It is just missing the bottom stickers on both sides, I reckon anyway, the 08 was the first year to come with the black yokes, the 07 had silver ones. I wouldn't worry about one broken front mudguard it easy to break them when they are new.
And as for the tyres needing to be replaced, I'm on my 4th front tyre and god knows how many back tyre I've had on this year, if your really competitive you'll be changing to a new edge after every event sometimes you can do two.

Have you made sure it is the fan?
Quite often it is the thermostat or the rectifier that goes stopping the fan from working.
Test the fan on a car battery.
Oh and if it is the fan the newer ones of the 09 bikes are cheaper.

Hands down, Best grips ever!
I've had mine on for over a year ridding every weekend and they've done the Scottish 6 days and they are no were near worn out let alone worn through to the hard bits.
Dabster must have sand paper hands or something.

Be sure to clean out the filter on the carb as well, undo the 10mm headed bolt where the petrol pipe goes in and give it a good blast with the air line.
-
That sounds fairly normal to me, new oil will improve it slightly but they still drag a lot while the engine is off.
I use Ipone Gear Box oil, I think it is call Box 2 but any good synthetic light motorcycle gear box oil will do.
Some use ATF but this tends to make the clutch snatchy, some like it, I don't personal preference thing

You are quite close to me, I'm just south of Sheffield, if you want I can take a look at it.

It is very easy to damage a bearing when installing it, this could be another reason.

Change the rules back to how they used to be, that's my answer anyway.
These new rule make it much easier for the better riders and make it harder for those who are struggling on a route.
-
You can get a ride even if you are not on the list as long as there isn't a full entry in which case people on the list get priority.
The regs haven't come out yet so I can't get you any details at the moment.
-
Are you sure, I've got a 02, a 07 and a 09 in the garage and I reckon they are all geared the same. I might have to go out and check now.

MRS are the sole importers of Sherco motorcycles they don't really have a shop as such just a warehouse.
Try SplatShop for your piston.

I think your going to need a replate to be honest
In your picture it looks like the plating has come off a little bit. Are the marks holes or lumps, if they are holes as it looks like then do not put any acid on it as it will eat the aluminium under the plating causing more damage.
If they are lump then you could try disolving the aluminium off, I'd use cautic soda (sold as drain cleaner if some shops) as this will disolve the aluminium nicely, aluminium tends to be fairly resistant to acids, your plating will be eaten away with nitric acid (I'm not sure about Muratic acid).
Hope this helps

-
It could be all sorts, I'd suggest taking the clutch casing off, then taking the clutch out totally if it still makes the noise it has to be something rubbing in the crank cases or bad mains, if not check all the gears for tight spots or missing teeth on the water pump gear as it easy to break these if the gears are not aligned when the case is put back on.

Rubber bearings?
Shercos have rose joint bearings (spherical bearings) in the shock, they do have rubber seals to keep some of the crap out.
If there is play in them get them changed, any play leads to extra shock loading of the other suspension parts causing wear and possibly even failure.
-
It's no wonder they had gone then!
-
I think the original idea was so riders wouldn't have a minder at every section.
It should be the rider that does the decision making on where he goes, makes it fairer to all the riders if there is no minders and I dare say probably a lot more enjoyable for a few of them.

Nice try but as I said earlier all mine started VNBS and mine where all genuine UK bikes.
Welcome to the forum

I'm on my 15th Sherco and every one of them started VNBS129TR, weird?
I don't think you will find anything out about a trials bike from the VIN
