  1. I'd always say Beta 'cos I got one. Did have a Raga Pro before and it hurt my pocket badly. The common faults on the Beta have been repaired at reasonable cost (bearing in mind it 6 years old now and first problem!). I love it and all is easily stripped, replaced and put back together. Nowt weird, parts available and no frailties....
  2. Beta 200. Rev 3 if low on cash or Evo if flush.
  3. Thats what I have been thinking. Problem I have is it keeps getting damp which in timne will lead to another stator repair. I think I will leave the cover off between rides.

    Seals And Wipers

Am I right in thinking wipers, seals, clips, bushes and oil might cost around £100 for my rev 3?
  5. You've probaly read my post on removing the fly-wheel weight. it is much nicer without it. Snag is I am getting moisture in the cover still. Not large amounts of water but enough to condense as small droplets on the back of the cover. I think the standard vent tube is too thin and too long to allow any vapour to escape. I don't want to drill a 3mm hole in the cover to let water run out as there is not much getting in. I also ride in a lot of water so don't want water rushing in. At the moment I am leaving the cover off between rides and letting it dry out. The wires going into the case are all siliconed and I also sealed the case with auto silicone when I put it back on but water vapour has still developed. like I said. Not much in there at all but it was damp. Any ideas? Is there a better casing on offer?
  6. Leave it off. I used my freshly free of fly-wheel weight 200 this weekend in a tril and it was loads better. Quicker pick up and less tendency to push the bike on once throttle closed. Less inertia has also made it feel lighter. Strange but true.
  7. How did you seize it? Lancourts in weston can sort the barrel out no probs. They can probably find you a piston as well. If you have all the bearing numbers (from the outer edge of the bearing race) you can get these ordered from your local bearing supplier. I use Hayley Bearing and Seals.

    Rev 3 Side Stand

The top bracket comes with the stand. You also need two 8 (or 10mm) bolts. Contact Lampkins?

    Rev 3 Side Stand

The stand mounts under the swing arm pivot on to the swing arm. They get loose so yours may have removed.
  10. They would only know if they have removed the flywheel cover
  11. I'm looking for a Rev 3 2007 200cc rear wheel as well. If I find a 4T one I'll let you know...
  12. Plating sounds a good fix to me. People do it to the middle section ok and it would only be a few pennies for a sheet of thin ally plate.

    Rev 3 Set Free

The plot thickens.... Why do some do have them fitted from new and some not? Anyone got a definitive answer? I have heard bike destined for the UK market have them fitted to help in the mud. European spec bikes do not but these bikes also get shipped to UK and can be cheaper to buy wholesale.
  14. Clean spare gloves. Always nice half way through a long day. Even socks if your flash! And re check all fastners etc. If your motor runs nice then leave it be. Just remmeber not to just hold it wide open for ages when transiting sections. Respect the motor (if you can on a 125) and it should be ok......
  15. Very good point. Time to buy a van then!
  16. Go for the Beta. Stator re wind is only £80 including P&P. Re shock re build with gas seals etc is on £80.00 including P&P (Andy Dawson). He does not bodge it and add a schrader valve. He rebuilds the whole job proper. Get those two issues sorted (if they are an issue) and you will have a long lived, reliable, awesome and tough bike.
  17. I'd keep it if I only used 4 times a year for the next 10 years.
  18. Try looking for an aftermarket market one. Email someone like Beta themselves (Lampkins) or BVM?
  19. I'd say it's worth as much as a buyer will pay. Even unused bikes age and people are wary of claims of "little use". You need to get people to see it. Try taking it to a local trial to show it off with a for sale sign on. Park it up by the organisers location and see if that helps. Another option is ask a trials bike shop to sell it and give them some commission. This way it is not in the way while you move?
  20. A ha. Classic case of maintenance. Good stuff
  21. I could'nt live with wonky grips
  22. Sounds like a carb issue to like a blocked pilot jet. A new plug always helps but if it needs the etc fuel by adding choke then it is not getting the right amount fuel in the first place. Blow out all carb components with compressed air.
