  1. Do you think on a spanish speaking site, that the downloads of Raga would be higher and on the Japanese site, maybe Fuji?
  2. Must be because I am one of them Merikans but it is just flying over my head..... Maybe that is it, you guys get Lane, and we don't.
  3. Think it was on the Austrailian importer site. I believe it was just the parts break down though. Not a "manual" per se.
  4. I forwarded this to Dan, I believe he is out of the country at the moment but I am not sure. That is an interesting offer for sure.
  5. I do not use the silicone. Did you use silicone grease or RTV type silicone? What I do is clean everything very well, then apply rubber lube, rubber glide, tire mounting lube, gaithers tire lube or super slick tire balls lubricant (some kind of made for the purpose tire / rubber lubricant) to the entire rim strip and then install it. Making sure it is nice and well seated. Yes, I remove the small spacer thing that keeps you from squishing the rim band too much. I believe that sometimes it keeps you from squishing it enough. With it out, you have to gently tighten your valve stem in as if you just keep tightening, you could destroy the rim band, but you can also hold it and give it a little extra cinch down. added on edit Here is the link to the RYP instructions. The peice I am calling a spacer is referred to there as a collar. http://www.shercousa.com/pdfs/rim_band_rep...ment_manual.pdf
  6. Oh, good point Chris Christina will be there on Womens 2 line. Dean on 3 line, 9 year old class
  7. I ,,,,Jussssst Cannnnnnn'ttttt Stoppppp Myseelllllflffffffff Alright Lane, I just gotta know. What exactly did your "sponsorship" of the TDN team entail / include?
  8. Max, Dabney and others that utilize 5 lines in your club. (expert being the top, no National Champ level lines) Do you think you could "sell" to your club the idea of your club having Line 2,3,4,5,and 6 and your current top line being #2? Or do you think it would go over better that the expert line is line A and a champ line is AA and a world line I guess would be AAA. At some point, this has gone from being a simple, hey, lets all use the same names, to something very obtuse. I guess that is why they say that a Camel is a horse designed by a committee. Anyway, straight up answer from you guys in a 5 line club?
  9. The 06 Youth Nationals held at TTC are just around the corner. Wondering what board personalities we will get too see there? So, anyone on here going to be able to come out?
  10. Pull it apart, remove the little spacer thing on the valve stem that keeps the space for the rubber strip. Remove the sealing band and clean everything thoroughly. From here you will get differing opinions as to what to use, but lets say replace the rimband, some (like me) use tire mounting lubricant, some will say use grease, some will say to use Silicone lubricant, and some will say use something like a silicone sealant (RTV) like Sikaflex. Anyway, get the rimband back in fully in place. Carefully tighten your valve back in because you threw away that spacer. Remount the tire and you are on your way. This is outlined at www.rypusa.com in the manuals section. (except the throw the spacer away part) Having one that goes flat at random times (I think you will find it will not be a consistent / steady leak) is a maddening deal. I would fix it.
  11. When the Camelot group was going better, we had around those numbers as well. For us to get together and ride (8 to 12 folks) we just had a ride. We had the sections out there, or made stuff up as we went, but would not want to go through the hassle of sanctioning, etc. etc. for that. Just would not be worth it too me. However, once a year we would pull together and hold a joint Trials between STRA and TI. Both AMA sanctioned clubs, and we would pull the AMA insurance, sanctioning etc. to have that event. But we would do this under the major clubs name. (we happened to use STRA, but could have done TI as well) Not sure of your exact area, but the STRA helps small clubs like Camelot, CTC (Chattanooga Trials Club) etc. by helping us to pull the AMA insurance for the fun events if needed. I guess it boils down to a personal decision as to how you want to handle it, and what liability you are comfortable carrying. For 8 buddies to go ride in the woods for an afternoon, I personally would not want the hassle of doing a full sanctioned event. I would agree with all the benefits that Wayne outlined, and I am an AMA member because I think we need someone that believes a bit in motorcycles lobbying up there in Washington. But we never pulled an AMA sanction (on edit this should say charter) for Camelot, we spoke about it, and felt there would not be enough members or benefits to make it feasible. I do believe that the CTC went the other way and went ahead and chartered as an AMA club. You may write some of those guys direct and see what thier thinking was and how they feel about it at this point. May give you a better insight.
  12. HEHEHEHEHE Ok, I get it now. It needs to be one of those online things for that crew though, you would not actually expect us to RIDE would you? We need to get that online game and set it up like those MOH games or whatever then we can all just go head to head........... In the MotoTrials format from the 80's.....
  13. So you going to show? Have to test and see if I am qualified to ride to the Lane Standard.
  14. You wouldnt show..... OK, I will tell you what Lane, I suck, cannot ride for nothing, you are the Man, the Myth, the Yardstick by which I must be measured You will be at the Youth Nationals, and So will I, so I get my opportunity there to see if I measure up and am allowed to compete in National events. You staying for the TDN benefit July 4th? We can see if a poor pathetic fat guy like me can measure up. If you will be traveling I am sure we can work out a straight heads up event one day during the week. (I won't be there Tue and Wed) Looking forward too it. Oh, and added on edit,,,,, smart@ss or put up or shut up... either one is about the same too me.

