  1. hello, i have a 04 300 raga, i have just changed the water pump, do i need to bleed the coolant or just fill it up then top it up after running for a while? also is there a good way to bleed clutch fluid as i have just replaced the clutch hose. thanks very much! bingo
  2. thanks for all the advice, while i have been waiting for parts to come i thought it would be a good idea to check out all the other bits while the bike was in pieces, iv'e replaced all the suspension bushes and bearings as they were all rusty and siezed, i had the middle section of the exhaust powder coated (only cost a tenner) new chain and sprockets, i fitted a whole water pump kit, i had to drill out the old brass bush as it was stuck in place! the new clutch cable is in place but it's not been bled yet, the new radiator thermostat is in place (hope this one works ok) i have water proofed all the wiring whilst waiting for parts too, i did drain the oil straight away so i hope the clutch is ok! just got to replace the oil, coolant and the clutch fluid and hope the thing starts and the fan comes on! i did check the fan on a battery to see if it worked and all was fine! thanks for the advice! anything else i need to know? ade
  3. thanks very much peter, its my first gasser so just getting to know it a bit better, only ridden it for two hours and it over heated and pumped all the water in to the crank case, so had to rebuild the water pump, fit a new thermostat, and the clutch pipe split too just to make things worse!!! hope it gets better than this!
  4. i have an 04 raga 300, there is a pipe that comes out of the top of the crank case, quite a small pipe, is it just a breather pipe and shouldn't go anywhere, or should it be connected to something, my bike has the keihin carb which has a spare unused tube that looks like a pipe should be attatched to it. also, should there be any kind of foam or a gasket between the fuel tank and the frame? thanks very much!

  7. If in ten years time you look back at a photo and the quality is ****, you will wish you had shot it at as high res as possible, who knows who will be the next big thing. You are so limited with digital, so get what you can from it!
  8. Things to consider! as the iso numbers go up the quality goes down, you can't change the shutter speed unless you change the apeture and get the same picture if in manual mode, if the light is low the camera will use the largest apeture possible for the given focal length and then a shutter speed to get a correct exposure. My advice is to zoom out and move closer to the subject, set the widest apeture (lowest number) and then a shutter speed to give a correct exposure, if it's too dark then notch up the iso. Use the flash if you are close enough, probably 3 - 4 meters. Try and get photoshop if you can, even an old copy, this will give you huge scope for improving your images after you have downloaded them, and also resize them.
  9. I wish i could, maybe one day!
  10. I used to be a member at berko (17 yrs ago) when you could still use the railway bank, (the best bit) and i have had a day at hux so i do know these places.
  11. Well, there is nothing wrong with competitions, it's the travelling that gets to me, i don't mind driving to somewhere if it's a good place to ride and big enough to keep your interest for a day but i dont want sit in my car 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, hours to get to and from a comp when i've got better things to do. Where is hook wood, is it legal or a club. Is there any club listings anywhere???
  12. I live near watford, herts - bucks boarder there are two clubs that i know of in my area, berkhamstead mcc at nash mills- apsley and hillingdon in denham, both very small. I would rather be on my bike than stuck in traffic, woud'nt you???
  13. So that is a no then, do you have a problem with people who don't want to compete or are you on a commission from ktm????
  14. Does anyone know where i can just go and ride with other people in hertfordshire, a quarry or pit or something, i dont want to travel to competitions all over the place, i've had enough of sitting in traffic jams all weekend. Sh%t, i would even buy some woodland if i could find some near to where i live. Can anyone help or should i flog my monty and get myself a ktm for tearing up tarmac. BINGO!
