you may want to have read of the Dec issue of Motoverte to understand the Scorpa decision.

    2014 Scorpa

It's a dual map, same as on the Sherco, As a friend said to me, "O" for go", pricing, I have no details but I wouldn't be surprised that it's priced the same as a Sherco. I know MotoVerte comparison test is out soon in the Dec issue, maybe more info there.

    2014 Scorpa

you asked why Scorpa, I answered, I have nothing to do with Scorpa, seems you constantly want to stir something up, go away and get a life I like the looks of the bike, so what,

    2014 Scorpa

I'm sure you're correct, those that don't care for the Sherco set may take a good look at the Scorpa set up. I like you're thoughts on the "stalker", I liken it to a "cyber bully".
  7. I wish the Steve and the CMA Trials Action Committee all the best with their efforts. Trials in Canada and world wide is in a decline and struggling. I hope they come up with good solid tangible initiatives. Leave politics and past grudges aside. I urge all trial enthusiasts to get involved and support the Trial Action Committee. I have no affiliation with any group, my support is to everyone. More important, get out and ride and have fun, remember everyone living near me, there a fun ride at my place on Saturday, 1 pm to 4 pm. That's what it's all about. cheers

    2014 Scorpa

please pm me if you want get personal, no need for insulting remarks on a public forum I simply went to their web site for 2002 numbers. I think the 2000 units above 3000 trials was 50 cc bikes. From my information Sherco enduro does outsell trial now, trial numbers for all brands flattened around 2006 I believe, I was at the Nimes factory in June 2013, lets revisit Sherco unit sales at the end of the 2014 model year and we'll see if their projection are correct. I doubt 10,000 is far off and maybe it's conservative. cheers to get back on topic, Scorpa, good looking quality bike, good to see

    2014 Scorpa

14 years ago Sherco was doing 5000 units, 3000 trials, that was before enduro and x ride. so, do your math, come up with some facts and we'll all see where we end up. Sherco is a French company with plants in Nimes and Barclaona. cheers

    2014 Scorpa

the glass half full view is Scorpa has made many improvements over last year bikes. Most notably, linkage, shock, forks, frame, exhaust, motor, carb, plastics, weight. I would guess this bike is now competitive with any bike. I wouldn't be surprised to see it at the Championship level soon. It has the strength of Sherco behind it (I believe Sherco projects 10,000 units this year). I don't see any drawbacks, Twenty years and looking strong.

    2014 Scorpa

I'm saying two brands under the same ownership is common, Scorpa carries more models than trials, Sherco is keeping it alive and progressing for a reason.

    2014 Scorpa

Scorpa is twenty years old, Looks like different frame, plastics, fuel tank location, head and clutch/brake controls. Motor, wheels. bars & suspension look the same. As to "why" JMO The orange brand clones their bikes into Husky now. My guess is any manufacturer feels they will gain more of the market. Honda - Accura / Toyota_Lexus / VW_Audi etc
  15. also in our chat we both agreed that we want backing up allowed also, but feet up. I don't want anyone telling me I can't use or try a "skill" in a section. Having said that I'm not a fan of stopping with a foot down as that's not a skill and should be a five but then someone has to decide if the rider is stopped. After attending every competition in years past I only made it to two this year. Attendance in general is at least 1/3 less. I totally agree trials has participation issues in general world wide, I simply don't believe telling a rider they can't use a "skill" will solve anything. Trials needs marketing in a big way and will recover over the next 5-10 years as now enduro riders are cross training and their kids will be exposed to trials. We have a new crop of kids maybe starting in trials. From my experience enduro riders that cross train want to stop and balance as one of the skills to learn. anyway I will stop and balance and take my 5 if I have to but i definitely see my competition days will eventually end as my enjoyment will dwindle.

Hi Ric possible fuel pump is defective, they can be intermittent, when you apply a 12 volt battery does the fuel pump make a hi pitch whine. If it's a a slower low pitch sound that might be the clue. I suggest you take your bike to Rob Langs Off Road in Dorchester as your bike is out of warranty. He will sort your bike out for sure. He is our Sherco Canada tech and parts manager and I trained him on the Ossa unique build. He has the Ossa map and diagnostic tool also. cheers
  17. so we have the no stop - wobbly beginner rule - class winning rider rule - momentary wobbly stop gain balance rule - WTC stop but we don't count that rule - WTC top 5 leniency stop rule I had a chat with a rider that I compete with. In our world we have partner checking as observers are impossible to obtain. We agreed. We will continue to compete under non-stop if it comes but we will 5 everything with a stop and place last and keep a separate score card for ourselves to see how we really did. We're there to have fun and I'm not going to be frustrated with guessing how everyone is going to score a stop!!!!
  18. I don't mind being sore after riding and the next day or so, but, if I experience pain while riding I've learned that it's time for some maintenance and I'll ride another day. With elbows especially trying to ride through pain can set you back 6 months to a year. We have it in our heads that we will soldier through but riding with tennis elbow constantly is no fun.
  19. yep, any pain in the elbow a rider should shut it down immediately. ice, rest, stretch, strengthen, slow down riding when back on the bike. make sure the shoulders are well stretched out also. Try riding not covering the front brake and clutch levers. After 10 min of riding do more stretches to relax your arms and allow blood to flow, no hopping, stay smooth. last is, if you have a sharp powered bike off the bottom modify the bike to a smooth, easy power. Not trying sell bikes here but the new models now are powered for non-stop therefore off the bottom they are very easy to ride for everyone. no sharp snap off the bottom, much easier on the body. Novice riders can now ride 300's with a slow throttle with ease as the bike is not jerking them around.
  20. Tennis elbow, (google it) - ice it, stretches, rest, physio, do not try and ride through the pain, I've had it in both elbows, jmo

disconnect the kill sw, then try it, that's an easy one to try, check how the connector looks like to the ECU, pulling out of the airbox can strain the connector and water gets in.
  22. I'm 30 minutes from you with a riding area, pm me, cheers
  23. Interesting thread as being the business I see a-z on customers and dealers concerning what their needs are. Trials is a niche product - we all know that. If a rider is a novice they won't know if they are riding the bike well. (for the most part) But yes, riding a bike well is very important, but switching brands always take more than one ride to get use to the difference. Give each brand ample time to feel and know what you are on. Yes, budget is always a factor (you must check with the better half before purchasing) You could argue Mont is good quality but do they tick any other boxes? That's up to the rider. Service and warranty - won't comment on brand but I could write a book on this. I totally agree to ride every brand in your budget, give them a 1-5 rating in the different categories I had noted above and that might give you a start to your next purchase. jmo
  24. I believe the categories are equal and must be addressed by the factory, No two riders will rate the categories the same. Top competition riders vs recreational riders may view the categories differently. if you are number 1 in all categories you will do well. Performance Reliability Parts and Service Marketing Price As a side note, imo, trials emerging markets are x-training for other motorcycle disciplines. (an excellent market for pre owned trial bikes) Trail / trial bikes which can fill the void between the trial and enduro bikes which have evolved into fantastic machines but quite specific to their uses. Number one x training discipline is enduro, therefore countries with strong enduro markets will help trials sales. jmo good luck on your project
  25. I remember putting a meter on mine and it came up good until I start prodding around the "trigger" area and wires leading to it. Then I found a bad solder joint. anyway, I think fuel issues would give you lean running before stalling. Electrical issues simply kill the bike. jmo, cheers, i think there were some good threads on this from years ago with meter values etc.
