Glad to help mate, i did try running my 300 of a 34 pilot jet which was in for a while because for some reason with the 45 in, it would eat fuel like no tommorow, anyway i put the 45 back in & it's not eating fuel now, i still aint got rid of the pinking though.
-
the 3.5 slide will be fine, as the 300's should be using a 3 slide instead. the needle will be perfect, jetting will be fine also, i used to use standard jetting on my old 125 & it run perfect, to be honest i wouldn't change the jetting as long as the bike runs ok.
What main Jet & pilot jet is in the carb at the moment?
-
Hi,
I am currently using this Jetting & it has more a less stopped, my engine is set up completly different though by the factory which was done for Sam Haslam (Team GG UK), & before he sold it to me he messed about with it & made it worse by taking the original carb off, which has made it start pinking.
-
Possibly Pinking?, mine usually does it a lot, try 125 main jet, 45 pilot, JJH needle with clip in middle position.
see if it stops then, if it doesn't try faffing about with the air screw otherwise.
I get it happening on mine also when you blip the throttle & going up a hillclimb.
From the description you have given us, i think it is very likely to be pinking, but could possibly be something else?

Nice one mate, Brilliant Decision!, most of the Beta kickstarts are quite flappy for some reason, nothing else though to be carefull with though, you will enjoy it, Trust me.
-
Some how mine is cracked, i'm going to get it repaired though, but i have heard of quite a few rads what have broken.
-
Sure yeh, i said that didn't I.
-
I no they are really rubbish rads, it kept losing loads of water lol, better do something about it before the bike ends up boiling up.
-
Hi Les, you alright.
I've actually seen one at a quarry this weekend, looked good & that was a 125, wouldn't imagine it would be that different though, go ahead with the 225 though, i no you was really determined to convert it!
I've just found out my radiator is cracked on my 300 lol.
Ben.
-
I'm not trying to argue with you, i'm only saying what i've been told.
-
Go for the Beta definatly, you will not regret it!
-
They should have imported them to the U.S, it would of helped them.
-
-
Trials UK have the definate prices now.
-
I image you wouldn't have a problem fitting the rad on an 06, i would say they're expensive though, or there is an alternative GMX rad which is even bigger!

I no that on 07- downwards models, GasGas did have trouble with the bikes overheating, so in 08 they put a new radiator in them which stopped the problem, i have never had any trouble with my 09 300 overheating what so ever.

If you want Parts for a gasser, that's where to go.
they also have an online shop as well.

Hi,
No other problems to warn you about really just keep the air filter as clean as possible i try to clean mine every week because it wouldn't run well at all the other week because of the mud inside it.
Cheers,
Ben.

Have a good browse on Ebay mate, see if you come across anything that intrests you.
-
My 300 Gasser flys up them massive hillclimbs, doesn't pink at all & so does my dad's beta 4t, i think the sherco 4t flys up them as well because the engine is so strong in them, but i always thought that the 4rt's struggle i had a go on a 250 4rt & i really struggled with it, & jumped off half way up it lol.
-
I know a bloke who has one, & has had no problems what so ever with it, i had a go on it & it was really nice to ride (i prefer mine though lol)
I bet your excited lol.
-
Hi,
the flywheel weight was noticable at bottom end power & it definatly has better grip, up those big hills it used to grip well before but jesus there is absolutly no spin or whatever. the bike feels very smooth as well, a lot smother than it used to be.
Cheers
Ben.
-
Sure did mike, & it's a beast sounds awesome, looks awesome couldn't ask for more, also got my Flywheel weight which has transformed the bike
-
Yep most of gassers have this problem, What I do to stop the tyre rubbing is to fit a washer between the exhaust & the frame on the top middle bracket, you will see a thick spacer there but put a washer in there as well & that will stop your problem.
Cheers,
Ben.
-
How'd you snapped the frame?
