash.
  2. Biff, Here's some info: Round 1 & 2 "Fun in the Sun". March 1st & 2nd Hardrock, Ocala, Fl. Round 3 & 4 "Spring Fling". May 17th & 18th Trials Training Center, Sequatchie. Tn. Round 5 & 6 "Stoney Trials". Sept. 20th & 21st Stone Lonesome club ground. Columbus, Ind. Last year, T.I.'s website had information for the 2007 Regional Series, but I just looked and didn't see any information for the 08 series. Just to note, I don't believe it's TI's responsibility to post this information. This type of information should be posted in the newly created "USA Trials Reviews and Previews". I don't think many people know this Regional Series exists. Some of the funds go to support our TdN team...which is great, but why such a secret?????? (just trying to make a point). Have fun down there!
  3. I found my float level to be at 17.5mm, so I adjusted it to 19mm and no more stalling/flooding! I also installed an aftermarket kill switch. Thanks to all for the tips.
  4. JMcK...I grasp the idea and will take a look at it this weekend...Thank you! I did find by the recommended float height setting on the Keihin website at 19mm and some other useful tips/checks to ensure free movement of the float.
  5. Thanks for the input. I have checked the fuel cap. I will be installing an aftermarket kill switch this weekend as the Beta factory kill switch only works half of the time.
  6. GEZ, I'm experiencing similar problems. I am also looking for the float height setting on the 08 Beta with KEIHIN carb. My bike will stall on flat sometimes (no rhyme or reason) and I'm guessing it's flooding out. Bike will USUALLY start back up if let sit 20 -30 seconds and run fine. This problem has existed intermittently since new, about 2 1/2 months now....good thing only practicing.
  7. Is there a difference between the Beta 27mm clutch master cylinder (as listed on betamotors.com) and the stock cylinder? If so, what would be the advantages/disadvantages of the aftermarket?
  8. Turning it out would lean the mixture.
  9. Chewy, could you please provide part number(s) for the Goodridge 600 series you use on the Beta break/clutch lines? Thanks

  11. 2008 Beta's with Keihin carbs: I can't be the only one having this problem? The flexible wire or cable that is "attached" to the air mixture screw has come apart two times now on my bike. The first time it happened I removed the air screw and soldered the cable back in, but I guess I didn't do a good job because it has come apart again. So, I re-soldered it and believe I did a good job this time, so I hope it stays. Just to note, I didn't twist or turn the cable excessively to make it come apart. I've only made practical adjustments as needed to adjust for temperature...or slight adjustments. I've almost come afraid to make adjustments for the fear of it coming apart again and spending 1/2 hour fixing it again.... I would hate for this to happen during an event. So, any advice or alternatives available?
  12. Keith, good idea. Yep, a fish...hmmm... But yes, I did convert and loving it!
  13. I don't believe you have missed anything about U.S. results postings & schedules. I have seen from time to time (usually shortly after a U.S. National) results posting under the USA and Canada News section on the home page. I have also seen several result postings that "local" clubs have made in this section. I'm not sure how to post to the home page, but this may be the area to make such results postings. It would be nice to have a designated page for U.S. schedules (National and local) with links for further event information. I don't know if the T.C. forum would allow such "advertisement"?
  14. Well, if finally happened.... Only in the Great Lake state of Michigan is where you'd find a boat incorporated in a section. Club Metro, of the Michigan Ontario Trials Association hosted a great event this past weekend and used a boat as an obstacle in a section! It was about a 16' V-hull fiberglass fishing boat flipped upside down... I've never ridden anything as slick! As more rides were taken onto the boat it began rock side to side adding more challenge. I guess it's a change of pace from the cars we use to ride on. Great event club Metro!
  15. As a Michigander and active MOTA member, I'm just curious to know where or what city in MI the Rob Edwards/MOTA event took place. Brian, do you recall? I looked up some information and found it was hosted by club Mid-Michigan in 1972. Same year Mick Andrews held a training school in Flint, MI. My club is hosting a MOTA event in two weeks and thought it would be nice to copy this article and post at sign up.
  16. So who took the furthest distance traveled award and how far?
  17. Good luck Biff! Hope you do well. 99% sure I won't make it. Sam is probably busy making wobble boards. Is Pat going? Good luck to all.
  18. Hay MOTA guys, Scott D. was wondering if he could bring his "Beta" trailer or parts trailer over to the Windsor event. I told him it's probably not a good idea. Any concerns?

    Bike Shipping

Was thinking of trying to attend the CA National next month (Aug), but the drive is just too long and not able to take the necessary time off from work; I could only take the time to fly. This is probably a common "problem" that many of us National riders have. Any advise/experience as to a shipping company to use to ship my bike? Any knowledge of a trucking terminal or dispatch center in the area of the CA National? Forward Air seems to be a familiar name, but for some reason I heard they now make it difficult to ship motorbikes. On another note, and being from Michigan, I was thinking of attending the Regional series in Bedford, KY (Dixi Cup), two weeks before the CA National. I don't know of anyone in the mid-west who will be taking the drive out west, but if there's anyone with room to haul an extra bike, let me know and could try to work something out. Just taking a stab in the dark, any advice appreciated.
  21. My friend and I have recently purchased 2007 Sherco's. The jets in our bikes are a 36 pilot, 118 Main, needle clip position at 2nd from top. These are the sizes recommended by the importer and I agree they are correct for our elevation. But regardless of the jetting, both of our plugs are "burning" 1/2 dark brown and 1/2 very light to white on opposite sides of the plug. I was told this is do to improper or uneven combustion in the cylinder head. It doesn't seem to be any major concern, but I also know this is not optimum. I was told to add a spark plug spacer to reindex the plug in the cylinder (tighting to same ft.lbs) and it may help. I've owned 15 trials bikes and this is the first bike with this condition. Any suggestions or comments? I believe this condition plays a part as to why my 06 ran smoother.
