Am trying to get my lad some of the 08 Jitsie clothing for Xmas but can't find who sells the new range in time. Sadly he refuses to follow his Dad in the latest Wulfsport gear!
Could anyone point me in the right direction in time for Xmas day? Thanks.

Muel, call round or pm me, we'll sort summat owt re your riding, I can give you a lift sometimes pal or Andy's Mum can.
Could have sorted that at the Thornsett trial too, just depends what shifts I'm on. But Andy's Mum can drive the trailer (reversing is the problem!)
Sithee soon.

Have a look on the 'trials reviews and previews ' page, bit of info there, but to clarify its a superb trial, sadly rode it for the first time last year and realised what I'd been missing.
Great trial and cracking bunch of people who organise it.
Can't wait.

Any chance this topic could be deleted for a while? Its because my son is due home in an hour and if he sees this he'll go on and bloody on about having a Gasser 4 strike and it'll just end up costing me a lot of money. He won't shut up either . I've tried the 'sorry pal the computers knackered' ploy but I can only carry that off for so long before he cottons on.
-
In a word 'brilliant', did it for the first time last year with my lad and his mate. Superb trial, great sections, views you would not believe and a cracking set of organisers and folk who run the trial. It'll be a priority for next year.
-
Numbnuts, thanks for observing and all of your input, you should have ridden pal and got that other bloke to have a go too. You know that Damian character with the bad flatulance!!
Good night last night too just wish I wasn't driving then I could have had a few more pints!!
Sithee soon pal

Went on a 'war walks' coach trip last year in France, visited the WW2 D Day landing beaches of Omaha, Gold, Sword, Juno and Utah. Spent some time at Omaha - immaculate white headstones and beautifully kept gardens but an eerie feeling which I suppose was a mixture of respect and guilt along with an overwhelming feeling of being unworthy.
There were many WW1 burial sites too, German soldiers had grey headstones, it was a sad butstrangely enjoyable trip and plenty of beer flowed (mainly strong Belgium beer!) but it made everyone stop to think and many heart strings had a hard time. I just hope the respect continues.

Yes I agree with that cop who ran the blogs, he's written a book too 'Wasting Police Time' by David Copperfield, a sad indictment of our times but very true. A couple of lads I used to work with are now residing in your country and working as cops, they email me from time to time and say although some things are similar, you don't have the same level of political correctness yet (although I understand its on its way). They also say family values are far more prevalent in NZ than in the UK where we are bordering on anarchy.

Dabster; apologies but this dead horse is having one more kick!
Bikespace; I read your posts and can only agree with your comments, however if the cops have info that your car was broken into and there is cctv then why haven't they got that footage? You should complain, we need to act and act quickly if there is a line of enquiry. Most places which have cctv only keep it for a certain period of time. It is a fundamental piece of Police work to chase up any possible line of enquiry. I want to catch people for committing crimes but need help to do so, we all need to work together and hopefully redress the balance.

