  1. Hope you never 5 that sucker! Wow - Thats crazy. Is this what no stop has come too?

    Over Fueling?

Sounds like you plugged the carb vents when you "fixed" the hose. Put the old tube with a hole (vent) back on!
  3. One thing to try - remove the clutch - measure the fiber plates. If there is a thick one - make sure that one goes in 1st. The clutch basket has a relief machined into the bottom - the thin plates (In some clutch paks - can depend) are not thick enough to rise up and couple against the next steel - so you effectively only have 2 fibers working. Come to think of it, The finger height would be low in that case as well. Lever pull would be pretty easy too.

There pretty much the same bike except - the 10 has a Ti pipe and 2pc head. Of course the graphics as well - I think the 10 is a great looking bike. However, shock question aside, always buy a bike based on condition. Around here - a 09 in nice shape goes for about $3500usd - 10's go for about $4K in the current buyers market. Hammered bikes would be downgraded accordingly - usually not enough IMO. (I hate working on beat up bikes - let alone the cost of parts can easily out pace the savings - so stick with super clean) Seems the 09 would be the better choice and if it comes with the Sachs as well as Lineaway mentioned - bonus!

FWIW - I personally wouldn't buy a bike to get a shock alone - especially if its a older design. That said: IMO, The Sachs is a pretty decent shock, if you want to have the best shock for a GG, save up and buy a fully adjustable Reiger.
  6. My bad- didnt notice that. Good to know on the clutch.
  7. Weird. The AJP brake lines (Ft & Rr) didn't fit on two formula based bikes we tried it on. The whole banjo bolt setup on the rear was different as I recall. Didnt try the clutch line.
  8. Does it unseat fairly quickly? If so, are you sure your getting both sides seated? Need to hear 2 pops.
  9. I hope you got a bill of sale and able to get a hold of the dealer. I wouldn't ring - I would show up in person.
  10. Your Gaerne soles must have been on there alot better than mine. My cobbler ripped mine off clean with a pair of vise grips. Both boots! No grinding involved. He was not impressed with there overall construction and called them cheap! I always liked them other than the soles delaminating too easy. It was only $15 to repair (I supplied the replacement soles) so I can live with replacing them on a yearly basis if needed.
  11. Std bike GG 13's just arrived here. Same shipment as the 12 Raga's. (Ragas were only three months late...Nice one GG) As stated above - The historical arrival of the 13 RACE model "should" early spring for the US market, but you never know these days. Gas Gas needs to get its @$%& together on its shipments. People sell there bikes expecting there new ones to show up on time. But I digress, At least im not bitter....
  12. I think there are alot of acceptable solutions and it comes down to preference in many situations. Heres the official line from GGUSA/Jim Snell. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U0IAIDUZafY&feature=youtu.be
  13. I believe the current 125 models of the Scorpa line are 2t's (Sherco motors). Not the old Yamaha air cooled 4t based bike. FWIW - GG now makes a Randonne that incorporated a 125 4t motor. I heard they were coming out with a 250 version as well, but haven't seen any official announcement.
  14. Sherco's are great bikes. If you find a good deal on one, you would be foolish to let the 5 speed gearbox be the determining factor. I would add that Cabestany seems to do very well on his 5 speed bike!
  15. Seems everyone uses the same stock spring. Im kinda shocked.....(little trials humor there)
  16. Anyone have a source for HD (stiffer) tech fork springs?
  17. I havent seen any inexpensive helmets that have great ventilation. I guess those vents are really expensive . Im saving up for an Airoh.
  18. Short the terminals of the thermo switch together. Fan should come on right away with bike running. If you want to verify the functionality of the Thermo Switch. You need to remove it from the bike and test it in hot boiling water. Should be open when cold and closed (shorted) when hot. FWIW: In normal operation, when the switch senses hot coolant, it closes (short across leads)and connects AC power to the 12v DC converter/rectifier that in turn powers the 12Vdc fan.
  19. That is defiantly an Ohlins gold shock - a nice upgrade from the Sachs. You can back off the Spring preload and damping to soften it up. If you do a search, there are several threads on suspension setup for the GG on this forum. Heres a good suspension article written by Jon Stoodley on the GG USA tech page. http://www.Gas Gas.com/Pages/Technical/trials-suspension-tips.html
  20. 400 - roughly 2/3 up sight glass
  21. The 300 can be tricky to start. I find they do like a bit of throttle when hot. When cold, most new riders to the 300 will take several kicks regardless. Does the bike run well once started? The keihins can be alittle finicky with float height. Is the plug wet when you check it after it doesnt start?
  22. Is it like this when Cold (choke on) or Hot Or both. Its not uncommon when hot.
  23. This should get you started. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhoF-tJVolU&feature=player_embedded
  24. Here's a video to give you an example of the scope of the process. These guys were pretty heavy handed - but its the only video I could find. As mentioned, I have cut the bearings as well with success. Just need to go slow. Harbor freight sells cheap presses if you dont have one.
  25. Totally different designs - so im not sure if it would work. If you want a lighter spring in the Dellorto, You can sand down the sides of the spring a bit to decrease the wire diameter.
