Add another $40 from Team Motofire!
I'll talk to Noel about setting up a paypal account just for this purpose. I'm getting them good $$$ for doing my trials demo during AMA superbike at Road America first weekend of June, and I'd be willing to chip in another $50 of my own.

Yeah, not much you can do in that case for a progressive FLV. More horsepower or a bigger pipe is about it...
PM me if you ever need anything Flash related. Andy will vouch for my credentials. ;0
And no Craig, Noel still refuses to adopt me. And he never sends me a birthday card. I think that's a sign...

It's probably the size/compression of the videos themselves combined with a maybe not-to-fast server. Nothing you guys can do about it (but fillB can mail me offline and I can provide some advice...) PM me for email addy...

I think you should interview NorthernNorm! Cause you're gonna have to get Patrick to actually talk to do a radio interview..!!1

By the way... here's what happens when you take 3 years off and you're out of shape:
http://www.wisconsintrials.org/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=50
You score last in class!!
But i only took two 5's. And only one of those was a crash. The other one was because I thought I was out of bounds. But I realize now I wasn't. I was probably very close to missing the split but I could have gotten it back in. Mental failure.
That said, I'm sure I could have ridden the WOTA intermediate class and scored pretty well. That was the class I always rode in before. But I wanted more of a challenge. Nowhere to go but up from here...

I've already been thinking about this Wayne. But it's going to depend on the date and what's going on with the kids (and my house. I'm doing a lot of construction this year..)
Date wise, WOTA's Baraboo event is Sept 30/October 1.
(See http://www.wisconsintrials.org or http://www.geocities.com/baraboohillsmc/)
So there's a lot going on in September beyond that. So we'll see. I'd love to come down again, really miss that event..

Sorry. I meant laid off from RIDING, not from working.. my company got bought last year and I wished for a layoff! Sit around, wait for the severance to run out. That would have been sweet... But no, I had to keep working! damnit!
Been three years since I rode an entire season. I can only guess at how badly I'm going to score at next week's trial!

FYI, Don't listen to Noel, the bike isn't jinx'ed. That's the problem with his mind, he worries his little head about all that voo-doo stuff.
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Actually Noel didn't have any jinx-y things to say about it. And actually that was the bike I rode last September for the gate trial at Noel's. At that point I hadn't ridden but maybe once all year, and despite that the Sherco made me look pretty decent. My team didn't win the trial, but I had a much better ride than expected. So I was quite please with the bike....
now i just have to find my balance again.. and some (*&^(*&^ing gas money to get to Wauzeka!

Went down to Smage's and bought an '04 Sherco last night.
That's awesome, right? I've been on layoff for 3 years now! So I'm very excited to be riding again...
What's the scary part?
...
...
The bike used to belong to Craig. :0
(Don't worry Craig, I'm sure I'll be able to keep it sideways or upside down as much as you did.. )
OK I'm just teasing. Really.. I'm super excited to be riding again..

I thought I'd post this here because I know Craig and a few of our other upper midwest riders post and read here. I've got a thread started on wisconsintrials.org as well..
I just got this from Steve Kirchner..
<<<<<<<<<<<<<Steve, We have some interest in starting a Regionals with Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa and Illinois. We would like to include Minnesota and Wisconsin. I figured most people will drive 8 hours for a two day event. Let's hope the price of gas comes down. Anyway can you get in contact with your club members and have them contact me. Thanks Ken

That was my thought too. This kind of thing takes time and dedication to nurture. It's not something that's going to fall into place in a year or less.

Craig, please don't speak for the entire club. I think you meant to write 'some of us in WOTA'....
Actually we have more than 18 members and massive discussion is beginning on how we can build WOTA's ranks back up. I personally am putting a lot of energy into this for the '06 season.
Now, that said.. You and Noel are correct. We could do a national in Duluth or platteville, but the club just doesn't have the strength right now. So we need to focus on rebuilding the club to healthy numbers of ACTIVE participants. Once that's done then yeah, let's do a national.

I'm making a strong effort to bring WOTA's web site back from the dead. The webmaster (ie 'me') kind of lost interest for awhile. Well he's back and committed to improvements.
First improvement: a WOTA specific forum. All riders are welcome, but obviously the focus is on the lovely upper midwest. No doorway into it yet from the front page, but that should be fixed by next week..

I've said it before, but it bears repeating...
Rather than criticize the observing, get out and volunteer to observe. It's a very difficult task for the organizers to come up with that many qualified people who want to spend their weekend standing out in the rain watching only one section...
(This from the perspective of having observed at the 3 Duluth world rounds...)

ok BW what exactly does this entail for a job title!
see you at duluth.
kcj
Pain, suffering, moaning, wailing and gnashing of teeth.
I'll tell you about it in Duluth. I'll be there sometime on Friday. Sucks that I'll miss bike night on Thursday, but I didn't take thursday off and it's a six hour drive...

Correct. There's a play day on June 11th at Smage's and a trial on June 12th.
See http://www.wisconsintrials.org/ for details (and definitely call Noel)
Or go to any WOTA section at the world round in Duluth (I'll be in section 11 I believe) and ask..
Oh, and CITY TRIALS: I'll bring your shirt to Duluth...

Hmmm,
So I'd be able to ride my KTM, wear my Hawaiian shirt and dingle my balls without getting tossed out?
Hmmm. Somehow I think you'd get us -both- tossed out...

I'm looking for 2 guys to work my section (well, Mitch Mansker is section captain this year, so technically it's not -mine-) at the world round. 1 day each (then the other day they can observe). We train observers and you can't possibly get closer to the riders. Oh, and you can ride on the property if you're a worker AND we get you in for free..
AND I'll buy you a spotted cow!
Any interest? Know anyone who might be interested? I was hoping to find a local WI/MN guy, but thought I'd reach out to the community at large.
Les, Wes? You guys coming up from texas this year?
Any interested parties ping me here, or at bwolfe@macromedia.com or on my cell at 415-297-7468

What a first impression, speaking of Bentley, where is my polo shirt?
Please tell me you didn't accept one of his cigars... mine are far better.
Your shirt is at my house. You'll get it when i see you. But christ knows when that'll be..
Oh, and your cigars.. i don't think they're made of the same stuff as mine.

Aside from nearly freezing to death it was a fine day. It was great exercise walking the loop as well. And obviously I need the exercise.
I'm certainly proud to be able to say "I attended a trial in Scotland", even if it wasn't the 6 days...
Of course, that gives me a reason to come back...
Thanks Andy!
