  1. Beta 2018 250 factory. My son fell off it was revving madly but he had landed on kill switch so couldn't cut off straight away. We let bike cool kickstart was free so not seized. I removed kill switch at connector ant there appears to be a spark. It does eventually start on choke and run normal but wont keep running. I was wondering if carb is blocked with all the vibrations of high revs or he may have knocked something electric wise. I haven't checked woodruff key as only have a puller for rev3 not evo. Any help appreciated
  2. Hi left hanger has snapped on my factory 250! has this happened to anyone else and if so can they recommend a fix or is it just a case of having it welded. I'm located in Blackpool area if anyone has reccomendations. Thanks for any help!

    Engine swap?

    I have a 2011 125 with a blown engine I have been offered an older 290 engine in good condition the one with 290 on engine cover. Will it fit ?????
  4. Might be stupid question I cant get the screw off ST125 2011. Is it opposite threaded?
  5. Whilst re-building the mains i want to rewire the bodged up bits of wiring, for example the fan runs the whole time and the wires as all the same colour. I would like to check it and return the wires to correct configuration etc. Any help appreciated.
  6. I think main bearings have gone as can hear bottom end grumble is there any massive issues with fitting a new set myself. I'm quite handy but haven't stripped a sherco down before. I successfully did my rev 3 though. Thanks for any advice
  7. Hi, I've just pulled my flywheel to check the seal and you can see its gone by the puddle on the picture. Does the stator look like its timed correctly its a 2011 st 125. I'm going to change the crank seal anyways and clean the actual stator as you can see it needs it. The bike has had problems staying ticking over and after fitting a new pilot jet I checked the seal, would this potentially have been the problem. Also if I need to change the mains how much do you think it would be please. Thanks for any help.
  8. Having fitted carb tune up kit it still won't rev right up the rev range. I thought that might sort it, it's fitted with electric ignition from ty trials which may have been altered 'I leant the bike to a friend' so advice on setting that would perhaps help as well. ANY help appreciated
  9. My ty175 is currently on .25 oversize. I would like a recommendation for someone to re-bore to next size and perhaps cost-dependent do a mild port tune
  10. Ive just bought a 2011 125 and was wondering what the original gearing was its currently got a 48 on the rear. Any advice appreciated.

  15. Put new mains in and seals, wasnt aware of moving anything gearbox wise but now rebuilt wont engage to select neutral. The shaft holding the gear selector drum one with the shaped grooves did cone out so I placed it back in maybe that has caused it. Any advice truly welcome. Thanks in advance Nick
  16. Hi, Due to being on a tight budget ive decided to try and do my own main bearings as they are grumbling badly. Im wondering if its really difficult or not and if anyone has the sizes of the bearings. I have access to a good bearing supplier but obviously sizes would help. Any advice very welcome. Thanks

  18. Im trying to get my 2003 270 running. At the minute when it runs sounds fine then dies and wont start again. apparently the 'expert' has tried different stator,coil,cdi etc. Hopefully nothing big but im questioning crank seals or piston rings as ive not had time to strip it as yet. It has cost me a lot of monies so far and still have a broken bike. If its seals how expensive/difficult is it to fix them? Any ideas welcome. Thanks in advance
  19. The bike would run fine then stop and not run again at all left it would start again then stop. he apparently has tried new stator, cdi and coil. Still sounds a bit stator like to me any ideas? Earths have been doubled to try to write that off as a problem. Could this be a compression problem ie when cold compression is better then gap arises when its hot? Or broken reeds? Any ideas welcome!!! I would like some pointers before i tackle next week. I was tempted to send stator to west country windings to have checked properly. PLEASE ANY IDEAS WELCOME
  20. Hes quite light, and would like a new sherco, just digging around for ideas as he thinks looks are more important than performance as most lads do.
  21. Hi my son is looking for a new ish bike 2012-onwards. He's been riding a ty175 and is very proficient on that and also on my rev3 270. Im looking for advice on size and make if possible, he obviously goes for looks but i would rather him have a bike that is reliable and good to ride. There is no intention to ride on the road so I was thinking 125-200. He's looking at purchase on HP via me of course. All ideas welcome. THANKS!!!!!!!!!!
  22. That sounds quite logical as my son dropped some of the washers off the points and i just replaced, didnt think of what order they went in. I will look today and try and check but difficult knowing what order they go in now they have been off. Thanks
  23. Cleaned and reset the points and the bike ran first kick for about 10 secs revved out normally then died spark gone again. no spark at plug at all. Thanks for all your help!
  24. I take it you mean where the coil joins the frame. Will check that now. Thanks
