  1. Great write-up Mal...and thanks for putting the time in to do that. Its that kind of thing which I think will really help people to know that WVAC is putting on some excellent trials at excellent venues. Completey agree with you about entries too. There are I would imagine alot of people, and i am definately one of them who often dont have a clue if they will be working or not...(yes, some of us do work on Sundays!! ) untill the very last minute. Selfishly, it would suit me much better if every trial was enter on the day, and I've definately missed a few through it being pre-enter. Pleased the trial made a decent ammount of dosh too. Well done all at WVAC!!!!!
  2. Sorry I wont see you all there guys. Work..again!!!!.....aaarrggghh. Guess I should be pleased to have work, but it would be much better if it was on any other day. Could we start doing trials on Mondays please everyone...thats usually a much better day for me!
  3. Oooh!..you'll be in trouble if Laura reads that Mal Fiancee dont forget!!..not just girlfriend.... Anyway..I digress. Yes, what a terrific venue, and VERY worthwhile cause. Please get yourselves there everybody. You'll miss a great venue/trial if you dont.
  4. Good advice RichT..thanks for that. Thanks too to bowellsboy. Dont think you should be offering me your lubricant in such a public place though! I'll have to have a think if Im gonna take you up on that
  5. Thanks jeffers..no prob. Lowbrow...yes, it is a good venue, I went there two years ago. Well worth the travel, except its gonna be wet so bring yer bin liners! If they tell you its at a farm near Norton..dont go to Norton..go to Knighton and follow the signs from there...its easier and closer. Think the farms address is Norton, but its much closer to Knighton. hope to see you there. RichT...any more news on where you got those full bearing kits for 55 quid??..would love to know. I've just put mine back together with the old bearings and lots of grease so I can ride this weekend. Will try to sort it asap tho!
  6. Thanks Lowbrow, and RichT Yes, I agree with all that, although I've found the bearings, or at least the main 4 for about 3.50 each....but the same place doesnt have the oil seals, so I might well be going with your idea RichT. Where can you get the complete lot inc. bushes for 55 quid tho!!!?..I've heard its more like 90 quid for the whole lot. If you could let me know where, Id be very happy! One of my bushs' in particular seems to be worn, and Id agree with you again lowbrow, that they seem to be a little too undersized anyway, even before they wear. Are you doing the Central Wales trial on Sunday lowbrow??..looks like its gonna be horribly wet, but I really fancy getting out on the bike. Might be last time for a while, since its getting near to silly season for me.
  7. Thanks.. I know its a bit stupid maybe, but I was only thinking of changing these 4 at the moment. Didnt really want to knock them out yet either untill I can be sure of getting the oil seals...dont reckon I cant get the oil seals out undamaged. Thanks tho...looks like you're correct with that bearing number! STU
  8. Hi all, Does anyone know the sizes of the bearings required in the suspension linkage?...in particular the four that are the same..(2 in each silver bit). I THINK they are 15/16/21??..or something like that. These are the only ones that appear to be worn on mine. There are 2 oil seals either side of each bearing too...(totalling 8 oil seals). THese appear to be 15/21/2......I've been told that its pretty hard to get hold of 2mm oil seals. Anyway, I guess I should just order it all from a bike shop...(less hassle and sure to be the correct size etc). Just curious to know if any of you have tried sourcing the bits yourselves. Thanks in advance for any replies/ideas
  9. Totally agree with Woody and malcra on this. Two routes just makes total sense.(not a gripe with the trial of course Andy..since it was out of your hands). I observed section 14 and 40 and thoroughly enjoyed watching. One thing that always does bother me though when people discuss severity etc of trials is that the age and model of bike etc always enters into the thro. Well..oK..maybe I'm biased, as a modern bike owner but I reckon its largely down to the rider, and I was totally amazed..AGAIN at what some guys can do on a twinshock/pre 65 etc. They certainly put me to shame. Well done ..all of ya!! Cracking day..but I reckon next year I'll ride. Dont want to miss it again!