Many comments in the previous posts suggested that most cops are useless which is not the case at all, a minority may be lacking in certain area's just like any cross section of the general public but the majority are decent and hardworking people with morals and principles. These cops support the view that our current judicial system is weak and inept, governed and operated by weak do-gooders who are far removed from the real world. Some of you may have seen the daily papers recently where a disgustingly inadequate Court result was highlighted. The offender was a male in his twenties who was travelling on a packed bus in London, a 97 year old chap was stood up holding on to the upright pole as no-one had offered him a seat (another sign of our times) as the offender made to leave the bus he collided with the elderly gent and his hat fell off, he called the elderly gent a b*****d and promptly punched him in the face before getting off the bus. The victim was badly injured and the assault resulted in him losing the sight in one eye, at Court the offender was convicted and his penalty was a three year community punishment order (replace the word punishment with joke) he should have been given a custodial sentence to protect society, in prison they cannot commit offences against society.
Another post refers to civilians perhaps lacking in some respects, I work with many of these people and would argue that most are capable and caring people but some are not, one common complaint from cops is when joe public phones police to report say someone breaking into a house, until we get there joe public is our eyes and ears and we should be keeping him on the line if he is not compromising his own safety, however its almost like the call has to be terminated and when we call over the radio 'is the caller still on the line' the response is usually 'no they have terminated'. On arrival the caller, when spoken to will say that they wanted to stay on the phone but the civilian terminated the call. Its down to training but call takers are governed by targets, one being how many jobs they can clear, so the pressure is for them to get rid of callers, another home office piece of red tape.
This government introduced Police Community Support Officers, they are supposed to build bridges with the community especially the youth element, some have done a good job but generally (despite many individuals best efforts) the idea is a failure, they cannot be confrontational and if a group of youths get a bit mouthy then they have to request a uniformed cop so what is the point, we should just employ more cops.
Before I bore you all completely (some probably already are!) most shifts are ten hours, and in around a half of them I do not get a break, no brew and no food, that is how busy I can be along with the rest of us. I cover a division with a population of around 300,000 people, on an average night we will have between 12 and 15 cops on duty, recently we had three serious crime scenes by 01.00 which needed 2 cops on each scene to preserve it until scenes of crime officers (fingerprint and evidence retrieval people who are usually civvies and wear the white suits) could attend the following morning. This left 9 cops, by 02.00 hrs 5 cops had made arrests and were dealing with prisoners leaving just 4 cops to try to look after a huge area and population.
If the public knew what I know about dangerous people, they would be asking for a general election now although the electors voice has no choice - Cameron? waste of space, Monster raving loony party would be a better option. Many are being released early (violent or paeodophilic where the probation and prison service have expressed concerns prior to release) and yet they are released (often to an unknown address) which shows the level of inadequacy and incompetence in this country.
If I am working a Friday evening I'll take an extra shirt as Iwill usually get covered in someones blood, or vomit, or urine or faeces or perhaps a mixture of two or more.
None of us probably have an easy job and mine certainly isn't but its interesting and rarely boring, just very frustrating and makes you very cynical, Andy mentioned that someone he knew left the cops at the ripe old age of 22, well if i was not tied to the pension I'd have gone a long time ago.
Oh and despite my requests for those to pm me as per my previos post where I did not believe their complaint I still have not heard anything.
No more posts/rants now I promise.
-
Mac I suppose I should be thankful you didn't put the bit in about trigger eh! But I'll be wearing the gaudy purple ones anyway as no-one can look at these for too long without feeling ill, plus the fact I'm working so the only chance of getting a winner is if our Andy blabs and he will do at a price (half a free burger!)
-
As a serving cop wth fifteen years service in Greater Manchester Police I'll give you an idea of the disgustingly poor service provided by most forces (or services as some do-gooder would prefer to call us) which is mainly due to government pressures so that statistics can be manipulated to attract the potential voter coupled with a huge amount of beauracratic nonsense which most primary school age children could improve upon.
First of all Iconic if the cops said to you;
quote; ""ooh, right thank you sir, we will get someone there this afternoon, goodbye sir" and they did nowt about it, and that was after you told them you had found your stolen bike, then make a complaint, pm me if you want advice or help and I'll do whatever I can to help and hopefully improve things.
As for getting a ticket for speeding doing 82 in a 70 well as a driver you accept the risks. Although people with regular incomes who commit such traffic offences usually pay the speeding fines and a cynic could say they are easy money for the government.
But then if you have kids and you hear for example that your son or daughter have been injured after being knocked down whilst on a paper round at 7am when the traffic is light (and people tend to speed more) then what would your view be? Around 4,000 people die on our roads each year but the number killed as a result of violent robberies, burglaries and assaults is less than 25% of this so what needs to be addressed?!
As for the "sir can't put anything 'in-place' as an anti-theft deterent that may cause distress or worse injury" conversation.... this is garbage as reasonable force can be used but you cannot be seen to use excessive force. I was a dog handler for six years and my dog bit a fair few people for the right reasons, sadly he once bit an offender who was 28 years old and a big lad (I was glad the dog dragged him out of the bushes rather than me as he was built like an outside toilet!) he admitted the offence and was returned to prison but made a complaint that he had been scarred for life after being bitten and was paid an undisclosed sum to stop him going to court by my force this despite him admitting to the original offence! So in other words we pay the criminals for committing offences, is this world going mad? No as its gone mad.
If you give me credible evidence that you know where a stolen bike is I will act on it but you have to provide good information, and the view that the cops in the UK are worse than useless is unfounded as the problem is not with the cops but the hierarchy. Coupled witn a few very exciteable people who very often cannot support initial allegations> Example, a neighbour who you do not like decides to make up some allegation that he has seen his stolen bike in your garage, we come along and execute a warrant or arrest you and then conduct a search for stolen property (either would be a legal course of action) but we do not find anything, what then?
madcr500 reports that some bloke was taking photo's of kids outside his house but the cops did not do anything despite him phoning them twice a night for two weeks and some bloke made a sexual complaint and the offender was sentenced to three years? I want to know exactly what this complaint is about as I do not believe that cops (most of whom have children and are far more aware of the concerns raised by the presence of weirdo's tthan the general public did about it. As a parent and a cop I do not believe what you are saying and if those things have really happened then pm me and I will help with the justified complaint but you are talking crap pal as if you do have good cause for complaining then 3 yrs would not be qa result at the moment.
I agree his country is on its a***, three days ago a polish bloke was arrested by me and it transpired that he had committed over 30 crimes in his own country before being allowed into Britain where he disappeared, our authorities do no know where he is now just like thousands of others, this country is on its a***, would the last person to leave Britain please turn the lights out.But I'd like someone to leave few quid just in case.
Night folks.

