Can you repost the first link as it doesn't work for me. Thanks

Imagine been at the top of that huge rock knowing you've only got a few seconds left on your time limit, that's even worse! I did a British champs that had a horrible rocky steep downhill ending, having to go flat out down that cause I was running out of time was not nice.

Information copied from http://www.ducati-upnorth.com/tech/suspensionspring.php How To Read An Ohlins Spring Code 1091-34/100 is an example of a code you will find on an Ohlins shock spring. Using the below charts you can

what oil are you using, I've found the same thing with mine using gearbox oil, try using 10w40 instead as recomended by Sherco

Beta swingarms ain't that much better I've seen a few of them go too

Here is a picture of the Choke Jet Make sure this is clean, unscrew it and blow it back through with a airgun, also make sure the passageway in the bowl is clear, if this doesn't help you could try a larger jet, it's probably well needed in this cold weather.

I've never used a 118 main in the UK, I'd personally say it's too bigger step down and could be a bit to week with one in and it might cause a lean seizure. Sherco's from new have run a 126 main from about 2002 to 2005 and will rev out so I'd check other things first, such as the exhaust, two strokes are very dependent on the correct pressure waves from the exhaust. If you could answer copes question on how it sounds it would tells us a lot. Another test would be to flick the choke on when your revving it to see if it helps or just makes it far worse. Oh and if it is popping, miss firing it could be electrical.

You could change to the newer frame as most of the parts would swap straight over apart from the tank, airbox and rear mudguard. I doubt it would be worth the hassle though, unless you've just rebuilt the engine you'd be better selling yours and buying a newer one.

("Atomiser height 1.5mm" is that the Atomiser bush we're talking about?) Yeah the bit that protrudes into the main bore of the carb A 300 float jet might be fine with yours been gravity feed, you'll have to experiment.
-
The restricter comes as standard on the new 2011 Sherco I guess it is to reduce the fuel pressure from the pump. Also the restricter is 2.60mm and the float valve I upped from a 200 to a 250 which is 2.5mm so it's still smaller than the restricter.
-
It's a 28mm version on mine so not much use really. The carb is a standard on the 2011 Sherco 290, remeber this bike runs a fuel pump so you will possibly need a even larger fuel valve. Main 126 Pilot 33 Needle D48 Clip 3rd Slide 50 Mixture Screw 3 turns out Fuel valve 250 (200 as standard) Atomiser jet 270K Choke 60 Atomiser height 1.5mm Oh and it has a anti slosh plate installed around the main jet and a 2.6mm restricter in the fuel inlet.
-
It only fits one way around so it sounds like you've got it right.

The atomiser bush isn't that easy to change, yeah it is just pressed in but it is a tight fit and it is a pain to get at. I don't think the height is that critical as I've got 2 VHST one with a 1.5mm and the other with a 7mm 1/4 cutaway version, I've got them running very similar but I have had to use very different needles to achieve the same response. The S type pilot jet is more suitable for the 2 stroke but you may have to us the U type if you can't get a leak enough mixture as the the pilot jets start at size 32 which is what I'm currently using in the UK.

Not got much further with it to be honest, I'm a bit scared of scrapping a expensive carb, It' would be nice to see one before I modify this one. It is suppose to remove the slight hesitation found when cracking the throttle open and from what I've heard from people it is much better. The parts you need that are available come to £52 but you will need a new bowl drain screw and the carb modifying which won't be cheap. The parts are on SplatShop.co.uk just search for SPS

I thought offsetting the last plate might have something to do with the force distribution into the basket, with the offset plate there might be slightly less strain on the basket.