  10. Ouch...another one bites the dust, and one that I have used a few times too. What a shame!
  11. I would think calling the police would just get the place stopped for everyone, including trials riders...and trying to confront them, is probably not going to achieve the desired result either. I would suggest, HOPING that they will get bored soon....after all, Id be bored pretty darn quickly on an MX bike at Kilkenny (and I'm not anti MX, in fact I used to do it, and love it). Obviously there is a possibility that it will take longer for them to get bored than you may wish, but I would think its a certainty before long.....lets hope so!!!!
  12. Ooh!..you lucky guy! I'm hoping to upgrade Beta-wise soon...from my old Rev3. Please let us know how you get on with the 125 since I've been thinking about that for a few years now. I'm assuming you're an adult?...what weight are you? I've seen a few older guys riding the 125 and they all seem to still ride better than me, so I'm sure it would be enough for me. I'm about 150 pounds. ENJOY...the Evo looks like a great bike to me.

Ah!!..mecajental...at last I see someone from a Coruna. I used to work there a little bit. What a wonderfull place to live. You are a lucky guy. I hope I will come there again one day. Happy trials!
  14. John Lee is a dealer in Higham Ferrers Northamptonshire. A very nice bloke, and his two sons are big into trials, and work in the shop I believe. Google the name and I'm sure you'll get a phone number. He often has an ad in the back of TMX too
  15. People put all sorts of ugly spacers/extra washers on the final mounting bracket for the exhaust, but they are all totally unneccesary. If you take your rear mudguard off, you will see the two metal spar/rear subframe brackets. The one on the right (as you sit on the bike) is the one which holds the exhaust. Take a pair of strong pliers or maulgrips, and just slightly bend the hoop with a hole in it that the exhaust bolts too...obviously bend it slightly outwards. It wont break if you only bend a little bit, and a little bit is all you need. Put it all back together and the exhaust will be iin a perfect position. Just dont bend it too far, else if might be difficult to line up the exhaust when you put it back on. Hope that makes sense....coz it SHOULD be an easy fix, which wont mean having lots of extra washers or the like spoiling the look of your bike.
  16. Thanks motofire. Thats good to know. I will be changing them asap!!!!! Those standard chinese ones are yuch!
  17. HI all, Havent had a real CLOSE look at the grips on my daughters bike yet, but just wondered are they easy enough to change? At a glance, the throttle one seems to be all one unit, with the electric gizmo/charging light bit? Would like to change them coz the original seems so big for my daughters hand, and no grip on them. Gonna try to put renthals on there. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks
  18. Gearbox oil should be 550cc. I always use Repsol gearbox oil...available by mail order from BVM..(google it and you'll find them)
  19. I would agree with that NZRalphy, and to be honest, if I see one going at a price I can afford (used one) I would just go for it anyway, and just hope that the chap I spoke too has got it wrong. They're the best looking 4 stroke in my opinion, and I love the way its so quiet too.
  20. Thats what I thought....but just thought Id mention it.
  21. I'm pleased to see this thread. I was very keen on looking for one, untill I spoke to a dealer a couple of months back (he will remain nameless)...BUT..he was very sure I SHOULDNT buy one, and reckoned that there was some problem with the gearbox which has resulted in many where the gearbox has kind of 'exploded' (he used a better and more precise description, but it went over my head a bit).....resulting in smashed casing, etc...basically a write off? I'm still hoping this isnt true, since I love the look/sound etc of the bike...so will be pleased to see some reaction to this on the thread.
  22. Yep..bravo Wiggy. What a cracking start to the season! Long may it continue!
  23. HI Pitley, will do my best to round them up! See ya soon. STU
  24. Ooh, nice pic. Now I wish I was riding rather than observing! Mmmm...might have to rethink things here! Working on getting some of my mates up from Northampton area pitley, so hopefully there'll be some more entries soon. SUre they will come flooding in anyway....cant miss a trial in a place like this eh folks!
