The stock (26mm PBHL) jetting on the bikes comming into the states is:
Main - 118
Pilot - 38
Needle - D36 - clip on 2nd from bottom
Needle Jet/atomizer - 270
Fuel screw - usually around 3 turns out. (of course this is not a static setting)
We always change this to a leaner main and needle setup, but was told it worked well on UK Gas.
(any chance u have a Air leak somwhere?)

I think they would say - holly crap.
I hope whoever was riding it at the time is OK.
-
Thanks - I will keep an eye on that next time im into the linkage.

These bikes have high compression and require good kicking technique. Make sure you get your weight above the bike - stand on the uphill side of the bike or find somthing to stand on to help improve your leverage. Use an Iridium plug gapped to 0.022-0.024" to get a better spark with low turnover rpm.
-
The problem is that Adam knows how to soak up the force of the landing and us mere mortals dont. Probably weighs less too. Scaling the weight and talent - I limit myself to 1ft drops....
-
Sounds like a good idea - Cant you use the plastic ones off the bike as a template?
-
400ml works better (fully drained) - ATF-F or GM autotrak Transfer case fluid (blue stuff) - just make sure you change it on a regular basis to keep it fresh.
-
-
The only time I use it is to hold the gasket in place while reassembling - I use grease on the clutch gasket all the time (to hold it) and works well. Dont really need it otherwise.
-
I agree - They look like they will fit. "Should" be OK.
-
Does your bike have a high compresion head? Will need higher octane if by chance it does.
-
Did you read the "kick Start Shaft Alignment" note on the GG USA Tech Page. This is very important.
Note - need to scroll down a few pages to get to it.

400cc.
Make sure you lean the bike on its left side to get all the fluid trapped in the clutch side case.
Sight glass should show aprox 3/4 full. Will take a couple of minutes or for the fluid level to show correctly.

To start off, you can probably get away with just increasing the the spring preload - and focusing on the basics like learning to turn, clutch and brake.
Longer term, Setting up the bike with the proper springs and dampening for your weight will make a huge difference when you start doing bigger obstacles. Stiffer springs are available for most bikes and some folks have there own custom springs made up.

Update:
Switched to a VHST and after trying various jetting combo's, now have the bike running very nice. I find the VHST smoother w/better throttle response way down low (what I was looking for) with smoother/higher over rev. I was happy with the PBHL, but feel the change are worth it as I had access to a "free" VHST. (the cost of the jets, needles and fuel valve was a total of $80)
I really appreciate all the input folks gave me - especially the insight provided by Senior Blanco (Marlintec)

These guys are alot closer and carry top quality bearing kits for your bike

The 05 Ragas are real nice bikes. I know a few guys who added a flywheel weight and like it better for a smoother feel. As far as starting, they need a quick strong kick or you wont get far. I trust you know the drill. I use the NGK IX series plugs (Iridium tips) and feel they give a better spark at low coil output for easier starting (gapped to 0.022 to 0.024") I think these have the programmable ducati ignition as well, but you need a laptop and cable to change it.
Add a 06 clutch spring - for a 20% lighter clutch pull over 05. (GG changed to a thinner Belville spring in 06 and wasnt on the 05 Raga)
Use Autotrac II transfer case fluid for a touch more clutch slip. ATF for quicker hookup.
The ohlins gold shock is real nice as well (if its not shot - can be rebuilt though)
After you get it started...Make sure it shifts smooth (up&down) and the KS isnt notchy.
heres a 05 we sold - doesnt look like a gold crown to me.

I like Peter's idea, but if you want to replace the PBHL new, then Dellorto UK has an online presence and can order from them if you know your jetting. Otherwise, your dealer can get them for you and set it up for local conditions.

Jim snell (risingsun) has a video on how to correctly install the orings on the head spacer - if followed - no problems. Know of several w/o problems.
-
Manual for my 2002 said 650ml, I used 550ml. (passed on from several others)
-
Head Spacer is the best value. Cheap and bike still runs good. Easier to KS and saves money on lower octane gas as well.
FWW is OK - but too pricey IMO
Base Gasket cheap, but as previous poster said, will change port timing. I havent tried it though - let us know if you do.
-
How'd u go threw 4 pistons? Lets see some photos of that frame.
