  1. Yep, got to agree so far. If you've never tried doing it yourself before, its always best to watch someone else do it a couple of times. Then you'll know exactly what needs to be done and you can ask lots of questions like 'If I were to do this myself, what tools would I need.....' etc Strewth ! Must of been Quick Fit at that price ???
  2. Got to agree with Lewis, everyone has different taste and all the makes have their own 'feel'. What suits one rider might not suit another. Try before you buy if you can, just like everything else in life
  3. Split the difference and get a heavily discounted spanky new 07, plenty deals to be had just now if you shop around. Any money saved could be used for trick bits?
  4. I bought a pair of eco 2 boots of tinternet for
  5. Eh ? Lost me with that one
  6. Thanks for the info Gordon, I'll pass it on to the big fella
  7. Mmmmm ? Only 1 bid, user ID kept private ? Who is this mystery bidder ???? Go on Sherco fans, grab yourself a bargain. Only 2 days left........ Bring on the gimp
  8. Has anyone actually seen one of these beasties in the flesh yet ? Anyone ridden one yet ? All I've seen is the pic in the latsest YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE and it doesn't look like a cheap chinese build. On that note, it was a cheap chinese DNA 110 that started my son off on his passion for two wheels and it lasted pretty well considering the abuse it got. It now acts as a donor for whatever's needed apart from the nuts and bolts, they were made of chocolate and the dog ate them Back to the subject.......Xispa........125...........?............. No1 son needs a new bike.........should I or shouldn't I ?
  9. Most tools for most jobs until I bought my new gasser. How dare they change the thread on the flywheel puller !!!!!! I've already got 6 different types and none of them fit, suppose I'll need to add to the collection again..... On the subject of threads, I've just added a selection of Timesert thread repair inserts available from Wurth. Much better than helicoil if anyone's interested ? Happy spannering
  10. Thanks, I've just glued my thumb to the table !!!!

    280 Or300

If you're undecided then try as many as you can before committing yourself and parting with your hard earned cash. I've got 2 280 gassers, an 02 which never let me down and an 06 which I tamed down a bit with a flywheel weight and slow action throttle. I would class myself in the novice category even though I've been riding for years (naturally crap) and the 280 suits me fine. I've had a ride on Betas, Scorpas, Montys and Shercos - 125's, 200's, 250's etc and I love em all ! Price is the main reason I landed the Gasgas but I also like 'the feel' ? A personal thing not a sexual thing My son can beat me hands down on his 125 Sherco so I dont think engine size matters really (until you hit a big climb, then you miss the power) so why not try the 4T Scorpa ? Whatever you go for in the end just enjoy it Happy trialing
  12. Did you sell it to a big chap called Gav MacKay ?
  13. My son (yeh, and me cos I'm a big kid) has wondered why there's never been a decent trials game either. Moto Racer World Tour has 2 indoor 'sections' that keep you occupied for a minute or two but that seems to be the best going around. I reckon one of the top riders needs to get in touch with EA sports or whoever and get sumfin decent on the market. Tiger Woods and the late Mr Mcrae did very well putting their names to the games ? In the meantime I'll keep trying to master 'pong' !
  14. Hey all you TLR fans. A mate of mine has just purchased a TLR 200. He would like to know a bit of history behind it if possible- 1985 (?) white paint, red frame. Frame no begins MD09-5100.... It's in really good nik so I offered him forty quid for it but he say no ?????? Any links, info etc would be greatly appreciated, muchas gracias in advance. GJ
  15. Option 1; If it was my choice I'd go for the Raga. Lots of quality items already fitted and even if it does nothing for your riding ability it's always nice to have something a bit more special than standard. Option 2; Buy both and keep the Raga in the living room cos there's not much worth watching on telly these days ! Option 3; Don't buy either and invest your money in a Northern Rock account. Decisions, decisions ! GJ
  16. Any bike is good for a first bike, if it gets you hooked on the most enjoyable sport of trials then the Aprilia is the one ! Have fun but make sure you get that helmet first ! GJ
  17. Cheers R2, I'll give gasgas a ring and see if the same mod applies to the 02 model before I put an order in with original part no's. Crackin web-site by the way.
  18. Excellent link Bikespace, will make good training material for my son. Unfortunately doesn't show the crank and bearing/seal set-up but I'm sure I'll suss it out. I'm getting to like the internet now (old school but getting there) ! Cheers mate.
  19. Cheers guys, foretold is forewarned so they say. I'll search around for those vids bikespace, they sound interesting. Muchas gracias
  20. Cant help just yet as I've never split a TXT yet but I'm just about to. Need to do the same, replace crankseals, so I'm also interested in any info. According to the GG exploded picture theres only one seal to the fly wheel side and 'o' rings to the clutch side. Is this right ?
  21. What exactly do you need to set up ? Mixture ? Float height ? Needle height ?
  22. A true legend. Heart felt sorrow to the families.
  23. Yep, if anyone is going to drop you in it you can rely on the offspring !
  24. Welcome Bio, not been on here long myself but there's lots of good info here and off course, plenty banter. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Happy rebuild GJ.
  25. I agree with aficionado, getting the rear wheel 180mm off the ground is easy, 360mm very hard !!! Doogzie, I'm in the same league as you mate but as my son keeps saying "practice, practice, practice" (Thats what I used to say to him, amazing how the tables have turned :-) He tells me its all in the timing, I believe him. Evidently my timing is terrible but what the heck, its good fun trying ! When it comes to logs, the chainsaw wins every time .......... :-)
