  1. The small tube just slides into the damper and the pointed plug fits on the top of the tube and under the locknut if that makes sense. The plug is what moves when you adjust the damper screw.
  2. Anyone know what they fit as original equipment to 2011 ?. Performance is really good.
  3. Do you know part number of the front bearings for 2011 Pro ?
  4. Found this on the web The Raga for this year will be referred to as a 2012 model and not a 2011 one. The 2011 will be skipped over for the 2012 instead. Since the factory

    New Ossa!

Hi, Thinking of getting an 0ssa 280. I'm interested in what Ossa owners rode before and how they compare. Ive just sold an Evo 250 which is about right power wise but I have geared it down and fitted a slow throttle.Would hate to think the Ossa was wild.

    New Ossa!

Does anyone know the warranty arrangements in the UK ? What sort of problems have been seen with early bikes? Anyone come up with a stand that fits for those who want one? Speaking to a couple of UK dealers they only have had mixture issues which are now fixed with latest mapping. They have concerns the rear wheel has only 1 bearing with the other side using a teflon bush. Apparently they are looking at a bearing conversion for the UK. Anyone had problems with the rear wheel set up?
  7. Used one of these on a Beta. It's listed for sherco as well. The seller is a really helpful guy if you contact him and ask. Worth having in your toolbox at that price. Puller
  8. I changed a 2009 250 EVO to 40 tooth on the rear with standard 11 front. It takes some of the harshness off the clutch and gives more usable ranges. I do majority of sections in 2nd but do use 1st occasionally. I have thought about trying a 39 tooth. Anyone tried that?
  9. Hi had the same problem. Quickfix is to use copper grease between the swingarm and the bearing bushes on the swingarm pivot bearings and dont overtighten the swing arm spindle bolt. You will have to remove the swingarm to do this properly. It appears that the tollerances are a little tight between the frame and the swing arm causing the creaking sound. To prove if its this just slacken the swingarm pivot bolt nut off and it should go.
  10. Had a similar problem with my 09 EVO. Everything semed fine and I just kept adjusting the head free play until eventually the steering was dragging but the clunk was still there. To try and see what was going on I stripped the head bearing right down but couldn't find anything wrong. I put it back together with new grease and it dissappeared. Been fine ever since. The only thing I could see was that the top bearing seemed slightly skewed on the shaft. May be worth stripping down and greasing.
  11. Did mine just through the water pump cover casing. Whole job 15 minutes cost
  12. Ive had sveral Betas and have always took the ignition cover off after every use . I never got more than a bit of dampness in my REV3s but My current Evo seems to get really soaked. After a jetwash it literally pours out when I remove the cover. Ive spoke to lampkins and they told me they dont modify their team bikes . Its just part of the mainenance to remove the cover and let them dry naturally. I have had trouble with the oil going milky ( more like grey emulsion paint) on my 2009 Evo. I changed the water pump seal (easy job) and it cured it straight away.
  13. Its the large screw with the flexible lead on which is clipped to the overflow pipe. The screw is actually behind the exhaust hence the flexible lead. If its missing its a carb off job to adjust the mixture as the flexible cable can snap off.

    Strange Noise

Try moving the cable that comes out of the casing with the engine running. My mates Rev 3 did it after fitting new electrics. The flywheel was slightly catching the cable. There are posts on here relating to the Evo flywheel wearing through the electrics. If you have a puller I would remove the flywheel anyway and have a look.
  15. Its easy to isolate the kill switch you just remove the right hand plastic tank panel and disconnect the kill switch there. I have had a problem with the brake on my evo.I lost the small return spring from the rear brake pedal and didn't notice. Its only a lightweight spring but is enough to stop the brake rubbing a bit. I noticed mine dragging and starting to nip up. I let it cool down and all was fine after replacing the spring.
  16. John, I thought the 08 had the alloy casing. Might be worth a call to Lampkins.I have heard of people using liquid metal ( think Isopon make it ). Worth a try.
  17. When you order the seal order the funny shaped o ring as well for water pump casing. Its a bit fidly to get back in but I stuck mine in with a bit grease to hold it in the slot. The whole lot delivered was less than a
  18. Did mine just through the water pump casing. Whole job 15 minutes. Just picked the seal out from the front with a small electricians screwdriver after taking impeller circlip off. Didnt even remove the hoses. Caught the fluid in a clean jug through the bleed screw and re-used.
  19. Mine was grey like emulsion paint. The strange thing was that i didn't lose any coolant. It was such an easy inexpensive job to do I thought I'd try it anyway and it worked. They all go cloudy when being used but should clear when cooled. If you flushed with petrol that may have caused it to go white if any was left in. Lampkins told me to fill with any engine oil, Put on stand and run through all the gears until the fan cut in and then drop the oil. Then fill with proper oil.
  20. Just fitted one to my Evo using a long socket just slightly smaller than the seal . It went in very easy but took a sharp tap with a hammer to get it to go flush. Stopped the oil going white immediately.
  21. available from manufacturer http://www.xblok.co.uk/
  22. Thanks for that. Which model have you fitted. Slow-medium, Slow to Fast or slow to ultrafast ?
  23. Has anyone tried the XBlok Variable throttle barrel that starts off slow action and then moves to very fast?. If so is the slow element very noticeable in comparison to a slow action throttle at low throttle openings. Does it take much getting used to?
  24. Tried to fit a new throttle cable to a mates 06 rev3. I bought a one off eblag which was a VENHILL B05-4-006 MARKED AS BETA REV3 2000. The outer is the same as the origional but the inner is about an inch longer and outside of the adjustment available. We then tried a mates spare from an 04 rev3 which was supplied by lampkins and this again had the same length outer but the inner is an inch too short. Various online dealers claim the 2000-2007 is the same cable. Does anyone know what the truth is?
  25. No havent got mine yet but the website says they will not be posted until 1 week before the event.
