  1. I think all Cota 200s had red frames. I don't think Montesa ever offered a chrome frame on any of their twin shock bikes. Silver paint maybe, but not chrome...
  2. Before doing anything drastic, get the new plug and let it idle until the fan comes on before riding. This cured all starting/running problems with my 07. Good luck! - Bob
  3. Is it the 10W40, which appears to be synthetic, or the 80W/85W, which is unclear as to natural/synthetic? Thanks, Bob
  4. I was able to buy a leftover '07 from Dallan. Their support was great and it was zero trouble getting it into the US. Now, coming from a vintage Mont, I just have to figure out what to do with it! - Bob
  5. You're very welcome. I checked my records, and found that I settled on 15 wt in my forks, which seems to work fine, so you would probably find 7 wt to be too light. I weigh 165 lbs. Bob
  6. thanks guys. I would settle for a nice, slightly used one, for sure. there are no '08s available in the US only. they can be had in Canada and imported by an individual without too much trouble, it appears. Bob
  7. The manual lists the following: Fuel Mix - 32:1 Fork Oil - 200cc of "Hidrol-7", which I assume is 7wt Gearbox - 900cc of 10w30 Hope this helps. It's a good performer. Problems I've had have been gas tank leaks and the tranny popping out of gear. Adding a ball bearing to the detent spring at the top of the case helped a lot, but didn't eliminate the problem. Good luck. email me if you need anything else.
  8. Are you sure its a 1975 Cota 200? I don't think they came out until '80. In '75 it would have been a 175 or a 247. See the following link: http://www.southwestmontesa.com/montesa/years.htm I have a 200 and can get you the info that you need. Bob
  9. Thanks for the information Martin. After wanting one of these for years, I just put together enough $$$ to buy one, and BANG, they're no longer imported. What luck! Now that all of the "leftovers" have been sold, is there any chance that '08s will now be imported? Is there even a tentative timetable for resuming imports? Regards, Bob Klova
  10. If there are so may earlier models not spoken for, how come I am having a hard time locating one? Anyone know of a new '07 that I can buy in the US?