The first post from 4ourtea was undoubtedly provocative and caused a valid response, any calls to delete were right to be dismissed as its resulted in a huge show of support for Shirty and challenged the initial and somewhat insulting post. On saying that, to be fair, 4ourtea posted agin when I thought he'd have been buried under the heavy artillery fire and would not re-appear, and while I do not agree I reckon he takes a few steps back on what he was getting at in the first place in his second post
We've had Gassers for a fair few years now and they have all been spot-on and reliable, and at the moment my lad runs a 280 and I run a 300, both 06 models, we've never had a problem with the 300 and the only problem I've had with then 280 is that I've had to pay for the bloody petrol, oil, entry fee, etc as he was a bloody student until 3 weeks ago when the tight little sod I refer to as 'son' got a job!!
Not only that but virtually every member of the Gas Gas staff are well into off road sport, on the trials side they not only compete but act as secretary, set out, collect flags, sort route marking, run club meetings, update results, and are a top bunch of people. And despite popular opinion Andy (Father Jack) Hipwell is a good lad too but is an alcoholic and when he plays pool he sees at least three white balls and always goes for the wrong one!!

Ay up folks, anyone going to the Gasser test day this Saturday at Hawks Nest? Should be a good do, the 08's will be there and so will Father Jack off the telly, he has recently acquired a trick looking yellow Gasser and once you get used to him shouting 'DRINK' and riding between pints he's not that bad really! Just need to get the day off now - fancy a ride on the 125 after seeing Factory Kev last wekend in th Macc clubs John MacDonald road trial grinning from ear to ear. Altough not sure if that was down to the bike or the amount of Budweiser still swimming round his system from the previous night where I gave him and Father Jack a lesson in playing pool!!
Sithee there.

How can no female be a 'problem'!! That is great news as you can still do what you want, houses sap money but nowhere near as much as a woman!! Oh and the Wulfsport stuff is ready and waiting but it does carry a hire charge of around 2 pints an hour!! Now where have I heard that before!!

Good to see you today pal, oh and give my regards to your brother, sound bloke. I could see it in your eyes you really want a bike again so get one, bo**ocks to the house for now (don't show the Missus this!) just go and get a bike. In the meantime if you fancy a ride I have the Gasser 300 or a very sweet Yam pinkie you can borrow any time you want. There is a hire fee of course which works out at around two pints an hour!

