Depends on the tires. I have trouble keeping a Dunlop (of course you should run tube type tires, but the price was right) on the TY175 bead at much under about seven PSI.

I had the same questions on my TY175. Looking at the Haynes Manual, Page 86, Picture 37.8, and my cylinder exhaust port, I believe the factory gasket is inset into the cylinder. On my bike, it is compressed and appears flush with the surface where the exhaust header studs are. A PO smeared copper gasket maker all over the place and it was not leaking. Therefore, I believe the proper fix (since I have a new gasket) would be to remove the compressed gasket, and install the new one. However, before my new gasket arrived, and I figured this out I had already made a thin copper gasket to go between the cylinder and exhaust. Seems to work fine, but I'll be ready to pull the old gasket and replace with new if I notice any leaks around the exhaust header.

The Magura is an add-on kit that can be obtained for many bikes. That also means parts are available, so I'd expend the effort to fix it. I've owned the 125 version with cable clutch, and spent some time riding the 175 with hydraulic clutch. I would not go to a cable clutch.

Been watching this thread since my ty175 could stand to be quieter. What type packing did you use the first try? When I think of water pipe insulation, I envision a type of black foam... will this stand the heat? Sounds like a cheap and easy fix if it doesn't melt (or catch on fire). Thanks

Having seen what ethanol can do to 70's spanish fiberglass fuel tanks, I am curious if the later plastic (Bultaco, SWM, Fantic) tanks can carry 10% ethanol fuel without damage. How about the liner in an alloy tank (1976 and up TY250... C & D models). What other parts need updating for this type fuel (can't afford $10/gal for race gas... have to drive 120 miles to get it anyway). Anyone know for sure? Thanks

Can you provide a link to a flyer, or web site with more info? The web site for Hardrock Cycle Park does not mention an observed trial event (except for the AHRMA Vintage race on Sunday). Thanks

From http://www.trialspartsusa.com/tech.html Transmission oil: Recommend type: ATF DEXRON II Alternatives: NOTE: We have a few customers using the type "F" automatic transmission oil with good results. Dramatically reducing, and in one known case eliminating the clutch pack swelling. NOTE: GASGAS Spain recommends only Dexron III automatic transmission oil at this time. Oil type warning: Never use synthetic oil in the transmission~clutch. The synthetic oils are

Question on installation and reliability of 1mm head spacer. 1) Exactly what product did you use to seal the spacer to the cylinder? 2) Have their been any sealing problems between the cylinder or the head? 3) Has their been any erosion of the head spacer due to normal combustion. 4) Any hints or tips to make this installation better? Thanks!!!
