  1. For cheapness - 2nd hand towbar and trailer from ebay. I got mine sorted for
  2. Don't worry about falling off in front of people. We all do it and no one cares. Watch the lines people are taking and ask advice. People love to give advice. Bring fuel for the bike and fuel for yourself. Tyre pump and pressure gauge are useful. Remember to have fun! Good luck!
  3. I tried it by accident when I put a new top end on my 315 (new bike to me, got the throttle cable stuck under the tank ) Didn't seem to have any bad effects I spent a while reading some of this mans' articles a while ago, some interesting reading.
  4. My mate fancied a change from his SY250 so took the 125 out and won the clubman route on it so it'll do that sort of stuff ok.
  5. 4 stroke 125 scorpa, lovely little thing.
  6. 80:1 for a modern bike mixed with a modern synthetic oil. As above anything more than that will just clog stuff up.
  7. What this man said! And you might have to run some software from the disk manufacturer to get the pc to recognize and format the new disk.
  8. You'll need to clean your carb out I reckon. The two screws, one with the spring sets the idle speed - you could try turning that up - and the other one sets the idle mixture.
  9. It lives!! Just need to wait for that pesky Ossa now...
  10. You can get replacement soles from Malcolm Rathmell I think who are the importers. We might be able to put them on for you, I'll PM details so as not to be advertising as such!

    4rt Shock Rebuild

Cheers for both of those. No one reckons I could do it myself then? I'm loath to pay
  12. Size 8 is about equal to a Euro 42. All manufacturers vary a bit so try the boots on inside the house so you can send them back if the size isnt right.
  13. Middlesbrough Club Darlington Club Scarborough mc Richmond mc Think thats a few near you....
  14. Has anyone got any advice on getting a 4rt shock rebuilt in the uk? I'm a reasonable mechanic so is it something I could do myself? I've heard that nitrogen is needed so that may be a stumbling block. Any specialists anyone can recommend? I'll do some ringing around tomorrow but always helpful if someone's been there and done it already. Thanks.
  15. I have to say in the fairness of having both sides of an argument - Since I got my 315 a couple of years ago I've had nothing but faultless, helpful, knowledgeable service from Sandifords and I am gutted to see them go. I do hope Caroline (I must admit i've never spoken to her...) gets this new business off the ground (and sorts the website - no search and no categorising by model??) but other than that I'm not sure who I'm going to get my spares off now...

    New Boots Needed

There speaks a man who's never seen me ride! My feet were on the ground so much on Sunday I was beginning to think Hiking boots would have been a better option!

    New Boots Needed

The cheaper boots are made using Lorica (i think this is what was meant when 'lycratex' was mentioned....) which is a leather substitute. Marginally easier to care for but doesn't bed in quite as well as leather. Gaernes come in Lorica and Leather versions. Not sure about the others. As a man involved in bootmaking I take a lot of care selecting boots, out of the ones I looked at the leather Gaernes seemed to be the best and after 2 years I am more than happy and they're still going strong.
  18. Instead of using the metal screws or bolts to attach the guard use either cable ties or plastic number plate bolts. Then when your guard hits the deck the ties snap instead of your mudguard.
  19. Worth wearing some eye protection with the spray type carb cleaner, it can spray back at you and its not nice in the eyes I promise!
  20. I don't think anything can help you fella....

    Sandifords?

Well my complete uniformed speculation would be that as they aren't the Montesa dealers any more they will separate off the spares business from the bike dealing business. Once thats done I imagine they'll transfer the outstanding orders over to the new spares company. That will leave their bike dealer / repairs side of the business able to focus on whatever new marques they're going to be concentrating on. Just a guess anyway...

    Sandifords?

They are always closed Tuesday and having dealt with them for a few years I have faith you will get your parts! Their website says they are restructuring so I'd expect a delay while they transfer orders over to the new company.
  23. I couldn't ride due to a bad back so I spent the day taking pics. There's 85 in total so probably a 50/50 chance I got you if you rode! They're on a facebook album so feel free to tag yourself. - CLICK ME - COGDEN TRIAL PICS If anyone wants enlargements or prints doing send me a message and if for any reason you want a photo removed just let me know. Cheers, John.

    Torque Wrench

Always use one, but mine has ft/lb and Nm

    Rad Weld...

I wouldn't use radweld, its a temporary bodge at best and leaves your water system gunked up.