For those wanting to camp overnight at the Wild Boar, the landlord could do with knowing how many will be eating so he can put a few tables to one side for us, if those camping could arrive by 6pm at the latest and we can give him an idea of numbers. They stop serving food at 8.30pm then they have live music. Should be a good do.

Having ridden and observed for over twenty years I feel more than able to comment. Matt, have you ever observed at a club trial which is five laps of ten sections with an entry of one hundred riders? I expect not judging by the tone of your posts. That means you have to watch five hundred rides, you reckon you can concentrate and score every ride accurately without error? Well its impossible, other factors affect the ability to concentrate too such as the weather, distractions such as riders mates or parents asking what score you have just recorded, what you are stood on (precariously balanced on a moss covered rock) or whether you have to move several yards for each rider in order to see him/her through the whole section. My parents often observe, recently my Dad who is 71 years young, had a sixteen year old youth giving him some stick over a disputed score, he had two dabs and also had a momentary balance session whilst stationary so in accordance with the rules of the trial he was docked three marks (including one for the stop). The youth was abusive then rode off to his Father who was watching (like a lot do, following their precious offspring round week after week but avoiding an observer board like the plague) and was as equally abusive and swore at my Dad. I'm afraid to say that I'd have had more than words with him if I'd have been there, mouthing off at a 71yr old, no wonder we struggle for observers. I remember observing a Rochdale trial two years ago and got a load of abuse off some spoilt brat who nearly ended up having to have the observer board surgically removed from his anatomy! After calming down I thrust the observer board at him and suggested he had a go, he declined but the attitude changed for the better. These people are the backbone of our sport, Ishy makes a valid point earlier in that we should help and support them, acknowledge them, have a joke with them, include them, and observe from time to time and put a bit back.
As a society we increasingly lack respect, its about time we started having a bit more.
-
And just to add that if anyone can observe or knows someone that can the club are offering a free ride in a Macc trial and you will get a free drink in the Wild Boar on the Saturday night coutrtesy of Andy (Im so tight my a*** sqeaks when I walk)Hallam. Although he doesn't know it yet! Any willing observers can contact Gail or John on 01663-765857.
Anyone else wanting to help set out can pm me.
Thanks eiger

Mac very funny that! Must admit I wasn't sure if I was annoyed at losing 50p or realising my beloved Wulf gear had a hole, you just wouldn't expect t after eleven years would you!
As for the J Mac it might be an idea for those wanting to camp on the Saturday night to let us know how many so we can let the Pub know as I understand it can get a bit busy on a Saturday night. See you soon.

Hope all is well. This is a reminder that the Macc club (www.macctrials.co.uk) are hoping (subject to the foot and mouth crisis) to run a cracking road trial on 21st Oct. The start is near a pub - the Wild Boar - who have a campsite at the rear of the pub. (Check the link from the club site) 20 sections and 2 laqps.
So the plan is that after pitching tents on the Sat night we enter the pub where the recently employed Andrew Cecil Hallam (as long as he has enough time now he's working all these hours!) has promised to buy all trials enthusiasts a round from his moth infested wallet!!!
Southerners are welcome as long as they ride with 50 psi in both front and rear tyres! (The Addict included and any mates he brings!)
The winner willbe Iain Robinson who's Dad owns the famous Hawks Nest and who has recently purchased all of the land around Wincle too! Any other potential winners will be immediately classed as guests!
The pub does good food and the campsite which is in the rear garden (falling distance) has toilets and showers etc.
Sithee there folks

Great shame its not on as its a cracking trial and run by a decent bunch of people. The AA (Alcoholics anonymous) have also injected funds now that a key member has been identified as Father Jack with his blue and yellow gasser!! Sadly to no avail. The addict and his band were all set too as it was a superb trial year, anyway I challenge Father Jack to enter the forthcoming John Mcdonald roadn trial by the Macc club, camping is available sat night at the wild boar with guest beers and good food!! So bring your own otherwise Father Jack will have drunk the rest!!
