    Top End Re Build

Has the bike seen lots of action/road work? If so a piston and little end won't hurt but if it still rattles after you'll be miffed at spending £££s when the right carb tweaks would cure it. Have you posted what jets and needle clip you are running? It may be obvious to someone then. Have you done the screw driver on the barrel trick to listen to the motor? That should show up any real bad rattle.

    Beta Rev 80 Help

You filled them with the forks out, springs out and compressed didn't you? You can down load the manual from the Beta Uk website or email them for a link.

    Black Goo

You need to re pack your silencer. Cleaning the centre section will help but the goo you notice runs back down form the silencer and not as much up from the centre section. By a big bag of packing material for a couple of quid and change it once. Ride the bike fast on trails for and hour or so (use 50-60:1) and then this helps burn the header and centre section off. Once cooled change your silencer packing again. Not a proper job such as using spuds and caustic soda but it'll help. The black goo is just old un burnt oil in the petrol mix that has migrated through the pipe and not been burnt off through hotter exhaust temps.
  4. Should be a lot easier I reckon. Unless the frames bent and the new plates holes are in the right place it should be easy.
  5. Check water level. Leave it ticking over to see if it comes on within five mins or so (maybe longer depending on ambient temp). You can also short out the fan wires to check if its the sensor or fan not working. Search on here for it.

    Top End Re Build

Try lifting the needle a clip as well? I run A747 as a rule but if I go to trials I also use the strawberry stuff so my bikes compatible fuel wise if I or someone else runs out. I run either oil at 60:1. The A747 makes my rev3 so silky smooth it feels brand new but you also need the occasional bit of heat to burn it off but the metal to metal protection is second to none. It may not be the best oil if your bike is only ever ridden at section speeds. The putoline stuff will give you no concerns so stick with it.

    Top End Re Build

I'd still go for using Tesco 99 or Shell V power and 60:1 first. Then I'd tweak fuelling, then I'd look at engine parts. It would have needed to have done a shed load of work to need a piston and rings don't you think? My Rev 3 is a 2007 and on all it's original stuff and is silky smooth on decent oil and SUL but rattles like hell on 95 un leaded or naff oil at the wrong ratio.

    New Rev3 Plastics

Excellent. I can now start my search to create a "dark" Rev 3. I may go as far as getting the frame, swingarm and fork lowers powdercoated if I can be bothered longterm.

    New Rev3 Plastics

As the title says really. Does anyone make different colour pattern plastics for the Rev3? Mines a 2007 200cc model and the plastics are all good but I fancy a "dark" version. Does anybody make kits to include: Front mudgaurd Rear mudgaurd Tank covers If so can you post a link? Thanks in advance.
  11. Use thin ally plate that covers the whole length and it will only show a seam at the top and the bottom. If its welded it will look factory finished. You will need a good ally welder though.
  12. Try cleaning first off with a feeler gauge. My 2007 Rev3 is on the original seals and a clean has always stopped them leaking. The method is here: http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CDwQtwIwAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DUSac5G4SI-U&ei=Ls3dULmQOfSX0QWUmYDYCw&usg=AFQjCNHRveOhF9-phfDdnTfRqxcomr5Syw&sig2=GiQRXSAxY6xT6Vzl0GM7vQ&bvm=bv.1355534169,d.d2k Be sure to pump them up and down quite a few times to settle them after a clean though.

    Rev3 Fork Level

I'd go with Lampkins as it may be a slight help. You can always add a tad more oil if too soft?
  14. Beta rev 3 200. Its a bike for life if you don't want to be an expert.
  15. Thats why I use 60:1 for general riding. Insurance for the odd thrash. Not too oily for slow stuff and residues burnt of quick. If I were going to a very tight site for the day I too would mix 70:1 or closer to 50:1 if going to open moorland or marshalling an enduro etc.

    S3 Front Pipe

Anyone know where I'd get an S3 pipe for my 2007 rev 3 200?
  17. Seals suffer the same as us. Change them and it will be fixed. Have fun.

    Clutch Hose Options

Always get some spare olives so if you tighten wrong you can do it again. You snapped the pipe union and not the perch itself?
  19. Stator issues easily fixed so don't be put off.
  20. 200 Beta. You won't regret it and you will learn much more without being scared.
  21. Furniture polish is amazing for making plastics shiny. I use it as well. i then coat in the Muc off bike spray.
  22. Proper filter cleaner and air dry overnight. Skimp on this and you may get engine wear you don't need. A clean good condition filter is a happy filter. They are cheap so have a couple spares so you always have a celan oiled one ready to go. To re oil: 50ml of proper filter oil in a plastic bag (one the filter comes in is best) and rub bag to coat the insides of the bag. Drop in a dry claean fliter into the bag and squidge the bag in and around the filter to get good even oil distribution. When putting the filter back onto the mating surface in the air box use a smear of grease on the mating surfaces. This stops any water creeping past.
  23. If you shock is dying/dead speak to Andy Dawson 07973 628270. He charged £80 including postage to sort mine. You may find the lack of grip is too much torque for the wrist at the moment. Try using a higher gear than you think you need. i.e. use third instead of second. You also need to be super gentle on the initial crack of the throttle. A slight whiff too much and it will spin. If spin happens apply a touch of rear brake. This works like traction control! I use it on gravel climbs as it means you go forward without spinning.
  24. If it were me I'd run at 50:1 as well as using the best octane fuel you can find. Make sure it's pukka oil though and not cheap rubbish. You might want to look at using castrol xr77 or A747 oil if you're getting it that hot and want piece of mind against damage. You can't seize or burn a bearing out with too much lube? If you get oiling up issues you can always come back to 60:1 (it's what I run my rev3 on).
