  1. I wonder how many of the "knockers" actually organise any events. Perhaps the Prescotts did not get everything right but they put in a great amount of effort (and I would guess money) and tried something a bit different. OK, the Show and autojumble may have been a bit of a let down but no one can force traders to attend and jumblers tend to look at the weather before they commit themselves and the forecast was not good. As for the Express Trial, the riders all seemed to enjoy the format, the sections were just about right and the entry included some of the best Classic riders in the country. I am not too sure that big prize money for the winners is the way to go, perhaps good awards like tyres, rear shocks, chains etc. could be given to the top half dozen rather than one big money award. I was there on both days and thoroughly enjoyed the weekend and I hope that Charlie, Richard and Lee will ignore the complaints, learn from the experience and do it again next year.
  2. As many of you will know, we had to cancel the Retro65 2 day trial due to be held near Welshpool a few weeks ago. 60 entries were needed to make running the event financially viable and at the closing date we had only received 26. On the same weekend the Scarborough club ran a two day, Westmoreland club held a round of the Sammy Miller series and then there was the Euro Trial in Gloucestershire. Are there too many events or should we have followed the trend and opened the trial to Twin Shocks, Air cooled Mono's, Trail bikes etc. and had two routes instead of trying to run a genuine classic bike trial with a single route?
  3. As team manager for the Victorious BMCA2 team I would like to congratulate our team members. Not only did our team win the event but our riders Alan Nicklin and Robert Bowyer finished first and second overall. These two were backed up by Chris Denney and Keith Gardner with our fifth (non scoring) member Mick Parkes who rode with a painful back injury and made the finish with a respectable score. This is the first time that a team from the AMCA has won this event. To say we are well chuffed is an understatement.
  4. Hi, My name's Pete Dawson, I'm new to Trials Central but have been around for years. Have ridden Trials and Scrambles for 50 years next month on most makes of British, Spanish and Japanese machinery at some time or other. I am secretary of the Red Marley Hill Climb Club, Secretary for the Retro 65 two day trial and a regular rider in BMCA Classic trials on my little 170 Cotton Miarelli.
