    Spark Plug Colour

Is the plug a bp5es, if it is not and you have the stock plug, it will run to cold if you are in the Uk!

    Sump Bolt

Ratchet straps and temporary threaded bar. If the straps do not pull the sump close enough then fit the back sump guard bolts through the sump guard and into the frame, cut the threaded bar to two suitable length pieces and thread into the front fixings through the sump guard, the wind the sump into position with nuts and washers on the threaded bar. Once the sump guard is in position remove one threaded bar at a time and replace with the original fixings (if it is really bad you may need to clamp the plate once it is in place while you remove the threaded bar)

    Sump Bolt

Could you cut a slot in the sump plug with a dremel so you can place some flat bar into the slot and turn the bar with an adjustable, then replace the plug with new.

    Ng Race Rear Disk Brake

Thanks for your replies, we will give it a go.
  6. Hi has any one used the NG brake disks, I need to replace the disk on the rear of my sons evo 125 and the NG disk is about half the price of the original disk. So my question is are the disks as good as the beta disk and if so is the wave disk any better than the standard disk?
  7. You had better make contact with the club, as you may not be able to ride (practice) unless you sign up for a licence on the day, just so you don't drag your bike up for no reason!
  8. Brilliant, welcome to the most enjoyable, addictive sport, once you start it will become all consuming.
  9. If you sign up and you have a licence jump in and have a ride, you will love the ground, don't go away kicking yourself for not riding.
  10. Next Sunday, West of England mcc are holding a trial at hound Tor nr widecombe in the moor, set out for all ability levels, it's a great venu.
  11. Brakes are fine (if working and maintained correctly!) engine and power also good but may be personal preference.
  12. The original kill switch is very poor and is the first item that we replace, best to replace it with a lanyard type (
  13. You will find the info at American beta-support-accessory mounting instructions.
  14. Have a look at the American beta web site they sell a conversion kit!
  15. The Beta 4t is a great bike and I would buy another, I have no experience of the mont so my comment is a bit one sided.
  16. Blocked fuel tank breather, the bike gets fuel when left standing but once it runs up no more fuel can leave the fuel tank if the tank is not able to breath
  17. I have had a similar problem, after a demanding trial my clutch finger will bend and I am unable to straiten it, it can be a problem if it happens mid section as the bike comes to a stop and to a bystander it sounds and looks like the bike as dropped out of gear.
  18. Spring removal makes a massive difference to the effort needed and we have not had any slippage problems!
  19. We ordered the black 4t rear mudguard for a 2007 Rev, it fitted perfectly, it was more robust than the red mudguard and it was £60, £20 cheaper than the 2t red guard, we ordered it from BVM.
  20. May be worth emailing American Beta, I have had really good comms with them when I hit an information brick wall in the UK.
  21. Is the fork tube damaged? Inspect the tube and carefully remove any sharp edged scratches on the tube as they will damage / cut your new seal, then fill the scratch with superglue or nail varnish, sand down carefully to match the tube profile. Then you may need to replace the seal if the sharp edges have cut the sealing lip of the seal.
  22. One year is not enough time for any of the above questions, but is it just me or has queuing at sections become less and trials seem to flow more easily even with the same numbers of riders or more, at local club trials anyway!
  23. If you remove two clutch springs the clutch action will be lighter and then one finger will operate it more easily when it is set up so it does not need to touch your other fingers on the bars.
  24. Beta for me, but you need to find a dealer that has a practice ground and try them all. Good luck and enjoy your time trying them.

    Rev 4 300 Cold Start ?

Fuel switch in the down position, allow carb to fill with fuel. I can normally start without the choke but when it's very cold or not been started for a long time I use the choke. One slow kick and then one normal big puch of the kickstart (not a stabbing kick). Normally catch the engine with a blip of the throttle. Return the fuel switch to the up position. Happy days.
