ALSo..sorry, I forgot to give you a set of bearings to do your front wheel too...but can do that next time I see you, unless you wanna do it before then.
-
Forgot to mention the other night Mal that bearing shops arent ALLWAYS cheaper than buying the bearings from trials shops. I've been surprised a few times that the original part from a trials shop was only slightly more than at the local bearing shop.
Hopefully someone will know the correct sizes for all the bearings you need...or MAYBE it can be found in a Gas Gas manual??
See ya

My first trials teacher used to tell me to cover the clutch lever always but not always the front brake, particularly when you're going up hill or over a big step. Then you can have more control over the bars..(particularly on a step)...Not sure how 'correct' that would be with the real big time pro riders, but I think its helped me.

I'm with Kinell...that 1,000 pounds goes a LONG way to paying competition fees, petrol to get there etc etc. I think even if I did have a larger income I would still want to save that 1,000 pounds.....OK..so maybe I'm just a tight-a***
-
Thats a cool story kinell...and now we all know how old you are too!
-
Cheers bikespace...keep us posted please
-
You still a funny guy bikespace....I kill you last!
-
When you say the Abergaveny trial...do you mean the Gilfach Triangle MCC one?
-
Pls let us know what you think after your test ride!
-
Sorry I cant help you dirtrider....but i'll be following this post with interest since Ive been wondering the same thing myslef.
You'll probably get some more replies from this side of the pond when everyone gets out of bed....or back from work.

There used to be a couple of guys in Hong Kong that I rode with that tried those and I,m pretty sure they liked them alot. Seem to remember them saying that they were SO identical to the Kehins that you could even swop parts between the two makes.
-
Try www.bvm-moto.co.uk
Sure they will have one, and I expect they will send to Bulgaria for you. THey used to send stuff to Hong Kong for me. First rate service!
-
Nice pics.
Reminds me of the days when I used to ride and just blow the dust off the bike afterwards. Here in UK its usually an hour or so of washing thick mud of the bike afterwards...which aint what I call fun!
-
Can you post some pics Darrell? Sounds like your Aprilia is probably looking quite good now....mine could do with a bit of TLC...maybe if I see a mint one, it will inspire me to do some work on mine

Hi Mal,
Only just checked your post sorry..hopefully you'll get more replies later, as I cant think of anymore than what we said on the phone. Dont forget if you want a ride tommorow though you're very welcome to use the Beta.
Interesting post from bifgasgas although for your sake I hope it might be something else, coz splitting the engine etc would be a bit pricey I suspect, unless you have a go yourself.
-
Absolutely...Alexz really does deserve a good deal...and its great to read about it.
-
Thanks to you too for observing!!
Was a good day at a great venue...again.
Shame there weren't a few more riders, but maybe next time eh!
Sorry to dash off at the end, but we'll have a good chin-wag soon I expect.
-
Good to see all those big names putting their time and names behind it...lets hope there is a positive result.
-
bugger...thats another trial I wont see you at then...mines not registered unfortunately
-
Aaaw..sorry just, but I've just sent off app. for the Glos and Cotswold trial on SUn.
Have fun..hope to see u at Nettleton or somewhere similar soon.!
-
YEE-HA!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorted...thank you all for your help. It WAS the stator after all...I must have missed something when I tried it the first time, coz I tried the new stator again today and off it went!
Roll on the weekend!
-
Speaking of which..how much are they these days..(i might like to get a new one in the not too distant future)...I heard they've gone up quite a bit recently??
If you get one Tombo..let us know please?...cheers
-
Thanks Aaron,
Got a CDI and coil on its way from Lampkins, and they said I can return the one I dont need. I just HOPE that one of them does fix it.
I was certain that it would be the stator...(very similar to the way it went on my previous Beta), but the new stator I put on last week made no difference at all, so ..like I say HOPEFULLY it will be the CDI or coil. Cant wait to get it running again. Even 2 weeks without it seems like an age!
-
NO.. but thanks for asking.)
THINK I've tried everything, so will be on the phone this morning to order a CDI......HOPEFULLY thats what it is. Will keep you updated. STU
-
Will do...thanks just.
as for borrowing a CDI....there aint really many trials riders near me unfortunately...just a few twinshock guys..so no chance of that.
Will be out in the shed tonight though, just in case....think its doubtfull that I'll see you tommorow though.
