Hi Johnny
Here are a couple of pics to get you started, unfortunately I dont have a shot of the linkage set up.
However, this design was copied for Fantic and used on the 301, so maybe a linkage set up from one of these would be a good starting point.
Good luck

Steve Martin DFX Honda World superbike rider was Australian schoolboy trials champion. Former Superbike riders Garry McCoy, Shane "Shakey" Burn, and Chris Walker also ride trials.
Can even remember some young kid on a Bultaco years ago called Damon Hill who......I think raced cars or something.

Wondered what happened to Ulf.........whats he doing sitting in your garage ?
I had a UKR from new in 1976, at the time it was the best bike out there and I cant beleive how they haven't become popular again. Seem to be a lot of them being used in Spain, and an easy bike to restore as all the bits are still available.

Hmmm....unless you decide to go the 250/320 route which then sets you back

The lovely Lisa on the SSDT 200 SWM.
Motosinge...........I'm told by friends in low places, that you knew Lisa "quite well"

Ah....those would be the "works" r2w trials slipper.....manufactured by Alpinestars, extensively tested in East Sussex, before being banned by both the ACU and FIM. There was an upside to the tale, and the Alpinestar "Brindleys" are now common place in the Bolshoi ballet
Sorry Motosinge, cant make Brokeback this Sunday.....Mothers Day
Ciao

Didn't they used the 175 Enduro piston for the conversion ?
Think I recognise the section in the middle photo Motosinge.........is that Brokeback Mountain ????

The electronic ignitions fitted to the Enduro & MX SWM's are tiny in comparison to the trials units. They also work "inside out"...with the coils mounted on the inside of the flywheel case. Using one would make it run like a motocrosser.
I think the later TXR Aprilias used an electronic ignition....perhaps Mr Seales may be able to confirm this .....however, you would need to check on the crank taper, as they do vary beteween models.
Cheers

When I moved into my new house, my golf playing/accountant next door neighbour clocked my bike and said "Do you know Dougie Lampkin then ?"
I thought that was pretty astute coming from a guy who couldn't be further away from the sport.....until I later found out the his Gran was Aurthur Lampkins sister !!!!....small world

Think it might make it unrideable Malc, I definitely have a new set of reeds if you want to try them....will need to check for the block though.

Tim,
They were only built from 1984 until the factory closed in 1985 and I'm not sure if any were actually sold here in the UK. I have seen a few in Italy, and it seems that there are lots over in America. Definitely a nice bike to ride, combining the Jumbo handling with the "easy to ride" 320 motor. Will take some pictures of my 125 & 320 Jumbos soon, but heres one from Canada.
This is the 1986 Mono SVM that was produced by Mauro Sironi after the factory went bust, it still uses the frame and most of the plastics and suspension from the Jumbo's.
Cheers

Whats this Armstrong doing on our nice new SWM forum ? Shame on you Motosinge
There seem to be a few of these Armstrong Jumbo's coming out of the woodwork at the moment, they use an Amal carb....and by the look of it, a petrol tap from Stevensons Rocket.
The works Jumbos, like Stu's Bernie bike, have a section welded into the front pipe to extend it, maybe to soften down the power.
Here's an example, wonder whats happened to the shocks ?

Me sat on Bernie Schrebers Works SWM Jumbo..........a welcome addition to my collection should Stu ever decide to sell it
Also great to meet a few more of the TC regulars, I will be at the show agian next year and happy to host the TC get together

Get hold of a 199A frame (there seems to be plenty of these around for not much money) and chop that about......that way if things dont work you still have your original 199B frame and you also keep your matching engine/frame numbers.

Your front wheel is out of an early 4 speed Bultaco trialer....probably worth more money than you think.

OK folks here are the answers.
Highboy frame

Dont know if there's a prize or not yet........probably nothing as class as a SWM though
But if you dont give an answer, you aint gonna win !!!
PS. Why hasn't Legs submitted a guess yet, he ought to know if anyone

A friend of mine recently found a copy of Sammy Millers catalogue with a price list from 1973. Now for those of you around at the time, this was the bible for any "bling" parts for you Spanish trials weapon, with loads of lightweight goodies on offer
However, how many can remember how much things cost back then ????
So, I have scanned 3 pages and for a bit of fun, take a guess at the 1973 prices of the following items....
1. The Sherpa mudguard stays (Item FM2)
2. The Ossa chainguard (MAR3)
3. Plastic front number plate (BSM)26
4. The fibreglass slimline kit....this came with seat and an alloy downswept tailpipe
5......and finally, the Bultaco Highboy frame kit.
Answers revealled on Sunday evening.....see who gets closest.
Good Luck

How about this one ?

Another pic of Don on the works KT.

Cant think how a flat spot in the crank pin would cause the motor to rev up on its own !
Would go with Ask greeves suggestion of damaged flywheel side crank seal, only other suggestion, have you checked the reed valves for damage ??
Good luck

Think you will find its a Wessex Centre event held around the Bristol area......here's a bit from the Bristol MC & LCC history (as you asked for info )
"Members were also nobly acquitting themselves in other fields of the sport. E. Kickham (a founder member) had gained a second on a Douglas motor cycle in the 1913 Junior T.T. race. Philip Grout had been appointed Chief Marshal for the T. T. races and he had also won the All-England amateur trials championship on a pedal assisted motor cycle. In later years the Club put up the Kickham Memorial Trophy and the now A.C.U.-run "Kickham Trial" is still one of the most important open competitions in the country..."
