2013 bikes does not come with a battery pack, however if anyone has an issue the 9V $5 solution works very well. I'm intending to provide the Canadian 2013 bikes with this system installed. cheers
-
For most starting is not an issue, however the 9v battery works very well allowing an easy half kick to start when warm. cheers
-
they are now using a larger diameter hose therefore they have a larger diameter channel in the case to match.
Have no idea yet if modding the old cover is doable but you would need to change hoses if you did. cheers
-
that's two competitions and practice, ... the Ossa lubes gearbox, clutch and main crank bearings...it's time,
sure you can get away with 20-30 hours, that's not for me nor what I recommend.
-
I don't beleive GRO is avail in North America. Maxima Extra Light 75W is a good choice. Change every 5-10 hours.
-
The coolant that is used at the factory is produced by Global Racing Oil, 50% organic.
Freezing point -36ºC
Density 1,105 g/cm3 at 20ºC
Boiling point in closed space: 220ºC
It complies with these requirements:
Mercedes Benz, SEAT/VW TL 774D/G12, Opel/GM QL 130100, MAN 324, RVI/Renault tipo D, PSA B71 5110, Ford WSS-M97B44-C, MACK, CUMMINS 85T8-2, VW TL 774B/G12, BMW N 600 69.0.

all Explorers come with the LSS, 2013 bikes expected to be standard. if the 9v system is viable, then Ossa would test it, then we'll see...
-
there will be quite a few of them at the Ohio NATC, TR280i, FactoryR and Explorer.
-
maybe worth a KScan diagnose at your dealer...
-
Map 13 is set up for dual map and LSS, install the switch, you must move the ECU grey wire on pin 32 position to the 12 position. (or check that is has been done)

I think the statement " the aim is to share resources and create synergies between the two companies" captures what might take place in the future. The factories are 10 min from each other. Why not find efficiencies and cost saving where possible and that's just good business. Both would not give up their independence and trade mark. Lets start with the fact that Ossa needs production space for the Enduro and GG has it. That is one honkin building GG has and I'm sure they want to utilize it to it's capacity. jmo

with the LSS the cap is not required, I've started Ossa's without the cap or LSS connected, however, don't run bikes without a cap or LSS connected as the fan will not run at full speed. make sure you wire your LSS correctly as when it's turned off the bike will not run at all as it's wired to the kill sw. this ensures the bike will not be running with out it. I have an LSS on my FactoryR, bike is started half way through the kick. A good habit to to get into is using only the LSS sw to turn bike off, that way the battery is not left on.
Although not part of this thread the dual map sw is a great feature. You are actually switching between 2 separate maps and it definitely is effective and noticeable. The soft map on standard bikes is butter smooth and it's a map I recommend for novice / junior riders. If you don't have a switch the soft map can be loaded as the primary map. enjoy>>>

I don't believe there is...

main crank bearings are lubricated by the crank oil, mixture is 110:1 , case injection with the injector located between the reed block / throttle body and cylinder, sensors are barometric pressure, air inlet temperature, coolant temperature, throttle position.

Hi Toby, the LSS is just hitting the market now but has been in place on the FactoryR and Explorer prototype for some time. I believe the current prototype version you are seeing right now will be refined to a neat package. Any changes to the Ossa are rigorously tested, once approved then they move onto production which then quality control is crucial. Considering the LSS you must have a map that is programed for that system. Map 13 right now is programed for the system. Just imagine the thread on here, (my home made LSS won"t work, what's up???) only if they knew that they are not mapped for it.
As to making up your own system, you may want to talk with your dealer, something for everyone to consider, the ECU and all electrical components are energized when the LSS is turned on, I'm fairly confident that if you fry your ECU etc with a non Ossa battery it's not going to be covered under warranty. Further to that if a customer showed up with their own battery pack installed and the bike not running right the first order of business would be to remove their pack and reinstall the capacitor or Ossa LSS to get the bike back to standard set up.
Finally, I have no idea yet what the cost of the LSS (I'm not expecting it to be too much) is but why would anyone want to mess around with their ECU? It's the brain of your Ossa, take care when getting too adventurous. There is no doubt that we all like to tinker but the 2T ECU / EFI system is not where you want to get silly.
Just to add, Ossa invites the importers and their dealers to the factory for conferences. The last one we were at was in March where we tested the LSS bikes, Explorer, different maps and standard non LSS set ups. The feedback to Ossa was very interesting and varied, the most important note is that Ossa was not rushing the LSS out there for a quick fix and wanted feedback on the LSS and other bikes and features. What can be learned at the Ossa conferences by all participating is endless. I also see that Ossa invites customers to visit the factory also. Their perspective and feedback is so important. hope this information helps. cheers

Hi Canada280i - he's a sh*t disturber, imo don't pay any attention to this guy, always stirring the pot, no value added with any perspective, its comments like that (on all brands) that turn the forums from a possible useful place to gain knowledge and experience to enjoy your bike to just plain BS. he doesn't own an Ossa from what I see so ????????????? , go enjoy your GG somewhere else - people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
-
you don't really need a punch or drift, just tap the screw head with a hammer to free up the threads. Where are you located in Canada?
-
simply drift the screw with a hammer and that should break the thread free. I've not had an issue after that. cheers
-
get yourself an Ossa, then you will know the "point of fuel injection" first hand and from experience

I haven't tried the Jitsie but I am 99% certain that if you change the air flow the bike will run rich or lean depending. The map will not adjust for this change. I do feel the top cover filter is a great idea. I don't like to assume but it would be wise for Jitsie to ensure the full surface filter allows the same amount of air as the two inlet ports on the airbox top cover.
-
try starting the bike with your dealers battery connected. (battery must be connected to run the diagnose program) That will let you know what the difference will be with the LSS installed. map 13 is programed for the LSS. Earlier maps are not.

I've heard others who are happy on M11evo. great feedback, M13 does start a little easier and a little more pop to it. Either way your good.
There are separate maps for the high compression head and another set for the Termignoni with high compression head.
I'm riding a 2011 Replica (high comp head) at the moment and it starts first or second kick when cold. so all good there. Very clean and lots of power. the Termignoni has just another level of power over just the "high comp head" and runs very clean and tons of grunt and snap.
having said all that the standard model has plenty power for the majority of riders, very smooth off the bottom.
