Hi guys, I have a small situation with the kick start on my Evo. Stupid as it seems, I have lost the small spring and ball bearing that keeps the lever into the bike when riding. Sadly, these little blighters are not available from Beta themselves, only a complete unit at £87ish. So.... does anyone have any information on the sizeof the ball bearing and the diameter and length of the spring please ? Better still, any idea where said components could be sourced from ? Thanks in advance

Hi all, I am interested in getting a SY250f, maybe in longride version. As an overly mature ( nearly 50 ) novice, OK total newbie, as my wife has just reminded me !!! A few questions please : 1. Would it be suitable to enter low grade events on the novice route ? 2. When I progress to expert level ( dreaming ) what would it take to convert the longride to a standard trials version, would it need a new tank, seat and mudguard units ? 3. Any other comments on the 2008 f model would be appreciated. Or any other make/model that might suit my requirements. PS only other advice my wife has said I should mention is that I am 6ft and the wrong side of 18 stone at the moment, but she still love me ! Thats until she finds out how much I want to spend on a bike ! Thanks in advance.

Sorry mate. no insults meant. It's just that Jack said that you bike looks great but your riding leaves room for improvement. Better than me though !

when i started out, i was crap, and i had a crap bike WHATS CHANGED ?

Same to you Jack. The reason for getting it was two fold ! Firstly it was cheap, ( rattling but cheap ),. Secondly and most importantly, I heard that HOVIS has a one piece lycra suit that he wants to sell, formerly owned by Dai Bedford, but Hovis has had his sponsors logo ( MAGNERS ) put on it. I have heard that observers rub their eyes in disbelief when they see it on him that they forget to mark him so he gets cleans ! Merry Christmas.

Hi Dan, merry Christmas to you. I have only recently bought the bike. The seller told me of the noise prior to me buying it. Its a great condition bike, he was a really nice chap, honest and the bike seems genuine with the right mods to it. More importantly it was within my budget and I still have money to put it right if needed. I will check all the bolts next before stripping, perhaps that wont be required. I will let you know. Thanks once again.

My 07 Rev 250 has developed an top end rattle. It does not effect performance and the bike starts and runs well. The noise is from the top of the engine ( sounded by listen stick ) with no bottom end noise at all. My thoughts are that it may be piston slap as it decreases a little when the engine warms. I am tempted to renew the ring, small end etc as a first resort. Is it false economy to not renew the piston at the same time and how much will I save if I dont ?

Thriving club in Merthyr if thats not too far from you. They are holding nearly 20 events in 2008. A really friendly bunch that cater for all abilities. The Sec is Kay on 01685 350798. Good luck.

New mudguard ? Is there a story as to what happened to the old one ?

Eatting, drinking or urine taking machine ???

Did you feel you needed a 270 to beat HOVIS ?
-
Do you know if the weight is fitted to 07 250 as well ?

How long did you have to hold your breath for the photo ? VERY nice looking bike too ! Thanks for the photo.

What dealer did the French Delight come from ? Did you not consider a Beta 4ST ? I am close to getting a250 Rev3 now but am aching ( yes aching for a 4 stroke ). Barry in AB has sold his. not sure if Mr Kemp has still got Workmans ? Still pondering whether that extra
