Fim World Championship Highlights - Maldon, Australia
petejohn replied to faultline's topic in Trials Videos
Thanks to the team of Aussies that gave us the chance to see, compete and have a fantastic experience. The Kiwis loved it Pete -
Great event. But in reality why would you ride this if you want to get into the top 5 in the world. 500 miles, 176 sections against 5 plus hours a day on bike quality sections pushing the limits. The top british riders ride it because they want to, and the other top riders have not been sitting doing nothing. Pete

Hi With four people, one on each corner they do take less than 1 min to pop up or down. Go to the local motox track, if you have one near as they use them a lot . they just sit around under one most of the day. then you can see the difference between cheap and expensive.

Please give some credit to Michael Brown, he is your number one rider Pete

Hi All i am saying is the event has not been held, yet some are saying its non stop told you so its a great event. I am not saying that its not, or its not going to be and appriciate the work that people have put in. The number of entries have have no relevance to any thing Good luck to all on the day Pete

Just because its a full entry it it does not mean the trials a success, except it will make money . Pete

Well done the Fim. A new class has been added to the world championships. International open class, for riders over 16, they will ride the same line as junior. This fills the gap between junior and pro level. So riders too old for junior, but not good enough for pro that want to ride at that level have a class.

Hi I think most riders require observers to be consistant in their decisions, It is hard not to be more leanient to someone old, young, knackered, bike running crap, struggling ect. Then mark the top guys like your life depends on it. All OBSERVERS wherever you are we do love you and appretiate what you do for us. Pete

Hi The people involved with this product will back it, so any issues they will sort. I guess poll tarras will ride the junior champs, and lookes to me like he will take the championship. So new bike with a world championship in the first year. Thats me looking into my christal ball. Pete

Hi Make sure you have a quick action throttle, the 125s cant respond like the larger capacity. Phone the importer he should help you with all the settings, and any mods you require. The 125s are great machines but need a lot of rider effort but in the long run he will really learn how to get the most of the bike, Pete

Hi Great tool, but it takes a long time to sharpen the edges, The tyre lookes messy as I dont mark it, just slice to sharpen the knobs. If you practice a lot its well worth the investment. Tyres are now quite expensive here, So if you practice a few times a week well worth the effort, if you ride trials with little or no practice then a waste of time as one tyre lasts a long time. Pete

Hi I have seen the 2011 Beta guard bend back towards the bars utill it was past straight up and return undamaged. My son eventualy snapped his which was replaced with a new one. Before I could get the old one plastic welded he also snapped the new one. (less than a week.) After welding he has only used one and have lasted well, except for snapping across the rear light. The black top team guards seam a lot more flexable. Pete

Hi Clive We are all waiting for the event to be a definite, although some have allready booked (including us). The Kiwi callender has been set around the world round. Most of the trials Kiwis are planning the trip. 2x youth riders, 1x junior rider that being Jake Whittaker who you know will be going on to europe with the top trial team. WE now have a Jotagas importer so he should maybee have a rider there ?. So well done the aussie's and the kiwi's will be there.

Kia ora Aussie is the place to be in May. Is it definite. We will be jumping the ditch to ride the youth line. The world round is great for us, not sure the europeans aggree, but it is the world champs, I am sure you will put on a great event. So g'day drongo and we will see you in Victoria. Pete
