    What Price ?

A Beta Techno would be a really good buy in my opinion. I would rather have one of those...(really solid bikes) than something a little newer frankly. Yeah..the twinshock riders still seem to say they ride them coz its cheaper, but its not is it!! I reckon they all just like to reminisce(sp?) Go for a techno or something similar I would...but up to you!
  2. Wheres the nearest airport, and can you hire a bike there? Any more info, like how much is it all would also be great. Cheers
  3. Thats why your trials are always good ones Andy!..you take peoples opinions on board. Sure its gonna be fantastic though, and I'm also sure anyone reading this that hasnt entered is going to regret it! I'll be observing on the 7th group of sections folks...and looking forward to it. See you all there!
  4. Yes, the sump guard is under a fair ammount of stress..if thats the right way to describe it. Its been a while since I did one but I seem to remember using g cramps to take the load whilst undoing the bolts, since the first time I ever did it I nearly pulled one of the threads out of the frame on the rear bolts.

    What Price ?

Sorry if I sound unsympathetic to your budget coz I dont mean to be, but if you've seen an 02 Sherco go for 650 pounds, then it was probably a bit of a shed! I agree with godzilla, not neccesarily about the make, but it would definately be better to have a good old bike than a crap newer one.
  6. Thanks both, will take that advice on board.
  7. Mmmm that was kind of funny. OK..so I'll put it another way, if anyone knows of any good bed and breakfasts I could stay at, please let me know...Oh! and of course, as mentioned earlier, a good place to watch from too!
  8. Yes....where is a good place to watch??..and to stay?? (<mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central>?) I've been meaning to go and watch for a while now, and this might just be the year! Thanks in advance for any advice
  9. Thanks for the pics hugo. THats the first Ive seen of those. What a great idea!!..will look out for some as soon as I start having any problems..which (touch-woood) I didnt yet.
  10. And then put your wifes toothbrush back in the bathroom
  11. Uh-oh old trials fanatic...hope you can raise the numbers at your club. Maybe adding an ac mono class will help.
  12. Hi Andre.. welcome to Trials Central. Have fun!!
  13. Uh??? I'm pretty sure I've only ridden one AMCA trial this year...However I did ride a Shropshire? one at a quarry near Much Wenlock a while ago..(cant remember when..and sure I didnt do very well there)...that quarry was fantastic though, cant wait to go there again
  14. DOnt usually see many 03s up here, so I'll keep an eye out and also check the local papers etc.
  15. Sorry to hear your bad news...yes, of course, will keep an eye out up here. I guess its an 03??
  16. Thanks for posting those billycraig....looks like I was lucky then!
  17. Hee-hee....I'll get you back for that!!!!!!!!!!
  18. Hi Gaz, Sorry to invade this topic..(momentarily)..but, I was thinking of doing the Novogar you mailed me about...never done one before, and would really like to have a crack at it...HOWEVER..I'm assuming I need to be road registered??....please let me know if you have time. If so...is that the case for all the Novogar rounds?..cheers..Oh!..and Hi..how are you!
  19. Mmmm....interesting..I've always thought about buying the Mrs a one way ticket!!!!!
  20. Thanks billycraig. Hopefully the same will be true for me, but if my email doesnt work I might ask you to let me know how I did..
  21. Good point Ralphy. I know a few guys who used to buy used trials bikes in HK and take them to other places in suitcases...OK they were big suitcase, but a trials bike in about 3 suitcases is easily possible. Check it in as spare parts! ....Oh and tell yer wife you'll be using her luggage allowance too.
  22. As far as I know the bikes imported to UK are the only ones with flywheel weights. When I lived in Hong KOng ..NONE of the bikes imported had flywheel weights on. THerefore,,,(since thats where I started riding) thats what Im used too, and I much prefer it, so always take mine off. Personally, I think its all down to the rider, I dont reckon a weight is suddenly gonna make one ride better in certain conditions.
  23. I did that Walsall trial too...good day out. Does anyone know where the results will show up?..Andrew said he'll email me them, but I suspect that wont work since my email is playing up a bit.
  24. SIDIs are excellent in my opinion, but as the other chap said..you wont know till you try eh!..If you've seen a good deal at BVM, buy them, and if you dont like them..sell them on I guess??..The fasteners on mine have never broken them and my current pair are 3 years old. Ok I only wear them once a week, but theres still LOTS of life left in them
