  1. I always thought you were very intelligent r2w!!!...looks like if we hook up with Thomas when he lives in UK we better keep converation simple though!! ..or feed him lots of cider...then 'eel be real smart like what we are!
  2. Think I must just be lucky, but all I ever did to mine was cut off the tubes at an angle, and it has NEVER leaked...(touch wood), in the 3 years I've been riding it. Its an 02 250 model. It does however take a few kicks to start, if I leave it parked facing downhill, but I never turn the fuel off during an event...mostly 'cause it would p*** me off too much if I got a 5 through forgetting to turn it on again
  3. champagne...its a skill just like anything else..and practising doing it wrong will only make you better at doing it wrong...so get some lessons!!..if you're in UK there are some schools advertised on here..like Steve Saunders school or Dougie Lampkin schools. You'll never regret it!!!!!!!!!!!!..a sound investment

    Beta Website

there is a parts diagram thing, which aint great, but I think if you do a search on here, you'll find a link to it. Apart from that, I dont think there is much...sorry. Official Italy Beta site doesnt have anything like that as far as I remember
  5. Hey..pitley...you gonna be there too??????.... hope so!!!...and you cant use the 'I've got no 2T excuse' anymore
  6. Thanks scorpa3....I'll call her today. Are you going to be there?? If you are, look out for a Beta..(the one thats mostly upside down) and a rider with STU written on the back of his helmet. WOUld be good to say hi!
  7. HI all, I'm wanting to do the Leamington Victory trial at Catesby on March 19th. Trouble is that there is no Phone number in the T&MX regs. so, I then tried to ring the club secretary..(number found in the ACU book)...and his number must have changed, 'cause I was told it was the wrong number. Can anyone help????? (who I can contact etc?) Got to sort it soon, because the entries close this weekend. thanks in advance for any help
  8. Ive got a very good condition 93 Aprilia Climber in the garage..(my dads really)...and my 02 Beta Rev 3, which is probably worth about 1200 pounds now. Well....heres what I think... the APrilia...NEVER gets ridden!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why give yourself extra hard work?????????????????? yes..you will enjoy the rebuild, but that could be done, in 10 years time, or whenever???...in the meantime keep saving your money for a newer bike I would. Of course a good rider can still win on an old bike, and will always be able to. I mean Dougie Lampkin could kick my a*** if he was on my Aprilia with no front wheel, and no back brake!!!...but it still doesnt make me wanna ride that instead of the Beta. I think the only enjoyment of riding the old bike would be to say that you've beaten guys on more modern bikes???
  9. Right!!!!!!!!!...I better go and buy a pub then ...is it guaranteed that I'll loose me wife??
  10. nathan did, so I'm sure he'd tell ya.. I was too busy, riding at the best event ever!!!
  11. Actually....theres a good reason to live near Bristol!!!...to go and have a few lessons with Steve!!
  12. HI Thomas... kind of funny for me, 'cause I live nearish to Leicester, and my parents live nearish to Bristol. Hopefully I wont offend anyone in saying that I think the Bristol/Wales area has better competitions, and certainly more happening....like I say, sorry if I offend anyone, I've only been back living in UK for about 5 months..but this is what I've found so far... SO..obviously, I visit my parents alot, so I can get some good trials in!!! BUT..I have found it hard to find a legal/good place to practise up there... although I havent used it yet, I have seen Earl Shiltons practise place and it looked really good to me. SO..to summerise, I would say do yer practise in Leicester area...and do your competitions in the Bristol area there...that hasnt helped your decision much has it!!!????
  13. yep..gonna weld mine too..but dont think I'll have time to get it done for this weekend, so I've ordered another...gulp ..and it aint gonna be cheap. Ah well..you only live once eh!..and its still gotta be the cheapest/best value bike sport there is
  14. hee-hee....its a bugger when someone does that eh!!...well, I'll be competing with you now for a bid too!! Thanks for the advice chaps...as I guessed, I thought Id have to buy the whole lot..bugger!
  15. Trust me...turning a hobby into a career, aint all its cracked up to be...and firstly it'll probably end up feeling just like any other job... secondly...(maybe more importantly)..if its a job that everyone thinks will be cushy/fun, it'll probably be very hard to get, and probably not very well paid! point 2 is certainly the case in my field...with usually about 300 plus people applying for one position...all for a job that dont pay much either. Stick to computers I would guys!!!!!! Oh..sorry..this thread is getting a bit hijacked eh!..Richard..the bad news is..I too dont reckon you could make any money on a trials practice place..I think everyone would be too tight to pay, plus, Uk is too big a place..(ie to far to travel for some, wherever you put it)..sorry mate..just my humble opinion
  16. OK guys...here's one for ya My kick start ('02 Beta Rev3) is broken... NOT..the bit you put yer foot on, but the lowest part..the bit that the kick start pivots on...its the bit that connects to the starter shaft, and has a ten mill bolt in it. Well, where the 10 mill bolt goes in,...that weld there, has broken.. getting there now... so... the question is. Do I need to replace the whole kick start??...I know I could probably have the weld repaired, but I'll probably do that AND buy a new one, so I've got a spare for next time. Does that bottom bit come apart from the rest of the kick start??.. I cant see how if it does Any help gratefully received...cheers
  17. Ive been using repsol at 80;1 in my 02 rev3 for about 3 years. runs really well and Ive never had any problems with it.
  18. I just bought the sheet kind...dealer reckoned that the pre-shaped one isnt as good anyway??.. I've used the sheet kind before and it worked fine.
  19. Awww...I take back everything I said Bungle
  20. You can also get Rotax manuals from Peter Knight PowerSport, in Bath Tel. 0176 141 4106 He calls himself the ROtax man...and I believe is a bit of a guru on the subject!
  21. would love to join you COta Kid...but cash is tight at the mo. so I'll just have to offer my support on here...SO Go get 'em Dougie...you can do it!
  22. Its definately behind the frame on mine, unless we're talking about a different clip
  23. I cant bring myself to look at this ebay ad. but I'd like to bet that he lives near me....BECAUSE..this IS chav capital of the world..and he certainly sounds like one Sorry if anyone is deeply in love with the area I live in....but it cant just be coincidence that every bloke round here has a ring on every finger and a sooped up boy racer car thingy
  24. thanks for posting the pics as well kinell... It'll give me some ideas for when I try to enter the SSDT...mind you, I'll probably be too old then, 'cause I',m waiting till I'm good enough..which might be a VERY long time!!!!
  25. I'll have to go and have a look at my bike r2w..but I THOUGHT that, if you did it that way, it was impossible to tighten the jubilee clip..(the one at the rear of the concertina rubber)..((airbox end))... isnt it hidden behind the frame????? Hopefully you're right..which I'm sure you are...(as always!!!) ..but I'll go and have a butchers at me bike anyway