Whats wrong Lane? I tell you to put your money where your mouth is and you are so wishy washy you cannot even tell where that should be? If we were so great 10 years ago, how did this all go to pot? I do not claim to have the sure fire, three winning secrets to becoming world champ. Not sure I care either. I care to make it an enjoyable sport to share with my family. If something develops, and one of my kids progresses, then would go from there. But I am not going to run around telling everyone else in the world how to be World Champ. And the things I talk about, here or wherever, I put some effort into carrying them through, and trying to work with the correct people to see it implemented, rather then just going off on a tirade / tangent about how they should have done it. So, telling you to put up or shut up is being a smart@ss in your book? Oh well, somehow I will live with myself. You stated the goal's and what needed to happen. I am just telling you to back up your statement. And NO, you have not done it, go off on a rambling history lesson again if you want, but the fact still remains, you laid it out there, now make it happen.
  16. The Primary benefit of the AMA for most clubs is the insurance coverage that they can provide at a reasonable rate. If you have alternate means of procuring that, or have great big XXXXXX and are willing to run without, then I doubt AMA would benefit you much.
  17. Folks will be more likely to accept adding a number to their class names (I think) then they are willing to accept changing the order of the names. But just as you are saying 5, I always think in terms of 6.
  18. http://www.trialscentral.com/user_photos/a...es/OY7V4514.htm Well, not the whole bike, but you get the idea.

So Lane, when you going to make that happen? Instead of telling us all the time what someone else should be doing, why not just do it and show us how? From your previous posts, I can gather that you have the financial resources that most of us do not, to make it happen. Heck, you could even put on a WR, take your earning's from that, and have a rider over here for a number of years proving your point and making it happen. Looking forward to meeting the next Leavittation National Champion soon. Will you have the groundwork laid by the YN so you can give us all a sneak preview that are there?
  20. I don't think it is decided yet, I was just commenting that you could read someone's post where they said they agreed with the poster above, then laid out a different system then what the person above them had said. The 1-5 or 6 which seems to be a hang, is an attempt to get some standardization. While I doubt clubs will change the names of their classes (sportsman / Intermediate seem to be the hang) if they could just assign a number to their class relative to the difficulty, that would serve the same purpose. Ie, go back to my original post, had they said to Dean, what class do you ride, and he would have replied, Intermediate, Line 2, then they could of went, oh, line 2, we call that Sportsman. Unfortunately, everyone seems intent on naming from the top class, yet cannot seem to agree on what the top class is (Expert / pro / champ) so when you start from a differing grid coordinate, you end up in a different place. As to naming the same as the NATC lines. The NATC uses different class levels then most clubs. And percentage wise they usually represent a small minority of a clubs riders. The NATC uses, Sportsman, then call's it a Support line. (then further breaks it down by age and gender) then they have Expert Support (or maybe it is Sportsman) ES either way, that rides some Expert lines and some Support lines, then they have Expert which is their next to the top class riding E lines, then they have the Pro as their top line. (I know you probably know all this, but there will be some reading who will not) Anyway as to using their names. I tried to get STRA year before last I think to use their naming convention on Pro. It got shot down flat. The basic argument was our guys are not "Pro's" as in paid to do it. I think you will find a similar response in most clubs. Expert and ES these guys are normally riding Expert in their local clubs. If you divvied them up at local events, I doubt there would be enough people to make a class. Sportsman or support. These guys are normally what many clubs call Advanced. Could we call that class Sportsman? Sure, but there does not seem to be popular support for it here in this discussion. When it comes to Womens most clubs that run a Womens class that I am aware of use it as an incentive to get women to start competing. Often run on the Novice line. HS this is more of an age defined class (and now I guess actually age and skill as there are 2 now) and I think most HS riders just ride an appropriately challenging class in their club. Again, one of those deals, if the average club split these riders out, there would not be enough in a particular club to make a class. So, where are we at? What I see is that we are stuck. Seems that everyone but I wants the #1 class to be the top. Unfortunately, we cannot agree on what the top is. Some clubs are running a 5 line system, some a 6, not to mention that there really would be a level 7 if you will if you want to say WR type stuff. (although I doubt the person riding WR stuff will be involved much in Local Club level events) This is exactly the Morass that helps to keep trials stuck where it is IMHO. Had a long talk with friend looking in from the outside Saturday night, and came back to the same conclusion. The rallying cry for Trials Riders should be, Individualists of the world UNITE! I think someone (USMTA) is just going to have to sit down and write some stuff and put it out there. Then clubs can follow along or not. I doubt seriously at this point that we can come to an agreement in an open committee like what we have here. This may somewhat explain why the NATC is as "closed" as it is.
  21. Atom, don't you have a picture of Amy's and Louise's from the US? Pop a picture of those on here. I thought they were awesome.
  22. My one piece of advice is that you and the wife stay off from it. While it "works" more 50's have been torn up by adults riding them then kids. Get your son out there riding and have a great time (after the helmet of course)
