check the power to weight ratio, you may find it's miles over
-
20bhp ish
Depending on your sprocket sizes 60mph ish as standard 90 maybe geared up in a tucked posistion, a bit of a wild guess though.
-
The Sherco 125 barrel is actually heavier than the 290 barrel, so it's nowt to do with the amount of material used!
-
Yeah there should be a woodruff key on the crank which matches with a slot in the flywheel so you can't get the timing wrong, I say should as it's quite common to hear of beta's shearing the woodruff key.
But if your taking the stator off your going to mess your timing up anyway!
The stator is slotted to allow it to be rotated so the timing of the spark can be advanced or retarded as required, you can scribe a line on the stator and the engine casing so you can get the stator positioned as it came off then the timing will probably be ok as long as it was right to begin with.

Correct as listed by Sherco on their manual Poster thing

Yeah but what do you do next year when every one is backing it up in the section, change the rules again so you can go backwards.
Why not get rid of all the rules then we won't require any observers.
-
He sounds like a good observer to me, I bet you only stop when it's absolutely necessary now in his section?
-
I do admit that a hell of a lot of the observers these days don't mark you for a stop but most of the riders don't know a 100% for sure so they try to keep there stops to a minimum, now they've been told they can stop for as long as they want that's what they'll do and they'll take forever to get through the sections.
I wasn't even born in the 70's so I'm not quite sure where your coming from there, I'd personally like to remain with the old stop for a one rule but with it observed correctly, the main reason it's no longer observed correctly in my opinion is that the sections are often laid out to tight and I don't personally think that tight turns are needed to make trials hard enough.
Now if I had to choose between full no stop and this new rule, I'd choose Full No Stop every time.
-
It been bad enough having to ride the British Champs under these rubbish rules but now all trials are going to sufferer the same fate!
I guess we will see a total demise of the number of riders just like in the British Champs which at the moment isn't even worth the organisers running the entrys are that low.
Maybe the only hope is if all the clubs go back to the full no stop rules, that's if there allowed?

110mm by 50mm ish
If your making them, make them to suit yourself everyone's different.

Have you melted the end off that exhaust!!!!!!!
Good effort!!!

It is possible to get to the crank seals without splitting the cases, on the clutch side you will have to drain the coolant, remove the kick start so you can remove the clutch casing, then you'll need to remove the clutch so you can pull the primary drive gear off you'll need some kind of puller to remove this as it is tight on the shaft. From here you can get at the seal, you'll have to put some self tapping screws into it so you can pull it out. On the Flywheel side it's just a case of removing the flywheel to get at the seal.
If the oil is a different colour are you sure it's not 2 stroke oil, it's usual to find two stroke oil in the crankcases not loads but a good covering on all surfaces.

This has got to be the worst decision ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The British champs is probably the worst it's ever been and personally I believe it's all down to the rules, most of the riders don't like it and even the spectators are moaning that it is boring to watch cause people are just pushing there bike through for 3's due to the time.
Yeah I can see that it benefits the 1% or less of riders who go and do the world round but is it really worth it just for them select few.
Please don't ruin any more trials.

Fry 9
Jenkins 9

Graham Harrison from Birmingham MCC has just been on the phone to me quite upset about this post.
He wishes to express that the trial is definitely still ON and he has no idea where this rumor came from.
Graham is the Clerk of the course and the Secretary of the meeting for the Victory Trial so this is 100%
beatabeta or moderators, I'm sure graham would appreciate you changing the title of this post.

Hi

I can't belive Shirty has said this
"The Scott is Waynes favourite event so you can be assured of maximum commitment. A quick wheel change because of a puncture over Grouse Moor slowed him down slightly but he battled on with a good observation score 64 and finished 7th at the end."
"Sam Haslam was 13th with both steady time and observation scores. Sam also suffered a puncture which he fixed and then later changed wheels as he didnt trust the 3 bungs that were needed to repair the slit in the tyre wall."
-
I believe he will be doing shows from how on.
