Homologation of the venue took place last Tuesday in preparation for this years British Trial GP when Josep Punti of the FIM met the organising team on site . this years event is a 3 day event , qualifying and practice on Friday 10 July , with 2 full days of trial competition on Saturday 11 July and Sunday 12 July . There will be a host of other activities running along side the Trial GP Friday evening there will be a Twinshock trial , Saturday evening the largest gathering of Oset competitors as the youngster get there chance to compete in a special round of the Oset cup, commitment from the trade has been fantastic , with Wulfsport and Oset sharing the event title , we will have a least one Trials try out area from inch perfect trials , a big trade village with bikes and goodies on sale . we could have brought the world trial back to tong for 2019 but the 1 day format is not viable in this country unless a very generous sponsor would like to make a large contribution to the costs , the trial this year is being run on last years format requires a 10.000 euro payment to the FIM 5000 euro solidarity fund and 5000 timing and podium that's before you start with the other costs, which on a one day event would be impossible to cover. hopefully a 2020 GB trial will be 2 days and we can return to sustainability .

2 adults 2 kids can come and watch the best trials riders in the world for 50 quid for a day if you buy your tickets before may, parking is free , most of you need a big reality check the cost of the trial is massive and unlike Europe where the local government will pick up the cost , nothing is given in this country by local government , all we get from local government is advice how to spend more money on road traffic management to the site etc, the trial costs 50k ish to run plus all the time and meetings . The reality is because trials is so cheap to enter everything has to be based on that , meanwhile in the real world entry fee's for mountain bike events are £40 quid or more , even running races are much more than trials 50 QUID FOR 2 ADULTs AND 2 KIDS IS A MEGA DEAL AND AROUND THE SAME PRICE AS 2 ADULTS AND 2 KIDS RIDING A TRIAL

we have looked far an wide for another venue but its very hard to meet the standards required from the FIM trial work book , I live minutes from pateley and It won't work, the bikes are barely legal these days and meeting the health and safety requirements would be a nightmare, even the BEC events have dropped any road work after the police issued fines and points at lossiemouth back in april, unless some great sponsor comes along and wants to chuck in 40k only a closed venue can provide a world trial in the uk

Dirtbike-Traxs/jarvis Expert Trial, From our point of view the event was a great success,we always knew there would be short comings and now have identified them, machines are arriving on site next week to improve the sections and spectator viewing where there were 2 sections together they now will become a single section. The lack of press release was due to the fact that I was tied up with the running of the National 2 day enduro at Kielder Forest and the obvious clearing up. by the time next may comes around for the world trial the venue will be spot on . john kerwin dirtbike-traxs
