Just changed condensor and moved to under tank, still no spark all joints soldered and fresh wire. Ive not changed the points could it be those? There seems to be no current from the stator area at all I checked for voltage with a multi-meter.
Does these windings fail ie like my beta one?
Any Ideas more than welcome or any willing volunteers to come and have a look Lytham st annes area.

Hi, I have a problem with getting the timing right. It was running then i changed points and condensor it ran again. All i have done now is change the plug cap for an ngk one. now its still sparking but wont start. Fuel fine I have tried adjusting points but find it really hard through the little flywheel hole.
Any Ideas????

Sorry to hear about your problems!
Try Manchester 17 club their easy trials are very well organised and even run a conducted course. They will assist and give valuable tips and help. Ive got two lads riding through their easy trials series.
Hope this helps

Yep Ive had the flywheel of to check the woodruff key but it seemed intact and i tightened the nut with a electric impact driver. I could check again but am confident it is on right.

hi,
I have taken of the stator cover cleaned and replaced it.The spark seems great and the plug does get wet. I noticed there was fuel getting into the exhaust it did run with the exhaust off for about 10 secs now with it back on it either backfires or doesnt do anything at all. I have had float height mentioned to me but as yet havent checked it, but did take float needle out and blow threw the hole. and I have blown out the carb with comressed air.
Any ideas I was looking forward to using it during christmas with my boys but it doesnt look good.
All help gratefully recieved.!!!!

I have sealed it now but the idea of a small drain hole sounds good. Thanks for all the advice, perhaps it should have been designed correctly to start with lol.

Someone out there must know a good way of sealing the flywheel cover up to keep the dreaded water out. My bike suffers even when its jetwashed and always seems to need cover taken off and dried out. The stator needs cleaning because it rusts over.
Its a rev3 270 2003
ANY IDEAS!!!!
Thanks in advance

Hi,
Thanks in advance for any assistance given. My beta was running fine until jetwashed it and now there is no spark whatsoever I have so far:
Took off kill switch totally
Took off flywheel and cleaned flywheel and stator pickups.
Tried several dozen kicks
Tried multiple plugs
cleaned earth behind coil
ANY IDEAS!!!! Bike is currently in st annes lancs any help and advice very gratefully recieved.

sorry its for a fantic 80, with the ducati flywheel. what i meant from no threads is it has the central thread as per the norm, some of the universal pullers have the set of three bolts that screw into the threads on the face of the flywheel. Ive had problems with the spark after pulling of the casing i noticed it was full of dirt and when blown witgh air duster and some cleaner some spark returned so I thought it may be a build up of crap on the rotor pickups.
-
Where the hell can I buy one loads of other sizes available, also those ones that screw onto the face of the flywheel like a universal puller no threads on mine.

Hi,looking for some advice,
The bike started running erratically and lacking any power eventually dieing with no spark at all.
I have changed the coil pack and still only sparks intermittently, on pulling the side cover of the left of the bike I noticed a lack of a gasket and that a lot of crap/dirt had got in.l
Could this be the cause or does anyone know better?
Got one of the lambretta coil packs of ebay on advice from a forum seems okay. I have a yellow wire which isnt connected to anything at the moment.
What size flywheel puller do i need i have already got quite a collection but not small enough for this.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Thanks
-
Hi, Not having much luck got similar problem with my fantic as well, I got a shock of the HT lead when investigating poor running, does this indicate a problem with an earth perhaps.
-
Hi, Fantic 80 not reving out seems like it stuttering I went to check the wires and the coil pack under tank and got a nice electrical shock.
Bike is believed to be a 1990 and is the monoshock with an orange tank.
Any help appreciated!!!!!!

I have several patches of paint coming off my engine, its a late 2003 and was wondering if anyone knows the correct colour. Also I could do with advice on how to apply.
Thanks in advance.

Taken for granted its sparking, mine always needs the choke on for its first start of the day. How old is the fuel as it does go 'off'. Also I would check to see if the kill switch isnt earthing out and causing weak or no spark(you could just temporarily remove from the bar). Have you tried some fuel down the plug hole to see if it fires? Could also be gum in the carb.
Hope this helps, there is a wealth of knowledge on here much greater than mine.
Good Luck

Hi I am an experienced rider and have just bought my 10yr old son a fantic 430 (80)cc and could do with a manual if possible. Also a tip to any useful mods that have been done would be good.
Thanks in advance.

Try using a 12v Impact driver like the ones used to removal car wheels. These are a nice tool and prove useful

Hi,
Check for leaks on the air hose joints, that is carb to rubber hose and then hose to airbox, if not check fit of reed assembly all these can cause those symptoms.
Good luck.
